I think that will be the big problem now. We don't exactly have a lot of wage free right now so need to sell before we can buy. It's not down to transfer fees but rather wages that we don't have right now due to having so many high earners on the books.

I'd hazard a guess that those three are on between £50,000 and £70,000 per week. Nothing to the likes of City and Chelsea but a hell of a lot to teams like us.

I agree, and this is the reason why we aren't in the market yet for another "fairly big earner" by our standards.

Yeah we pretty much broke even.

And are pretty much stronger than last season I reckon!

Although I still think 1 or 2 more bodies are needed in before the transfer window closes.

I can't see arsenal selling and payin a percentage of any of their wages until their contract runs out like Liverpool did recently. Think that is he only way we will offload any of em. We're stuck with B52 til he leaves on a free!!

I dont know I think we could and might shift Bendtner he has been linked with Milan a lot the last few days, I think there are plenty of clb who would take him.

Now Denilson on the other hand whos on a reported 50k a week were stuck with I reckon until his contracts up.

Bendtner or his agent have been sayin there are loads of top clubs in for him but 4 days before the window shuts he's still here! I'd imagine there are loads of clubs in for him especially after his good euros but reckon its his wages holding it all up.

He could really do with a move. His career has really stalled and I think he could do a good job at a lot of clubs.

Bendtners contracted until 2014, and doesn't want to play for Arsenal anymore.
So it's pretty much out of the club & Wengers hands at this stage.
    Loan deal maybe?

They buy Song and sell Fabregas, can't see it.:)
But it probably would be enticing for him, 3 spanish midfielders.

Would be unbelievable but won't happen. Cesc pushed for the move last year out of the club, so doubt he will want to come back any time soon barring some kind of catastrophe in Barca.

Loan might be the only option!! But if the club agreed to pay the balance on his wages that he gets from another club we might be able to get rid completely. Not an ideal situation but would free up some funds. Assuming of course that wages are the problem with him leaving

I think he has said some where before that he's like to come back later in his carer if he's welcome. I could be completely wrong though and it may very well have just been fodder.

I seem to remember him saying something similar alright. No chance of it now though, its too soon. I wonder if Wenger had been a bit bolder in the market 2 - 3 years ago would the likes of fab and Nasri stayed on. I know Fabregas always wanted to return to Spain and he made no secret of it but he did seem a loyal type.
Then again I always thought Van Persie was loyal to the club so what do I know

Is anyone seriously expecting another big name before the window shuts? Im hoping for one more but not expecting it tbh

Not expecting it all myself, I do hope one more will come in though.

there's a story that Milan want Denilson & that he can be recalled from his loan if he's being sold on

Hmmm bad news is mounting no good news on the horizon.

The Times in England are reporting Theo has rejected his contract offer, alsoreports saying Dembele is on his way to Spurs.

If we loose Theo, the dutch ahole, and Song in one summer it would be worse than last summer really. Wenger be pushed into painic buys again on final day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Can't see it happening but the talk is that if/when Theo leaves it may be to City with Dzeko coming the other way.
Doubt we could afford his wages though.

If Theo goes it will be a shambles of a summer.

Depends on how the next 3 days pan out. I'm still optimistic. Theo can be replaced.

Cazorla can take over RW now I guess, but it looks like we'll need another attacking player, be it a winger or AM

Out the door with him, hope it don't hit him on the way out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭brianregan09

Theo can **** off so he can , He's some big ego for a lad that never fulfiled his potential and is inconsistent as a sunday league player, He wouldn't be half as missed as Song and VP

Wenger stabbed through the heart again. This will really upset/annoy him I'd imagine.

Yeh ive never been his biggest fan but if he does go this late it will be a shamble he still did provide a goodfew goalslast year along with assists. We have to stop loosing our first teamers we need to build a team not a new every season.

Hopefully city come after him will get top money of them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,263 ✭✭✭shano_88

Seriously, we can't keep selling our best players. Its embarrassing.
