Berbs was treated disgracefully by Ferguson, would love if he had stayed in the premier league so we could see more of his magic. A player with a touch of class if there ever was one.

Berbatov is a great player but he's also very frustrating because it looks like he's never trying, there must of been some sort of falling out with him and Fergie because whenever he got a run of games he's always score goals. I think he'll do well in the Italian league though so best of luck to him

No he wasn't. It just didn't work out. It happens

    Leaves having given us:
    • A truck load of great memories (Blackburn, Liverpool, West Ham turn, etc)
    • 2 league cup medals
    • 2 Premiership winners medals in his back pocket. One of those medals coming in the season where he was joint top goal scorer in the league.

Not bad for someone it "didn't work out" for, to be fair. £4 million is a bargain.

    +1

Good luck to him. That league will suit his style.

Surely that's a typo from Sky. Or else Dembele is doing a tour of the country. Chap must really like doing medicals.

WTF is he going to play. They just signed Rodwell and Yaya also plays the same role. Very odd.

Stinks of "we don't want anyone else to get him"

This has to be a mistake. It's not even on the SSN website.

It was a mistake on Sky Sports' part i think.

    Edit - snap ^^^^^^

Fergie mustn't rate the player. If he did, surely Utd would appeal more to him than Spurs.

Could be Fergie thinking that Anderson can do a similar job, which he can, when fit.

I had a mad dream last night actually. I was the United manager and I was talking to Brendan Rodgers in the back garden of the house I used to live in. I was trying to sign Maxi Rodriguez to play in United's midfield but I couldn't remember his name and kept calling him Kily Gonzalez.

We eventually came to an agreement in a very civil manner where I would buy a player from Liverpool who had never played from the club, when I meant to say a player who has already left the club. There was a lot wrong with that dream really.

Rooney and Anderson both fat.

Is it just me or do some posters have a habit of turning on players in the squad when a transfer deal falls through.

Surely there is something else besides weight we can heckle them with.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,075 ✭✭✭IamtheWalrus

Powerful on the ball but lacks an end product as was seen on Saturday.

I actually hate transfer windows. Loved the old days when you could just buy players at any time.

they are professional athletes earning many millions every year. why shouldn't they be criticised for not being able to stay fit?

This seems to happen quite regularly . . A player has a couple of good games (last season) and then plays well against United and some fans go OTT about their ability .

I remember papa dioup doing the same thing (and scoring a cracker) against United for Fulham couple of seasons ago. He was very good against us and all over the place and where is he now. Not saying Dembele isnt better, but I am confident that he's not definitley better (certainly not at the moment) then what we have, otherwise we would of made a serious attempt to sign him. Anybody who has any doubts should refer to the Van Persie Signing. Nobody thought fergie would be afforded the luxury of spending that much on a player that age, and I hazzard a guess if he really wanted Dembele, he would of been facilitated.

Anderson will be given the season to prove his worth. There is (for me anyways) no doubt of his ability and I think he could be one of the best CMs in the world but the question mark is over fitness and application. If he can have an injury free season there will be no more excuses and we will find out how good he really is. I think he can be great (particularly as a partnership with Cleverley) but he needs a consistant run in the team to prove his worth.

I am also excited to see cleverley have a good run at the first team. He is technically good and with Kaga I think we could have a superb team to match Madrid/Barca . .

I see carrick as a squad player now (hes better then most other teams subs in midfield) with either Cleverley/anderson/Kaga starting or two of the three and two wingers. Im very happy with that and given the fact that Jones (if fit) can play in CM and we have scholes in reserve, I dont see Dembele starting at the club.
