Don't forget Arteta he's doing the same job just behind Diaby, it's like a double wall, Cazorla will have a great second half, comfortable showing from the lads.

I expect that from arteta not diaby so I'm impressed :)
We're a little fragile at the back though

Pissed that Wenger started Mert against Suarez today, Kos is the man for this job

Yes but in fairness Mert has had a few vital tackles and is doing well.

I have a feeling once Giroud gets one he will start banging them in. He's getting the chances, he just hasnt gotten that first goal yet to kick start him.

Great goal from two of the new boys :D

He's keeping things calm. It's his strongest asset I think.

Steve Bould should have been promoted years ago!

Diaby was brilliant for ye lot just had to pop in and say that. Really loves playing against us.

edit - some of the hypocrisy is astounding from the match thread though.

Disgraceful performance, lucky to come away with three points. The squad just isn't good enough.
    Only messing.

In fairness, in two of those games (Sunderland & Stoke) the opposition didn't even try to score. In this one Liverpool presented nothing of note up front. The defence has looked comfortable today but there will be tougher tests ahead

It's all well and good beating the relegation fodder, it's the midtable teams we seem to be struggling with.

    Arsenal were excellent.
    Diaby outstanding, Arteta equally outstanding.
Defending everywhere , Boulds touch has been plain to see.
Mannone did a good job, if this is the quality of our 3rd keeper, I'm delighted.

We don't need new signings, even with a striker who's finding his feet.
I had faith in the system, and it's showing we are a different side this season, we may find it hard to score, but piss easy to defend.

This is what we all want to see, no goals going in, then worry about scoring them.

Some of Arsenals passing today was very impressive. Very happy with the performance. Diaby was a different class, Carzola and Pod linking up very well and seem to be happy playing around each other. Defensively very positive, nice and compact. Jenkinson had a mare in the first half but was better in the second.

Giroud made nice runs and held up the play well, just needs that goal to kick on now. Should have scored the sitter in the first and the header in the second but he'll score those in time he knows how to score. Arteta's tackling at times today was brilliant and Podolski's tracking back is giving that little extra bit of cover for the defenders that we've been crying out for for seasons.

Let's kick on now and keep the momentum going. Buzzing after that.

Loved it when Diaby left Sahin for dead in the midfield.

But as was mentioned in commentary its the first time weve kept a three clean sheets from the start of a season in over 80 years impressive no matter what way you look at it.

Really look really organised in defense and for a very long time I dont feel like we'll concede form a set piece.

Giroud so far has been a bit of a Donkey.

Overall we'll comfortably get fourth though there will be a bit of a gap between 4th and 3rd.

i think giroud will come good. his movement is very good off the ball. he really needs to score soon, before he gets into a slump.

That was a perfect away performance. The midfield was so strong.

But in fairness no arsenal players would get into that Liverpool team

Oh I'm not being critical or anything, just warning people not to get ahead of themselves. There's definite signs of improvement in the defence but arguably this the first time in 80 years that Arsenal have met two consecutive teams as defensive as Sunderland/Stoke at this stage of the season

    Positives:

    - best defense in the league
    - ahead of United, Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle in the league
    - undefeated
    - two of our new signings off the mark
    - the real Vermaelen is back
    - Diaby is like a new signing.

Our third choice goalkeeper would have made that Liverpool team today :pac:

    Remember these?

    Cazorla 1
    Podolski 1

    Edit: Good man :).

I'm very impressed with the positions Giroud is taking up. He only need to score to get himself going. He could be an excellent player for us.
Ramsey played very well when he came on too. I had been a bit harsh on him of late.

Hopefully you won't have to strike out the bolded bit in a couple of hours :P

Bar strikers I think we had good options on the bench today I thought.

Where was Chamack today? Surely he cant be that bad to leave off the bench when we have no other striker?
