Someone should organize a meetup for DCU heads from boards, went to one a few years ago in the Slipper and it was decent craic, remember being told that I'd recognize the group cause there'd be "hairy people and redbrick hoodies"

Really looking forward to college life again. Did my first undergrad in 99. Although, ill be studying this course (grad dip IT) at night, I really hope I can get involved in college life.

My job is flexible enough, so I hope to have time to join soc's etc. Hopefully see some of you guys there.

I'm smiling to myself here, thinking of my attitude to mature students back when I was 18/19. "Look at those people down the front. Asking questions and everything. And they aren't hungover either" :)

To everyone who is joining college for the first time, enjoy every single minute. It is going to go by so quickly. Undergrad years were definitely the best years of my life.

I think theres been one every year for the last while. I went when I started in 2009, and went along to meet last years first years too.

Their great, you'll meet tons of people in the same position as you. and knowing a few people will make getting through the first week or two much easier until your settled into classes.

    Would love a boards.ie meetup!!

Just wondering, what time does online registration start for tomorrow? Like, it opens bang on 00:00, or is there a specific time? :P (*Mad* to see the timetable hahaha!)

    Question answered, I'm in!!

I *think* I'm registered with it now. Just need to make the payment and I'm done? I assume we have to wait 24 hours before we can get onto Moodle or what is the story? :)

Just a note re the timetables - don't take them as canon just yet! The timetables usually change a fair bit before you start and even after you start.

Just filling out my registration for ALIS here, and I see Spanish Language 3 (Intermediate) and Spanish Language 4 (Intermediate). I did Spanish for LC, but I'm a little confused as to which one I should pick.

looked at my timetable and i can safely say I get a bit confused looking at it! But I'll manage I guess!

I had to pick my language modules, and there were three french options and i took them all as they added up to the full 60 credits I need.

You do Spanish Language 3 in semester 1 and Spanish language 4 in semester 2.
    So pick both n_n

Oh OK, I was a bit confused as it says 'Year Long'' for 3 and ''Semester2 for 4. However, putting down both gets me my 60 points so I'll be grand.

    Thanks.

edit: We don't have to pay right away, right?

Getting: "No institution validation(s) have been setup for qualification registration (rq); please contact the institution for more information. DK,DL,DM", anyone know exactly who I should be contacting?

    Same here.

I'm also being told that "No subjects are currently loaded for registration, either you have completed your registration or no qualification registration has taken place". Obviously the most logical reason is that the database hasn't updated yet, but they should definitely of had this ready.

Yeah, I get that other message too. It may have something to do with the fact that my course has no choices, ie all 8 modules for the year are compulsary?

Yeah, I figure I'll come back to it tomorrow. If it's still not OK, I'll find out who to email.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51 ✭✭DesmondGAF

I got that message, but it went away after I accepted the T&Cs in Step5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,889 ✭✭✭tolosenc
