Why do people cheat on their partners?

I suppose this is a silly question but for the life of me I just can't understand why men cheat on their gf! A male friend of mine confided in me that he recently slept with someone else on a night out, a one night stand! He says he loves his girl, whom I also know! But how the hell can he love his girl and cheat, needless to say I had a few things to say to him but jeeze if your not happy get out! I just don't understand it, if your happy you don't stray, drunk or not. Blaming the demon drink is a poor excuse.

Maybe someone on here has a few things to say regarding the matter!

Probably for the same reasons women cheat on their boyfriends - opportunity, boredom, 'grass is greener on the other side' syndrome etc. etc.

In general I'd guess is because the thrill of picking someone up for a one night stand is completely different to taking your girlfriend out.

If I am with someone I am with them though, I don't feel the need to cheat, but I am a flirt.

My biggest problem with it is that he did it unprotected and didn't tell his girlfriend who he probably doesn't use condoms with. He is opening her up to a huge risk. What a fcuking cnut your friend is.

Actually a girl once started chatting me up in a infamous Dublin nightclub smoking area. I told her I had a girlfriend and her response was that she basically, "so what" and that said, "I thought all guys cheat".

Because sex usually becomes stale after a while with the same person and sometimes they cannot resist temptation when present with the opportunity to sleep with someone different. It's exciting and feels different and fresh and all that stuff.

Personally, Blue-eyes (because i would presume that was how you intended to spell it), I would agree with you. But, I'm not so sure you are in the right forum.
