Well then you'll be happy to hear we did in fact sign a 17 year old Macedonian goalkeeper

every arsenal fan knows we're a couple of signings away from having a team that is genuinely capable of maintaining a title challenge through the season.

Not every Arsenal fan, this one thinks we're still 4 quality players away from challenging the two Manchester teams.

How would people feel about using Arshavin in a more central role this season. It's where he played in the Euros and he seemed a lot livelier than his usual old self, when the man is interested he can be a class. Just thinking that if Wenger played him in his preferred position he might start to give a sh*t again.

We have Cazorla for that role, but I agree he would be more effective in there.

The more creative talent we have on the pitch the better. If it works for Barca. :p

:pac::pac: Bendtner asks for Del Pieros vacated number 10 Jersey the man's who has no bounds.

I can imagine that conversation :D

NB - "Id like number 10 please"

Juve- "Sorry Nicklas we retired that number when Sandro Del Piero retired in honour of his contribution to this club"

    NB - "Sandra Who?"

In fairness Fuk In No Wan was always on the cards and Wenger delivered.

Was he not talking about a big signing during the week?
Fuk In No Wan must be about 6' 10".

I knew I wouldn't miss much by being out last night as I didn't expect much happening. I actually though we would sign one player, a midfielder, and that would be that.
Now I only have one question --
Who will replace Cazorla in midfield if he gets injured, who have we that can create goals if he's out?

Now Ramsey after Xmas sir jack of wilshere

I think he meant he was going to sign the next autograph in bigger size writing.

AA is already central in the context of thinking the whole world revolves around him.

Just think Ramsey is not the same since his injury and as for Oxo he is being used on the wing. Maybe Arshavin could be used in the middle like he is with Russia.

i'm not a great fan of ramsey at all but maybe he'll come on better this season

as for chamberlain, i think he'll be used more centrally this season be it in the cups, i think thats the plan for him to end up there & his favourite position. he's being used wide for now & that's where most of his league appearances will be but he could play there

arshavin will be gone by next week i think

if rosicky & wilshere were fit along with everyone else i don't think it'd be too much of a problem if cazorla were out for a bit, not ideal but manageable

At times you can understand why Wenger doesnt pay big bucks. Arshavin, Jeffers and Reyes for example cost relatively big money in terms of the money Arsenal willingly pay and the era's they were bought in. All 3 had bags of ability but very questionable attitudes id say. Id have been critical of Wiltord in games. He appeared to be incredibly brainless for the 13m price tag but in fairness to him he had a knack of scoring in big games and especially against Man United who were Arsenals biggest rivals at the time.

To a certain degree Wiltord paid his money back but we got burned on the others i mentioned. Arshavin and Reyes who were initially excellent the most frustrating turnout.

A loss tomorrow and the tabloid back pages will wet themselves.

But **** it, as Lady MacBeth said what's done cannot be undone. May as well sheath the sword until January and try to get behind the team.

    The Spuds only drew.
A win tomorrow will be a great lift now. Onwards and upwards.

Is he not a free agent so can sign anytime he wants like owen? Or is there another rule?

He wasnt a free agent when the window closed. Owen was.

He could still sign for a club who's transfer window is still open.

But dont UEFA usually relax the rules when a big club are involved, a la Mascherano? Maybe they'd do the same for us?

I think tomorrow we'll field this team. Funny feeling that we'll get a few goals in this one!

    Mannone
    Jenkinson - Koscielny - Vermaelen - Gibbs
    Arteta
    Cazorla
    Ox
    --- Walcott
    Podolski
    Giroud

Good 11 in fairness. Its the squad overall is the conundrum. Injuries will happen but who have we to come in. As least Bould doing his best with the defence but if he can make anything of Toto then that will be up there with Jesus walking on water or the story of the loaves and fishes.

Bar Mannone and Jenkinson thats an alright eleven.
    Cant see him starting Chamberlain?

ah jenkinson is improving and has been decent so far. Mannone has talent, he's nervy though and that makes me nervous.

Can't really understand why jenkinson gets so much stick here, he hasn't done anything wrong that I can see so far, nor in the last season for the most part.

I thought similar as well - he looked much better once he'd started his regular run of games.
