    RIP Michael Clarke Duncan....

You might remember him as Balrog from The Legend of Chun Li:

Posted this in the games forum but Startopia is available on GoG. It plays like Theme Park in space and was made by ex-Bullfrog people:

Hah, a package arrived in casa del parents (?) yesterday. I asked the mother to open it.

'It some..weird green box thing' (a degaussing wand!)

So I gave her a challange.

I'll give you 20 euro if you can guess what it is by the end of the day'

Herself and my dad thought it was either a metal detector of some sort or a geiger counter. (apparantly I'm the type of person who buys geiger counters???)

Mother in the end, reckoned it was something to do with fixing arcade machines, possibly the monitor. But wasn't too sure.

    Bingo! :D

Well, here's my inexplicable want of the week. Basically, it's GTA4, minus all the cutscenes:

Oh O1s1n, you and your Geiger Counters!
Always looking for nuclear stockpiles around Dundrum, despite south Dublin not known as a hotbed of atomic weapons research...
Probably why it makes such a good hiding place!
See the odd Iranian diplomatic bag going along, with O1s1n close behind....

Ok human beings of A&R I need a tablet PC for real cheap, like less than € 100 cheap.
Needs to support PDF and have expandable memory probably SD card.

I challange you to locate me one as it's for work and I will eventually be buying 10 to 20 of them for my crew of guys.

Sure wouldn't you get something cheap and filthy from China, sh1tty resistive screen, crap camera, but it'll display PDF files and support sd card expansion.
Google "cheap, nasty android tablet" and you'll probably get a choice and a discount for a bulk buy too.

I would not recommend any tablet at that price range and I've tested most of whats out there (Android, iOS, HP etc) for my last job.
If you went up to 200 then you have some options.

    Edit:
And I ended up literally smashing a couple of those cheap android tablets against a wall as they were absolutely worthless and I preferred using a pen and paper.

Kerbdog owns it as well as the PS2 sequel, cunningly called Tokyo Bus Guide 2.
They currently reside in my collection though.
They are better described as Crazy Taxi but with a lot less Crazy and, happily, zero added Offspring!

I know they'll be cheap and nasty but the lads using them will be in filthy sh1tholes and they will be dropped and damaged on an slmost weekly basis.

The main thing is that they display PDF as all the files will be in this format used mainly for spare parts views and the odd engineers manual for the sort of equipment we repair / supply.

I'm trying to look flash for the big suits in work and if I can pull this off I'll hopefully get ahead of my so called manager who is a twat but due to the set up of the company is somehow in a position higher than me:eek:

Well, I wouldn't recommend any of these but they fit your price point. None of them will really impress anyone as most people will have seen/used or know of the iPad and if they hold/use one of these cheapo tablets they'll not be amazed in any shape or form.

I know nothing of what you do or the company size etc but perhaps its a false economy way of doing things if you get the cheapest option.
If I had some engineers out on sites and they really needed some form of tablet device but would be in rough and ready areas that might damage the device I'd be looking at an iPad (low end and older model) in one of the various speciality cases that protects them from drops and dirt/sand etc.
I've used these cases myself on hiking trips and that sort of thing and they are very good, not cheap but good.

Hey, quit hating on the Crazy Taxi soundtrack, man (of cider)! YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH is pretty much engrained in my consciousness for all eternity. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Reading that, all I can think of is "Yeah yeah, yeah, the cow is back" from Magical Trevor.

Bono totally robbed lyrics wholesale from The Offspring.

Couldn't find anything larger than 500x500 pixels for this image online. I really wanted a larger version so I created a vector from it.
If anyone wants it for backdrops etc the link is below.

I've not included the vector file itself as it could be used to create a much higher resolution version of the image and be used for tshirt or other pro printing and take away from the original artist.

PNG file created from Vector (2025x1823)

This fantastic looking standalone Battlestar mod has just been released. Made in the Freespace 2 engine, for whatever that's worth. Just downloaded so looking forward to giving it a whirl (on a related note: I love NTL broadband - 5MB/S torrents :D)
