    Against two shite teams.

I'm feeling massively negative right now, we've got the same problem as last season, no creativity whatsoever. I could swear there was someone who papered over that problem last season but we haven't got that now.

keep the faith brother. the two teams we played against had 8 lads behond the ball all match. We've got 3 internationals bedding into the team still. Fair enough we all know it's not been good enough, but i'm confident we'll do better.

We didn't beat them last season in both games and you're whinging like the league is over.
We could do with a striker like RVP, but that will never happen.

Jesus Christ are we ****ing Liverpool or something!? We shouldn't be happy or content with 2 points from the first 2 matches against poor teams. The usual positives are being trotted out but other than our defence (against two teams who set out to defend) it's the same old crap, loads of possession, almost created this chance and that chance but never actually did it.

Rumours last night seem to suggest Chamakh is off to Malaga on loan, Bendtner's days are done, and Park has seen his squad number taken off him - so if all three are out the door, that suggests at least one more coming in.

I definitely see us bringing in a midfield player. No-one seems to have given a solid bid for M'Vila - maybe AW is waiting for the window to draw to a close and see if he can knock a million or two off the fee?

I think Ramsey looked very good when he came on.

Tbh I'd take the two scoreless draws over a win and a loss at the moment. We look much stronger in midfield and defense than United do at the moment. The goals will come.

My dissappointment at not winning is offset by my excitement about how downright solid the team were in the two games. Last season I'm full sure we'd have conseded in one or both those games.

Neither Sunderland or Stoke are poor teams. Give the team a chance will ya. Its pretty much a new team and will take time to settle

I know we have Wilshere coming back, but i think we need another creative midfielder alongside Cazorla.
    More chances the merrier.

Thierry Henry took 9 games to score his first goal, Robert Pires scored just 4 goals in 33 league games in his first season.

    Justsaying

That's probaby who you should be supporting :D
The only answer the whingers have right now for this problem would be to spend money, that's not going to happen.
Our strike force is what it is, that may change in January, but this team needs time.

Liverpool shipped 3 goals last weekend and are probably going to lose to City today. No we're not liverpool.

    Still though, Wenger out!! :P

It needed a pre-season which it didn't get. The Euros followed by long distance travel to Indonesia is not the best way to get ready for the Premier League

    Agreed.
The boo boys always make themselves known in the first few games, it's a pity they can't get behind the boys when they most need it.

I'm not criticising any particular players, the tactics are the problem and I can't see a simple way to remedy it. Unless we had the Barcelona midfielders I wouldn't be confident of playing through teams as we seem to be trying to do.

+1 on this if there one thing I think we really have done wrong ths summer was our pre season, the like of Giroudand Podolski only having one game in pre season is shocking they need a few games to gel and a few pre season games could have worked wonders.

We finally look like we can hold onto a lead and it's a problem?
Bould has set us up really well
I said to you before , there's more to football than goals and assists, and that's all you seem to recognise.
I think we have a foundation and some fanstastic talent out there that given time can be as good as we have been last season, possibly better.

I thought we went long today way more than we usually do

    disappointing second half.

still though, could still be one of the better games away at stoke - they done nothing today.

be interesting to see how the defence does against a team that offers a bit more than the last two

arsenal controlling things again & no breakthrough, the sooner somebody - anybody - scores the better :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,379 ✭✭✭Maire2009

Wenger: 'Offensively we have work to do because we miss accuracy in the final third… we should have won the game'

Wenger: 'Stoke defended well and they were happy with a point. It is two points dropped but it is difficult to take points here'

I think the boss knows the front line still needs work - given that 2/3 are completely different to last season, one shouldn't need to be told it'll need time to gel and work will have to be done on the training ground.

 Wait until we have a lead and see how we look, we played against two teams who set out to defend against us and last week Sunderland had a great chance early on but luckily hit it straight at Chesney. We "almost" created chances plenty of times which is going to happen when a team spends an hour 20-30 yards from the opponents' goal. This week what chances did we create? We could've had a penalty and so could Stoke, we did **** all else.

I don't have a solution, and I don't see an obvious one but forgive me if I'm not happy with a couple of 0-0s against the teams who finished 13th and 14th last season.

Who we didn't beat last season either, but were you whinging then?
BTW neither of the top 4 could manage better either last year, but you expect more right?

We are making chances, dominating the ball and we just need that cutting edge in the final third, which will come with time.
But by all means spend 4 pages whinging that the club is ****ed.

I'd take the extra point every time.

Oh come on! 13th and 14th last season!

Stoke away is a tough game for any team. A point isnt the worst result. Ok maybe we should have been beating Sunderland at home but we have a new strike force and will take time. If we lost the games then go mad but we didnt and we looked solid in both.

Wenger: 'Defensively we had no problem. In the air we dealt very well - they have six basketball players!'

He's a comic genius ha ha

i don't think anyone is happy with the two results but you're massively overreacting Button.

Sunderland and Stoke have been our bogey teams in recent years. We've had two good performances with two clean sheets against them. That wouldnt have happened last year. We'd probably have lost at least one of them.

I'd much rather our position than Liverpool's.

We beat Sunderland home and away last season and beat Stoke once and drew once. The rest of the top 4 v Sunderland was 3 wins, 2 draws and one Sunderland win and v Stoke were all draws at Stoke and wins at home.

As for dominating the ball against Stoke, 59% possession v 57% in the same fixture last season. We had one less shot and four less on target than last year, they had one less shot and the same on target. As for Sunderland we beat them in the corresponding fixture last season.

Not happy with that all. Rarely threatened and never really looked like scoring. We have no RVP to get the scores for us now so we need an out and out scorer.
    180 mins and no goals.
Comparing it to things this time last season is stupid too. Goals win games and we have scored none.

We didn't have 3 new players in key positions who hardly trained with each other before these last 2-3 weeks, you're ignoring that fact though eh? because it's all about the wins?
