I'd drop Sterling, I think it's quite an easy decision too.

Was a great goal from Skrtel. Not intending to p1ss on anyone's chips but yet again Skrtel's awareness and sometimes his concentration costs him and us. He plays so well today and then does something you would crucify an u-16 for if they did it. Its not just these past 2 games either.

Lots of good performances but glaring for me at times when you have nobody to lead the line. City picked up far too much possession in first half hour. It takes super human effort to keep that work rate up for a season that we had in the last hour. If we are gonna play like that for a season we need another striker, end of, Suarez and Borini cant do that twice a week for a season and i dont see how Rodgers can play that type of game without another option up there.

Starting midfield has to be Lucas-Allen-Sahin imo. So up front it should be Suarez plus two out of Borini, Gerrard and Sterling

    Allen, Sahin and Gerrard anyone?

Why? What did he do to warrant being dropped before anyone?

    No, Lucas has to play

His over-all play isn't good enough. Doesn't offer enough to have him ahead of Suarez or Borini. Gerrard's obviously never going to be dropped either.

It should be said Pepe didn't just flap at the goal. He had quite a few moments in the game that were not great.

Not all the time, we dont have to have a holding/tackler in there, i liked ow Shelvey,Gerrard and Allen worked in there, and you could just slot Sahin in there for Jonjo. Sterling was excellent, warrants his place.

Presumably not for a week or two.

He's looked off the pace. For the time being I think we should leave him out or sub him early and ease him in. It'll pay off in the long term.

Meh he was once ridiculously underrated and now he's a bit overrated.

I wouldn't be too critical of Skrtel. Yeah, he messed up for the goal today and the penalty last week, but he's been asked to play different as are all the other defenders and keeper.

They'll be playing it out from the back a lot this season rather than hitting it long and whilst Skrtel obviously should have looked up, this will all come more natural to himself and other as the season goes on. It's not an overnight job.

Did he, fair enough I haven't seen it again. He did have a few superman type leaps towards crosses that he got nowhere near. That said he offers so much in the possession system that he didn't get to express last season. He is so comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Rodgers saying he wants more signings, must be a striker surely?

didn't see the match, what's the story with Lucas? Injured or just out for that match?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Any aspirations Henderson had to play in a side that aim to challenge for the top IV are at least justified by his potential

Charlie and Jay however would want to spend a weekend with Pete Doherty to genuinely believe in any aspirations they may have had to do similar

What was bad about his all-round game? He hardly ever gave away possession. Held his width and always looked for the ball. He worked really hard without it. For a 17 year old to show the kind of courage he did in such a big game today was incredible. I'll say also that I think compared to most people his all-round game is fantastic in that set-up as while some of the other players are getting used to the Rodgers system that kid has played like that in the same system since he was 15. He always looks like he knows what he should be doing. Borini worked hard but he offered none of Sterling's threat with the ball.

Oliver Kay says Lucas' injury is his thigh and not a recurrence of his knee injury.

Happy overall with a draw but we should have won it in fairness. It was disappointing to gift them a goal which could have being prevented so late on but that's football.
Some positives for sure and can only get better with more games and Sahin gelling into the team.

    This!!

If we had signed Gaston Ramirez during the summer and he played like Sterling did today everyone would be creaming themselves. Or if Raheems surname was Sterlinio.

He was excellent today, didnt do a thing wrong bar getting a bit tired at the end, was a constant threat and will do the same to every defence in the league.

Alonso convinces Sahin to sign, club and fans convince him to stay and Sahin convinces Hummels to sign. Then we're sorted.

fair play to sterling, looks good against the league champions, skyrtel unlucky he had a great game leaving out the backpass, borrini looks like he really needs a goal and needs to be more central, caroll is a good plan b, played well when he came on.

any word on how long lucas is out for? heard he was injured in the warm up but was decided to risk him..

I thought that was fairly obvious from where he was holding!

Midfield options of Lucas, Gerrard, Sahin, Allen, Shelvey & Henderson is really great.
