If Liverpool win today they have more points than us :)

    You reminded me of this:

Fans at the game saying on Twitter that Arteta punched the corner flag on his way off - annoyed we didn't come away with the win. I like the fire in his belly.

All this "trying to win with kids" thing can finally stop. The "kids" we have brought in lately have been the Ox, Jenkinson, Miyachi - all looking capable of playing EPL football on a regular football.

The rest have been experienced internationals - aside from Arteta obviously, but he'd probably start for any other national side - Mertesacker, Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla, Santos - even last season's loan deals like Benayoun. Getting the experience back into the side. Considered what little money Wenger has to play around with with you look at what City and Chelsea have we're doing good and I'm excited for this season.

I do wonder why we can't get Joel Campbell a permit though. He looks a right player and has played full international games for Costa Rica - how can United get a permit for their new Mexican kid when he's never played a full international and we can't get one for Campbell?

Sunderland and Stoke have been our bogey teams in recent years. We've had two good performances with two clean sheets against them. That wouldnt have happened last year. We'd probably have lost at least one of them.

I'd much rather our position than Liverpool's.

Bogey teams? The last 3 years we've taken 24 points from 36 against them.

Not happy with that all. Rarely threatened and never really looked like scoring. We have no RVP to get the scores for us now so we need an out and out scorer.
    180 mins and no goals.
Comparing it to things this time last season is stupid too. Goals win games and we have scored none.

So did you expect Podolski and Giroud to not need any time to gel with the team and bang in goals straight away? They are two proven out and out goal scorer what more would you have Wenger do? That traitor is gone good riddance to him deal with it we will score goals people need to stop whinging and panicing after two games.

Comparing last season top scorer for Arsenal to a completely new forward line up after two games is equally as stupid.

Let's win the league's possession standings like we did last season, that'll do eh?

It sure is , i was expecting it from the Song fans TBH, as he walked away from this new style of Arsenal defending all over the pitch.:D

Finishing 4th, with 3 new players after losing the top scorer in the league, that'll do.:P

Seen as I'm mainly talking to men ye all know what a difference a few inches can make :pac:

Seriously though, if that Giroud lob/wicked shot had gone in we'd be all like the cats that got the cream and there would be no mention of the traitor and how we can't score without him - we did fine for 7 seasons when he was in the injury room living off the club, we'll do fine now that he has gone to United.

Will we get 4th without winning though? I wouldn't have thought so but then again I do focus on wins too much.

Well we certainly won't get there if we lose, we haven't lost yet so there are better things to come from a team that hasn't gelled yet.
Let me get this straight, you are not only whinging because we aren't top of the league but now you believe we can't finish 4th because of 2 draws?

The last 7 times we've played stoke we've only won 3 of them afaik.

A few weeks ago most posters agreed give the team a chance will take time no moaning
Two decent draws the team looks solid but not spectacular. Sure enough the team needs time
And what do we get nothing but moaning

Think we seen both sides of diaby today the good and bad
Think he will be a big asset this season if not a def starter every game

He was hot & cold but he was immense against Crouch and he was challenging everywhere.
As was most of the players which is really reassuring to see.
Bould & Wenger has really got the foundations right, now to build on the attacking aspect in the final third.
I don't think we need another striker, the midfield will get better going forward, as will the front 3.

Winning is the only way we'll do it, not passing it around and "dominating" a team 0-0. Only solace is Spurs' **** start. As early as it is when Chelsea easily turn over 2 poor teams and Newcastle we create 1 clear chance over 180 minutes against lower midtable teams.
We can still get 4th but that's still one spot worse than last year.

    .
We just nicked 4th at the end last season, Newcastle should have overtaken us the way they were playing.
Chelsea, Man U, Man City will all have their problems against any team on any given day, it's football.
We aren't as bad as you make out.

Maybe your right, As I posted earlier I think we need to buy players to bloster the squad more than sign genuine starters

We'll be "fine", I just would've liked if we could've had a higher target than 4th after 2 matches.

I'm actually pretty happy with the two displays. It was obvious that Poldi, Giroud, Cazorla and Diaby were all trying one-twos, run-ons and through balls that weren't coming off as they still don't know how each other play yet. They need time to develop that "mind-reading" that great teams have.

Edited to add: This is where football becomes a team game, not individual players.

And, at least they're trying. A definite improvement on some players we've had.

I thought we were quite good today , Like Giroud coud have done better with the chip by playing in ramsey , But look at it this way this time last year we lost 8-2 to United so no goals conceded after 2 games is fine by me , we'd one point from 3 last year , We've 2 from 2 this year, One or two late additions and we'll be fine, Great to be able to bring the likes of Walcott and Ox off the bench

But that isn't the club, players or managers fault, it's the fault of the 3 teams above us on the spending table, Man U, Man City & Chelsea.
How can we expect more being realistic?
I expect us to have CL football with that squad anything else is absolutely fantastic.

It is disappointing that we don't score and win, but I am really happy that we had two relatively comfortable clean sheets.

As said, it needs a little patience, hopefully we won't be that far away from the leaders of the table.
There is a certain pressure in chasing the other teams.

We were very good defensively and organised very well, but we really should be winning these games, it's not good enough, but we will get better.
