Sorry for constantly posting twaddle from Twitter but its Transfer Deadline Day and just a bit of fun.

Anyway, if the following is true, maybe there is some truth behind the Damiao link. Maybe the owners have been claiming poverty this window so as to avoid the disaster of last summer? One can hope...

Jen Chang tweeting about Leandro Damiao which has now been removed from twitter?? Very interesting ! #TransferDeadlineDay

I'd put a pretty hefty wager on BR being around the club a lot longer than Andy

I'm more referring to you and your under 25 give them time bollox. Never seemed to think that when you were constantly saying Henderson was nothing but average. I understand now your desperate to flip-flop on that opinion just so you can have another pop at the club and Rodgers though.

Relativity my man, it's all relative.

Relative to what we paid, Henderson isn't up to it.

Relative to our options and what can be recouped if we move him on now, keeping Henderson is a far smarter idea than trading him for Dempsey.

Henderson can still improve, and it makes no sense to move him on at this point.

Fix up, look sharp Chucky - come on now.

    Hours he'd sit there for...

    Love the air freshener!!!!

Wouldn't be strong enough to cover the stench of bulls**t though!!!

This thread used to be a place you could go for good info and opinions. Lately its turning into a few people who just wanna row with each other.

Kind of a good point: My interpretation was that the main purpose of this thread was a source of info on rumours, breaking news, and the like - as opposed to a thread requiring the need to wade through 8 pages of armchair pundits bickering until getting to the next single post containing new info/gossip etc. A separate LFC discussion thread might have more merit imo.

I've a feeling some people I took off ignore at the start of the season will be back on it by tonight. ;):p

We were talking about Chang last night. I went looking for a load of tweets from him he made about good targets for this window before he joined Liverpool. Couldn't find them, I think he deleted all of them after people copped the link with Assaidi.

So sticking is the best option even if the player, Carroll in this case, is not in the manager's plans for the team? Seems a pretty stupid thing to do as the player only eats up resources whilst not getting gametime.

As for loan signings fixing problems. In the short to medium term they can, although I will agree that they are not a long term fix. But they are a better fix than a player the manager does not intend on using.

Some players take time to develop into the team. Take Nani for example, the penny didnt drop with him until he was 23 and had a few years under his belt. Was largely in the margins until then despite 20m going on him.

Sound, Carroll wasnt in Rodgers plans, fair enough. Swapping Henderson for Dempsey is a fking retarded move by any standards applied.

Im absolutely fascinated by the Dempsey situation for a few reasons. These owners sanction a 35m impulse purchase on an unproven player but now skimp their way along and wont pay even 7m for a proven one at the top of his game last 12 months. Extraordinary stuff i have to say.

Bloody hell, it's a bit embarrassing if the Head of Communications is having his tweets censored isn't it?!!! #Jenkeepyourtrapshutuntilitsadonedeal

I am entitled to hold an opinion that the manager is wrong. Having Andy around as a potential option / change up seems a hell of a lot better to me than Sturridge on loan for example.

In any case, Carroll may yet have a part to play for this club under a new manager next summer. We'll see how it all pans out.

I look forward to seeing you give the same staunch support to Borini and some of the other players under 23 that are actually at the club this season then.

Now it's all relative. Sure what we paid for him is a sunk cost, it shouldn't matter. I actually agree moving him on would be a bad idea but watching you constantly have a pop at him to now saying this is a great turn around I must say
but he showed flashes and is young.....he has technical ability that could thrive in this style of pla

The owners paid out £8 million last summer for a a player coming off a phenomenal season 12 months ago. He's now being sold to Stoke for half that.

I'm sorry, but after last year's cluster****, you can't blame the owners for wanting to spend a bit more shrewdly.

I'm not going looking for it but where did the Henderson/dempsey link come from?

So youd rather Andy stayed getting wages while not getting games? Doesn't that go against what you were saying about money the other day?

    Huh, lost you?

I think Andy Carroll definitely will get games if he stays. We are extremely light in terms of strikers right now.
    Melion wrote: »
Who has said they want Henderson sold?

The club, apparantly. And this is being discussed because you have people trying to defend the idea that the club would offer him as a make weight in the Dempsey deal. Keep up now.

Dempsey has removed himself from the Villa move.

If Rodgers sold a player for 50 mill he would be allowed spend it too. Completely different situations

Forgot to add Morgan to the names that impressed me last night, if he can improve his finishing the guy could go a long way. TBH I'd rather give him a shot on a semi-regular basis than bring Sturridge in on loan. :pac:

I have my chops buddy. I stuck by Lucas and Insua; I've been a big Kelly fan; never said anything bad about Shelvey or Spearing.

But **** you for suggesting that I won't repeat the same for Borini when I haven't said a single negative thing about his performances thus far. Keep on keeping on.

He was still a poor purchase - we way overspent and the money could have been better allocated elsewhere. I stand by the posts you quoted.

That said and understood, we can't exit the situation at a financial gain, and we can't bring in a better squad depth player with the money and time available to us right now, so - eventhough he was a poor purchase - it is still better to hold onto him now.

You're smart Chucky, you can grasp this if you really focus.

    Crikey.

    This place is beyond belief.

Holding onto, injuries aside , or 6th choice midfielder in the hope that he turns good before the prime athletic age marker of 25 is what fellas are saying and getting so irate about? Even tho said fellas said he was a poor signing, and no doubt if one was to scroll through various match threads the same player would have had a zero rating and lambasting from all.

And by the by, It's season two now and he is still as cowardly as last season so I'm not sure it can be put down to 'one' bad season.

Like I said, he may or may not turn out to be a decent footballer, but you just can't coach moral fiber.

Jordan 'ghost' Henderson- visible twice in a game, one of them being when he is being substituted.

Our Head of Communications shouldn't be discussing Liverpool on his personal twitter account; or posting about LFC stuff on a message board.

Just like any employee anywhere. It's actually embarrasing that he has been on twitter in a personal capacity since he joined us!!

Why mention Henderson to me? Not once have I said today that I wanted him sold. I certainly have not suggested swapping him for Dempsey. So I have no idea why you are bringing Henderson up in a reply to me.

My comments were about Carroll and Carroll only and related to him not being in the manager's plan and it being pointless to have him around if that is the case. You seem to agree with what I said about Carroll so really all you have done is post what I already said and some stuff about Henderson.
