Giggs, Kagawa, Welbeck even Brady would surely be ample cover wide left?

If any of them at this moment (bar Kagawa) were anywhere near the level of Nani maybe. Young is great quality for cover but an inferior player to Nani.

If Nani is sold after all he's done for the club the last few seasons I'll be very annoyed. It would be a huge mistake from Fergie, selling one of the league's best players would move United further back in both the first team and squad stakes against City.

I'd want to hear the full story myself before siding with a player over Fergie tbh. He's donea thing or two for the club himself over the years yanno.

I didn't see the game, how did Rooney do when he came on?

Also, given the complaints many have about your midfield, while you have an abundance in attack, how would you feel about Nani being sold to fund the signing of a CM?

Seeing Rooneys injury again, I think it was reckless from Rooney in first place to jump up like he did with all studs showing.

You have one you need to sell?

I thought this at the time myself.

    We need a CM.If Nani goes,we need a CM and a winger.

Unless Buttner was brought in with that in mind.

Have my eyes deceived me or did I see Valencia cross with his left foot today?

Unordered list of thoughts from today.

Dembele bossed our midfield too easily. Cleverly really struggled with his physicality.

Our final ball was woeful. Got in to decent crossing positions on many occasions and invariably the cross was poor quality.

We focused a lot of energy down the right wing. Very predictable at times. Far more productive through the middle (Kagawa)

Ashley Young is such an ordinary player. Shimmey down the left cut back on his right, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat.

De Gea and Vida need to sort that sh*t out.

Whats our defender situation like next week?!

Evans was on the bench today so presumably will be good to go next week, although he hasn't had a pre-season so he may not start.

Preferably he'll get 60 minutes or so, hopefully we'll have the game wrapped up by then.

dont forget that vidic and de gea have played together very rarely. vidic was in and out of the team before doing his knee before christmas so de gea will take a while to build up a relationship with Vidic like he has with Rio and Evans. One mistake by De Gea shouldnt take away from some superb stops in the first 2 games.

Agreed. De Gea did make some good stops and his opening performances have been largely positive.

Just watched the game there. What a terrible decision to bring on Giggs and then to bring on both Welbeck and Rooney was equally stupid.

That is horrendous use of the bench.

Guys, Vidic for equally, if not more, at fault for that goal.

Xmas arrived anyway, Kagawa and RVP lived up to my hopes from last night.

That was a freak injury Rooney picked up.

good thing the two lads were signed to do Rooney's job.

agreed, wrong side of his defender, pushed into the player and the 2 of them into de Gea,not many keepers would have got a clean punch on it.

once fulham sat back we played some lovely ball but when pressurised we lost control of the game,we cant play cleverley ando and kag as midfield 3(kag at top of the diamond like) or we will be totally over run in the middle,we really need a box to box strong player in the middle regardless if carrick plays or not.

we got away with that today really De Gea made some important saves.

De Gea needs to be ploughing through the attacker there to get a fist to the ball. Not trying edge around him. Far too weak on that occasion.

    That goal was hilarious.

By the way, I hate Man Utd more than anything else in the world, but I always check their results and fixtures first for some reason. I would also like to become a key contributor to the superthread of my most hated team.

    Thank you

Vidic was just as weak. He was knocked over far too easily.
