Jaysus I don't look at this thread and it explodes. Tbh I am not surprised at this at all and given some of the players we have been linked with over the last few weeks I don't think the powers that be in Arsenal are either. Timing could have been better but tbh Walcott has flattered to deceive over the last few years. He does come up with a few good goals but he is extremely inconsistent and has wasted an awful lot of good opportunities and positions in games. At best this season I had him down as a squad player.

I can't believe the negativity that is flying around in here at the moment. We are in a far better position this year than we were last year. I am convinced that we have an absolute gem with Santi and he could turn out to be the player of the season. I am also very happy with the two new frontmen and with a couple more games I believe they will prove to be quite potent.

At the end of the day we do not want players who won't give 100% for the team and I believe that Walcott is one of those players.

If Arsenal could sign someone able to run with their head up, he'd be leaps and bounds over walcott.

Not saying I'm right, but RvP, Song and Theo all seem up their own arse.

Well I dont know tbh but would that list also include Henry, Fabregas, Flamini, Nasri, Adebayor etc.

Admittedly, it was good riddance to some of them but when there is a consistent trend like in the last few years, you cant just blame the players. I just feel there is something wrong somewhere and these sort of exodus by key players is unsustainable in the long run.

Losing Walcott after all the effort put into him though.... It would be very disappointing if he went on to clean up at another club.

Walcott was dropped for the ox at the euros and he couldn't Ervin ahead of Milner
He never set the world alight with us but yet he wants more money than Verm, Kos, and sanga to name 3

I'd sell him and buy Sinclair better player altogether

He's better at running with his head down than he was, but he's still running with his head down. I'm not sure that he'll ever grow out of it, and really, it's better to have players who want to be there.

I'd still keep him if he wanted to stay, but I wouldn't be overjoyed, and I'm not deeply saddened either. He's too uneven to feel strongly about.

Henry's body wasn't as it was and he wanted to win a CL.

Fabregas wanted to go back to Barcelona to be the hometown hero and win easy trophies - not working like that for now though.

Flamini left on a free right? So, money. And we know Nasri and Adebayor left for money. The wages Chelsea and City pay, even United, we can't compete with if we want to stay with the sustainable model.

Walcott looks for £100k (rumoured) at Arsenal and the club doesn't feel that's reasonable, but City and Chelsea can pay it without batting an eye lid.

I've been very critical of Walcott over the years but I have to say he improved a lot over the last two seasons. He became a lot more productive. He'd certainly be a loss to you and a good signing for Manchester City. No idea why he'd even consider going to Liverpool though (as the papers are reporting), that would definitely be a step backwards.

Pretty shocked that people would be happy to see Walcott leave. If he does that will be:

    Song: 1 goal 11 assists
    Walcott: 8 goals 11 assists
Van Persie: 30 goals 10 assists

You can't get rid of your 3 most productive players in one transfer window. Ridiculous.

There is a difference between negativity and critiquing.

I am just curious but can you expatiate on why you think we are in a better position than last year?

You rightly mentioned that Santi is turning out to be a gem of a player- good! Player of the season? I am not sure but we never can tell. I am also happy with Giroud and to some extent Poldoski and I agree it will take time to see results.

My arguement is that the consistent exodus of players doesnt bode well for the team as a collective. It is just like an organisation where there is an issue with job satisfaction, it leads to high turnover of employees and insurbodination.

It is also striking that every player that decides to leave the club becomes a villain overnight and we get a report sheet of all their inadequacies. Perharps with all the passion we have for the club, we just need some form of objectivity as well.

    If he goes, he goes.
No point moaning about it, just another half hearted player out the door.

Weather we wanted the players sold or not, I think it's fair to call us a selling club now

I'm of the same opinion as you, sign and stay and show some fight for the jersey
    Or good luck to ya

If Walcott goes to City we may as well be a feeder club. They get our players, our shareholders get their money. Incredible, if he goes for 15-20, we'd have made 20-25m profit in this transfer window, pretty sure we made a profit last transfer window too. Unbelievable.

Ibrahim Afellay is a decent young player being wasted away at Barcelona. We were meant to be interested in him before he went there and apparently Barcelona are hoping to send him on loan - and Wenger has being making a lot of noises about loan deals. Be perfect cover if Walcott does go.

What Im really worried about is next summer If we dont get Champions league. We have consistenly made the top 4 and thats great for the club but It still hasnt stopped us losing our best players. Whats going to happen If we dont get It? I dont even want to think about It.

    Robbed from Twitter:
Theo Walcott tried to sign his name on the contract but lost control of the pen and overran it

Spurs have a bid accepted for Dembele, would love to see us match that bid.

Apparently an English team have agreed terms with Barca for him. If it's Arsenal I'd say Walcott's a gonner.

I think he actually supports Liverpool.

    He does indeed.

The price being mooted is 12m which doesn't seem nearly what we could be getting for him.

    Be interesting few days.

And all the rumours over Twitter are linking Bendtner to AC Milan.

Wonder where Clint Dempsey will end up?!

The Barcastuff twitter account reckons Affelay is Schalke bound  I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

As to Bendtner - Stoke or Milan ? I know what I'd choose:D

After checking the rumour mill and the news is --- We're in for EVERYBODY.
Unbelievable rubbish being written but someone will inevitably be right.
