Could do with Giroud getting one too, might give him that bit of confidence he needs ahead of the Southampton game.

Not playing tonight as he pulled a muscle - looking to be fit for the Bellorussian game on Tuesday though

Seen a small bit of the England game and the ox was playing really well. Set up a goal

Seems like all the Arsenal boys had a good night - good good.

Read the table. It's ranked by total number of days missed.

I don't know if arsenal get anymore injuries than other clubs, that table classifies a significant long term injury as anything over two weeks - not really what we're interested in.

For example if tottenham had 6 players get hamstring injuries that ruled them out for 16 days each & arsenal had diaby + wilshere injured for over 7 months each due to 2 injuries each, then tottenham would would be worse off in the table, 6 v 4 in the injury count.

so i think you are missing the point, it's nothing really to do with the number of injuries it's more the total length of them due to the recurring injuries etc.

diaby had 4 sub appearances in the league, 1 sub in europe last year
    wilshere 0 apps last year
RVP's last 18 months at the club were his only injury free period
    rosicky missed a whole season
    there're others too

in the last post i gave the fact that diaby's trainer said he didn't complete rehab properly enough to resume training - who else's fault could that be other than the meds?

yes the reason for his injury was getting his leg broke but there's the possibility that his other injuries have come from being back training & not properly ready for it

so that's the issue, are players being sent back into training too quickly after injuries at arsenal, thus resulting in players missing for far far longer than expected with new injuries

diaby & wilshere have had injuries for longer than just last season

explain the bit in bold from the poxy table that covers 1 season :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

As EuropeanSon has said the table is ranked by total number of days missed. We prob are guilty of bringing players back too quickly but other clubs are prob doin the same. Remember Torres with Liverpool?

Players could be lying to the medics saying they feel no pain when they do and the medics then clearing them to play. We will never know I suppose.

the table covers 1 season though.

it's possible they (the players) say that, although you'd think they'd be aware of the problems it could bring, but should the meds. not know when its suitable or not for them to be training or what kind of training they should be doing

if diaby had an injury free season the last time he worked with the trainer & has one this time as well or at least no major setbacks + if the stories about RVP using a personal trainer this last while are true, then it doesn't look good for them along with wilshere, rosicky & the others who've missed long long periods

Diaby is getting glowing reviews for his performances this last week.

    Absolutely delighted for him.

I don't want to be the downer on the whole thing but that goal is exactly what he's been threatening to do for years when fit. Him, Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla, they should all make the midfield 3.

It seems I'm the big negative on this thread but when it comes to the Champions League I'd be disappointed if we don't get to the semi-final. I don't think we have the perfect creativity to consistently break down solid EPL defences on a weekly basis but if we are sensible enough in Europe we'll rape just about any team on the counter attack. Funny thing is that the team we have now reminds me of the teams at the start of the last decade, let them try and beat us, it's not gonna happen.

I'm very drunk so I apologise for waffling but the nervousness we all feel when 2 goals ahead is something that we'll get over before the team gets over. We don't have that bad of a defence, we never had, we just lowered our expectations. That's why I'm being negative, we could go this season unbeaten and still only end up 3rd or 4th in the league. Other than Barcelona I would fancy us against any team if the game is open, yous have a go, we'll have a go. Last season leaving out a certain freak result our defence was as good as anyone else, we have it solidified now, we have probably the best midfield in the PL (well, til the Chelski ones gel) and if Giroud gets the finger out and Walcott/Gervinho just give it to him we'll have a figurehead. Even then, if Chamakh could sort his head out a 4-4-2 as a fallback with him and Giroud up, Cazorla and Podolski "out wide" and Arteta and Wilshere in the middle, I'm licking my lips as I type it :P That's without Ramsey, Diaby, Rosicky. I just wish we wouldn't "try so hard" in league matches, the one game we've won this season was the one when we let the opposition have the ball.

Apparently Gervinho scored a goal, had two assists and won a peno! Not too shabby from our players so far. Lets hope they make it back unscathed and full of confidence.

Which Gervinho is this? Can we sign him instead?

That's brilliant but presumably it means he'll be off to the ACN? We should be able to cope as long as we're not having one of our injury crises at the time

Well there's a second leg and Senegal have two away goals so it's not 100% guaranteed, but most likely he'll be off.

If diaby plays tues, which I think he will
We should give him a break against Southampton throw in the coq, he will have played 5 games in about 2 and half weeks
Considering he is after playing 5 games in prob 3yrs we should rest him no matter how much he is flying

I guess Wenger wasn't bull****ting when he said Diaby would be first name on the team sheet for france when he's fit.

I'd start Ramsey. Being benched can't have helped his confidence so the occasional start should keep him happy.

I don't think Coquelin has played at all yet this season. Throwing him in from the start would be a risky move.

Diaby's good early performances surely make him favourite to be poached next year? Hope I'm wrong :)

He's had one a half good games. Relax there chief. People in here seem to be getting carried away with a player who was only ever average at best for us up until a week ago where he looked good against a clueless liverpool side.

Nah it was just a joke. A United mate of mine said it to me so that's why I even thought of it.

I'd go Ramsey too, purely because I had a dream the other night that he scored the first goal for us against Southampton, wanna throw a few quid on it!
