Where do people see Damiao being played under Rodgers? Ishe be available for Sunday?

I see damiao (who isn't coming) playing in the striker role. Luckily enough, it turns out he's a striker who has played in the striking role for some years now.

    ;):D

The owners paid out £8 million last summer for a a player coming off a phenomenal season 12 months ago. He's now being sold to Stoke for half that.

I'm sorry, but after last year's cluster****, you can't blame the owners for wanting to spend a bit more shrewdly.

Stop talking about the players like they are under the same boss, they arent. You dodnt know how they could have developed, they are only in the door in terms of settling into the place and are sold again. What will you be saying in 18 months if the same happens to Rodgers and we have players like Borini who arent in the next managers plans?, will he be a failure too?

This thread used to be a place you could go for good info and opinions. Lately its turning into a few people who just wanna row with each other.

Why don't you just use the ignore function for people that are ruining the thread for you,and then it's back to good info and opinions.

    Not that hard :)

Bloody hell, it's a bit embarrassing if the Head of Communications is having his tweets censored isn't it?!!! #Jenkeepyourtrapshutuntilitsadonedeal

Not on the Leandro thing, I would say that was entirely deliberate. He's no fool...

Charlie to Stoke. Poor Gareth Bale. If Adam don't get ya, the Shawcross will.

If Rodgers sold a player for 50 mill he would be allowed spend it too. Completely different situations

Meh, these owners are 100% deluded or they are gearing for a resale.

Bayer Leverkusen have just announced that they have an option to buy 18-year-old German forward Samed Yesil back from Liverpool "if certain conditions are met"

I have my chops buddy. I stuck by Lucas and Insua; I've been a big Kelly fan; never said anything bad about Shelvey or Spearing.

But **** you for suggesting that I won't repeat the same for Borini when I haven't said a single negative thing about his performances thus far. Keep on keeping on.

    Loving the faux outrage Lloyd.:D

Never said you criticised Borini, just said that I hope you show the same support to him and others that you are showing to Carroll. You seem like you may be an intelligent guy, so I am sure if you re read my post again you will be able to figure out that is what I said to you, rather than your misunderstanding of my post as being some comment on you saying some imaginary negative comments.

The head of communications shouldn't be talking about the club!? Jesus what planet are you living on?

In an official capacity, on an official LFC account.

He shouldn't be venturing personal opinions about players, or tweeting about obvious transfer targets before a deal is done. You can see the difference right?

Why mention Henderson to me? Not once have I said today that I wanted him sold. I certainly have not suggested swapping him for Dempsey. So I have no idea why you are bringing Henderson up in a reply to me.

My comments were about Carroll and Carroll only and related to him not being in the manager's plan and it being pointless to have him around if that is the case. You seem to agree with what I said about Carroll so really all you have done is post what I already said and some stuff about Henderson.

Im not speaking 'at' you, im speaking 'to' you, as in chatting.

I look forward to seeing you give the same staunch support to Borini and some of the other players under 23 that are actually at the club this season then.

And at the very least it's a strange, strange thing to say to someone with my posting record on this thread.

Samed Yesil is leaving Bayer 04 to join Premier League side Liverpool for a one million Euro plus transfer fee. The Germany U18 international has signed a four-year deal with the English club. Bayer 04 have also secured the option of re-signing the talented striker under certain circumstances.

“You don’t get offers from a top English club every day of the week. The player wanted to take this opportunity. We didn’t want to stand in his way,” said Bayer 04 managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser in explaining the decision to release the 18-year old Turkish-German forward.

“We hope Samed Yesil has the necessary commitment and luck to establish himself at Liverpool. He’s not chosen the easy option but he certainly has the ability to be successful there,” commented Bayer 04 sporting director Rudi Völler.

Yesil is optimistic about the big challenge: “I hope I can make it into the first team in one or two years. Playing for Liverpool is a dream come true for me.”

I presume they have first option to buy him back or something if we decided to sell.

My point is not about Charlie Adam -- it is about how the owners have now realised that we overpaid significantly in previous windows, and are naturally reluctant to do so again.

    Some facts about Dempsey:
    29 years of age
    Last year of contract
Playing at one of the league's smaller clubs
On mutiny from his club so he can join us
Turned down a move to Villa, holding out for us
His club have already signed replacements in Berbatov and Petric

With all of the above in mind, we should be trying to get the price as low as possible -- not just spunk the cash again like we've previously done. If the sagas of Carroll, Adam, Downing etc have taught the owners anything, it's that clubs can get seriously bent over in the transfer market. It would be nice if we weren't the ones getting it in the arse, for once.

Well when you quote someone in your reply, it generally means you are chatting to them directly. So it is easy to see why I took it as you speaking 'to' me as an individual rather than 'at' the thread as a whole. ;)

To be fair, once he joined Liverpool, I don't think he did (opr or someone could you correct me if I've been misled). People had been referring to tweets he had made while still employed by SI.

We didn't really overpay for Adam or Enrique. Those deals weren't ridiculous.

The ridiculous deals were Downing, Henderson and Carroll.

The previous regime made errors on the likes of Cole and Aqualaini.

It doesn't excuse a clamming up though if you aren't where you need to be. You just got to keep getting up off the canvas otherwise you're going to get counted out.

It should be simply, really. Jen Chang should no longer have an individual personality on twitter or any other social media site. That should be one of the prices of taking up such a job. Because when he talks he is now considered a representative of the club.

This would be very, very standard practice in basically any industry as far as I understand. If people can think of examples to the contrary hit me with them - I do find it to be an interesting topic.

'This is Anfield’ reports that Alex Doni, Danny Wilson, Nathan Eccleston, Dani Pacheco, Joe Cole, Jon Flanagan and Jack Robinson are all available for either transfers or loan moves from Liverpool.

    Not DONI!!

Was it an embarrassment when Kenny had, and used, a personal Twitter account when he was Academy Ambassador? What about when he was manager? How's that for an example?

After all this if I have to look at Joe Cole in a Liverpool jersey I think I will punch the balls off myself .

The point is he didn't make them when employed by the club. The tweets people are talking about were made when he was employed as a Journalist and was just giving opinions on players. That has all stopped since he joined Liverpool.
