There reason there all going on about a marquee signing I cause wenger said he would spend up to 20m on the right special player
That fella who is always right on twitter said wenger is after someone who before thought he had no chance with but he does now

I couldn't care weather we sign a marquee signing or a dodgy 17yr old as long a the signing works out and makes the squad better. Very few players out there will make the team better but we need a few to bolster the squad

the papers are going with tiote & some are even mentioning cabaye

tiote makes more sense & would be a v.good signing - no waiting to see if he can adapt to PL football etc.

also stoke fans are planning the worlds largest 'do the wenger' or something like that its called

Is tiote that much of an improvement on song I'm not sure

Really don't think he is and think he could be a liability in big games the amount he gets booked
I could be very wrong though

I agree I don't think Tiote has done enough to suggest he is better than Song, he's a more experienced Frimpong

Tiote is a good player but with the money Newcastle would be looking for him it wouldnt be worth it. He wouldnt be an improvement on Song and would prob realistically cost more then what we sold song for.

We have only two options really if we are buying a player. One is spend a lot of money and buy someone at the top of their game(will never happen) or we will go for a young and full of potential player which I think we already have in Coquelin. Thats why I reckon we wont get any one in. Well a midfield player any ways. I do reckon we will get a defender tho

A more experienced Frimpong what does that mean? Tiote was exceptional for Newcastle last season and was one of the main reasons they pushed for fourth. I'm a Song fan but tiote I wouldn't be suprised could do a better job for us if given the chance.

If you were to believe the papers Cabaye and Tiote were nailed on signings for United, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal this summer. Yet Newcastle hasn't received any interest in either player.

    Tiote is absolute mustard IMO.

Would love him to sign for us.

Seriously, would love him to sign for us more than anyone else we could realistically get.

Some sense. He's the one player I definitely do not want to leave Newcastle at any price. He would be an immense singing for Arsenal.

    Ok Newcastle fan.

It wasn't a criticism, as an Arsenal fan I think Frimpong will be quality once he gains experience my point being Tiote is already there

tiote is better defensively than song & more defensively minded too, exactly what's needed someone to break up play & do the dirty work, so to speak

I see similar qualities in both huge engine, passion, whole hearted, breaks up play etc, Frimpong needs work and experience, for the record I'd love Tiote and is the type of DM we'd need the money however Newcastle would want means this won't happen

Only popped in here to see what Arsenal fans made of this and I just found that an extremely odd way of describing how good a player is.

It's like me saying I like Cisse but he's just a more experienced Sammy Ameobi.

Anyway, I don't get it, but I'm not going to draw your thread off topic.

We'll leave it at that. Looking forward to next Friday that's all I can say!

It was hardly any serious effort at describing him fully as a player it was simply a reference to one of our youth players.

As I said personally I'd love to sign him the type of player we need but couldn't see us spending the money it wud take to get him

yeah i know they've being linked a lot & the cabaye story is just that i think a story

but the tiote one makes sense, arsenal are looking to sign a player in the position if ones good enough as said by wenger on friday, tiote's good enough, the monies there, if ashley wouldn't want a ridiculous amount say <18mil i think it could happen. even if tiote said he was happy there

and it's a long time until 11pm next friday :pac:

Spot on. That's why I'm actually worried about him leaving for the first time this summer, because it makes sense. I'd be absolutely shocked if Yohan left though, don't think there's any chance of that!

Tiote is on a long contract at Newcastle though, he signed a 5 year deal not too long ago, so it would certainly take 15 - 20 million to take him out of there and that's why I think it won't happen (despite Arsenal having that money).

This is why I've never considered it. Not that Arsenal wouldn't pay but that newcastle wouldn't sell.

Only for Mannone I'd be loving this, just hope he can produce one of those inspired games
