Kryogen - Yeah but that article was from before the weekend. Things seem to have changed since then. Sure didn't he storm out of Old Trafford at the weekend. FACT! ;)

He also slapped Fergie across the face with a fish I heard

I heard that too. Just now. After you said it.

Just on the Bateman/ Gumb situation. As someone who's more of a lurker in this thread I always found Bateman quiet funny, OTT definitely but always seemed harmless before the occasional outbursts! If only we could have gotten his views on Fulhams second goal :pac:

Jamie Gumb... a modern day keyboard-Rocky

    Deserved a second chance IMO

I thought Sean Batemans perma ban was harsh in the first place.

Jame Gumb was a good poster IMO, gave valid points and opinions and was obviously a very passionate Utd fan.

I think I would be okay with Nani leaving for £45-£50m but it's too late at this stage to find a replacement and we can't rely on Young on the left wing.
That said, there's very little you can do with that money to find a player of Nani's calibre.

If Spurs sign Dembele then we can forget about signing him in the future. He offers a lot to the team, perfect time to sign him as he has only year left on his contract (if reports are true).

To sign players of his quality we have to spend 20million or above easily. If Spurs can make a bid that can be accepted, then surely we too can? As much as them, we too need a CM like Dembele.

Carrick, Dembele, Anderson, Cleverley, Scholes will be good options to play in the midfield, Dembele is versatile to play as winger/AM too.

Will be one of our best ever transfer window if we can sign a CM (Dembele).

Not a chance he'd leave for that... not even if you tried to cheat in football manager!

    Nothing is impossible in FM.

Offer him to club, accpet any bid. Once you have to accpet the transfer, open Real time editor and increase the bid to whatever amount you have to. If the buying team doesn't have cash, increase their transfer budget. :pac:

Don't know if this has been suggested already, but there's another way of looking at the "Nani reduced his wage demands" angle. That makes it sound like he's desperate to stay, but the club don't want him.

It's possible he was looking for ridiculous wages to begin with and the club refused. Just because he has reduced his demands, doesn't mean they're reasonable. His reduced request may still be way higher than what the club were originally offering.

Anyway, I really hope he doesn't leave.

we dont know whats going on behind the scenes but selling Nani would be a disaster for the club, end of story!

we dont have many world class players, he is one.

What if Nani has been acting the bollix brhind the scenes or developed a bad attitude? Would ye still reward him with a new contract?

    Because I wouldn't.

I'll miss Bateman/Gumb. The fotum needs new characters or it just becomes the same old boring heads making "hyuck hyuc durr"in jokes while rest of us scratch our heads and hope we never get that way.

No I wouldn't give a new contract in those circumstances. I wouldn't have played him against Everton either and I would have sold him long before now. I reckon SAF wouldn't have played him v Everton in those circumstances and would also have sold him earlier.

so its probably safe to assume he is not causing problems behind the scenes, well not up till Saturday anyway and even then I would be surprised based on his history.

But sure aren't you a fairly new character yourself? As am I.

You don't need histrionics and persecution complexes to have interesting discussions. Or at least I don't.

In fact those are the antithesis of interesting discussion.

I'm of the opinion that they simply were too far apart on personal terms and Ferguson and Gill have decided to try cash in on him now. Doubt there is anything more to it.
I firmly believe though that if he is sold its to try free up money for someone else. Dembele would be my bet.

Nani is good player, perhaps world class on his day but hes also very inconsistent. It would not be the end of the world he left. I would be more upset if it was Valencia.

United have lost far better players than Nani in the past and moved on.

What's started the Nani debate? Is he being sold?

    Because Miguel Delaney says so.

We don't know, but the rags are reporting problems with his contract renewal.

Rumours of a 15m buyout clause for Dembele, not sure how true, if thats the case then I think its mental they havent bid for him. They'd nearly raise that by shifting the deadwood in the squad.

Fulham might take Berbatov off us as well with Jol connection.

Could Dembele play the Carrick role ye reckon lads?

Unless of course Fergie is moving away from his wingers philosophy and going to channel the attack through the centre primarily. That would make it a different proposition for me, but one I have not considered as of yet.

I think this is a very good point and I can actually see it happening. I thought in the first two league games you could see signs of it happening or trying to happen.

Agreed. Look at the proper legends that have come and gone from the club yet we have always kicked on. I'm not the biggest fan of Nani but regardless of what I think, If Fergie thought he was as good as people here are making him out to be why would there be even talk of him being sold?

I trust the manager and his judgement.

Thats a good question. At Fulham he has Diarra backing him up, before that Murphy.

Also if Nani does go then I can see Shinji playing a lot as a wide playmaker like Silva does for City.

Seems a lot of love for Dembele in here. If he's that good, why are none of the big clubs after him?

Madrid were reportedly interested in him a few weeks back.

The reason I adk is if he can't then we will be very top heavy with partners for MC but not very many replacemrnts fof him.

ManUtd are big club and rumors that we made bid for him.

Spurs are also big club (not as big as) and they are interested to sign him.

Bid from Fiorentina for Berba has been accepted apparently, over to Berba now.

however, i heard yesterday that the wage offer from them is poor as they cant afford to pay his wages so its hard to know if berba will accept it.

    United
    Spurs
    Madrid

they not big enough for you? and after the weekend, you can bet if he doesnt move in the next 4 days, he will be one of the hottest "available" players in the game over the coming 10 months.

and its not just us that have the love for him, read any decent report about the game on saturday and you will see how highly people rated his performance.
