In our first two games we played against teams set up to defend and we played far too slow. Stroking the ball slowly around midfield played a bit into their hands allowing them to get back into position. Very little quick ball and first-time crosses.
Against Liverpool we will get back to our quick counter attacking ways and we will use our wide men better. I think we can get three points there. While I like Diaby I feel he has been a bit slow in passing and he should get the ball quicker to the likes of Carzola and Arteta who can pick out the runners much easier.

I know that Ian Wright can be erratic and talks a lot sh**e sometimes but he has taken it to a very funny level suggesting that Wenger buys Defoe as replacement for RVP :D

If only Eduardo didn't suffer that injury !!!

Reportedly someone has bought over £680,000 worth of shares today, no reports on who though as of yet. I wonder is it Usmanov again.

Just said id throw up the U21s victory of Blackburn over the weekend. Eisfield and Aneke really are the stand out players for me so far over their last two matches for me. Also with Gnarby and Chuba Akpom only being 17 and 16 years old, the future looks bright in the Arsenal ranks.

How is our 43 year old goalkeeping coach allowed be part of the under 21s team? Do you get an Olympics style number of over 21s allowed per match day?

Speaking of goalies, is Woj back for the Liverpool game? I don't fancy Mannone or Fabianski in goal against them.

As far as i know they are allowed around 2 or maybe a few more players over the age of 21 in the squad for each match.

Looks like Lansbury is off to Forest in a 1 million deal.

Seems Henri Lansbury could be on his way to Notts Forest. Still need to offload at least 3 or 4 more to free up the books somewhat.

Match against Liverpool should be fairly open anyway. One thing that really, really annoys me with Diaby is how when the ball is played to him he waits for it to get to him and then past him rather than going to it. Very predictable.

Shame about Lansbury. He's one I thought was going to break through. Ah well, they can't all make the first team.

I thought Everton had signed him?

The closer it gets to the transfer deadline the less optimistic I am about us signing anyone :(

No links with anyone in the paper even. I wont be too happy if we are finished our business. Will feel like one step forward and two steps back again.

Hopefully Wenger is just playin his cards close to his chest and he does a bit of business before the end.

He tried very hard all the time in fairness and loved the club but was just not up to the standard required i'm afraid. Liked him though.

In fairness, they said we had signed M'Vila and Sahin. Arsenal said nothing.

I actually remember th M'Vila one as being reported as done - they just wanted to wait till after the Euro's to announce it.

With hindsight, why the hell would it make any difference if you waited till after the Euros or announced it then?? The sh1t us fans believe when we want to.

If you want to believe someone, believe Wenger. He said something like looking to bring in 2-3 players and he knows how transfer hungry we fans are. No way would he suggest stuff like that if he's not actually looking.

But he also said he would only sign a DM of quality if one comes up, which suggests that none has come up.
I don't think we can ever second guess Arsene Wenger.
Sometimes when he has a player in mind he will say nothing.

If Lansbury goes to Forest for £1M, we're actually £10m in profit.

And if Bendtner, Chamakh and Arshavin are gone, that's a fair chunk out of the wage bill.

I'll be at EP. Leaving the smart phone at home, taking the nokia that just calls and texts and the battery lasts (I sh*t you not) 7-10 days.

So it'll be very odd returning to the world of The Arsenal, not knowing ho we signed or if we won on the weekend!

I think that will be the big problem now. We don't exactly have a lot of wage free right now so need to sell before we can buy. It's not down to transfer fees but rather wages that we don't have right now due to having so many high earners on the books.

I'd hazard a guess that those three are on between £50,000 and £70,000 per week. Nothing to the likes of City and Chelsea but a hell of a lot to teams like us.
