On another note, given the fact that we had to start our season with 2 midfielders in defence, its a surprise that the club hasnt tried to at least give our current squad the best opportunity possible to remain fit/comfortable while at the club. .

Say what you want about City, they seem to be doing some things the right way . .

Thanks for linking that. I assumed all clubs had stat heads, but they only say 4. Interesting to hear of the structures in place, i'd like to think United led the way in this type of thing, but there's no info on it.

Maybe you should just relax a little and realise that most words have meanings besides their most literal dictionary definition. I could say despise or "dislike heartily" but I prefer to say hate. Doesn't mean my family has been killed by Scousers or anything like that.

I doubt you make such a song and dance everytime someone declares their love for a particular team.

Taking that general stance as well as the words used is rather funny. You have to admit that much.
If someone declared their love for a particular team, I would'nt mind it as much.
Love is a far better feeling that hate.
But love is a rather strong word.

Wembley in 2011 hurt me more than the final day of last season.

I went into the CL final full of hope, only to see the team that I love humiliated.

I went into the Sunderland vs United / City vs QPR games not feeling full of hope at all, so the end result didn't hurt me as much.

Even though we were seconds from pulling off the unlikely? Was your hopes not brought up then? I know the CL defeats to Barcelona were hard to watch but when your outclassed your outclassed I find it much harder to lose in such closer margins.

Goal difference in stoppage time hurts alot more than a better team convincingly beating you on the day.

This thread can be incredible alright - Someone can be accused of trolling because the loss to Barca affected them more.

I was already resigned to City winning the League. Yes the "AGUEROOOO!" stuff was and is painful but I was already prepared for them to win the title. Plus, for me, their league win is contaminated by Sheikh Mansour's nonsensical "investment". Plus, despite all their investment, we're still better in my view and ultimately f..ked it away ourselves.

But the Barca thing...to have that much hope and then to see United humilated (in the flesh). I was gutted after Wembley in 2011, and if people have an issue with that...well to be honest, I couldn't give a f..k

That's fine that's your opinion I wasn't accusing you of trolling either just comparing my view to yours that's all.

I can fully understand your pain of the Barcelona defeat particularly as you were there. I just find that Auguero moment the most painful of my 20 years supporting United.

Out of them three Liverpool were probably the team that least deserved to win a champions league. At least Chelsea and Porto have won their domestic league recently.

I would definitely take a Champions League win over a Premier League this season if we finished a close second in the league. We have already proven ourselves in the league under Ferguson. Another couple of Champions League wins and he will go down as the greatest manager of all time (It will also mean we will also have the blue badge on the sleeves)

Winning the league gets a bit boring after a while. The fact that you could get knocked out if your not on form makes the Champions league more exciting in my opinion.

Chirst I have read some strange stuff in this thread over the years but this tops it. How the hell can winning the league be "boring". Maybe we should give up on the league this season and focus on the CL and FA cup, havent won them in awhile, break up the boredom!

I think winning the Champions league on top of the league means way more than just winning the Champs league on its own. If it was an either/or situation, I'd choose the league every time.

    Re: The Aguero moment.

It doesn't bother me that much tbh. I expected City to win that day so I never let myself think United would win the league.

Also it was inevitable that City would win the league in the next 3 years the way they were spending money. If United had won the league would we have bought Kagawa and RVP? Would we have been after Moura? I'm not sure. I think this transfer window has been a direct response to City's league win. The goal difference makes Fergies blood boil i bet.

For the champions league to really feel umportant you have to win the league with it.
    Its more important moneywise though.
Id prefer to win the carling cup . Itd send out a message to the rest of the world that our fringe players are the best in the land. Striking fear into the likes of bayarn and barca.

It's the league every time for me!!

Sure even chelsea this year had "next stop premier league" on their bus during the celebration with the CL - already wanting to win that trophy kind of puts more of a shine on it wouldn't you say?

Okay maybe boring was the wrong word to use but when you see your team win the league over and over again the joy derived from winning it drops off and I would like to see them improve in Europe and add more titles there.

I do think the CL is special in the way it's more seldom won.

The league is obviously a far better gauge of a team's level than the CL, however, I'd rate the CL as a better and overall more exciting competition than the PL so would probably prefer it if push came to shove. I would say that a team shouldn't be able to call themselves champions of Europe without winning their own league.

I haven't logged on since this morning and there's 15 pages to possibly read through. Now is there anything of note other the Welbecks contract or is it mostly bitching like it has been lately?

What's more important EPL OR CL

    Why do you hate Liverpool

    About 3 posts about Welbeck

A couple of very entertaining meltdowns will make the effort worth it.

    Summary;

The over reacting from Mondays result has dwindled a bit.

A few pages of declaring hatred towards Liverpool.

A debate on what's more important Premier League or Champions League.

But yes Danny Welbecks contract extension was squeezed in a post or two.

Delighted that we have penned Welbeck down. I think he's going to be awesome and the comment the other day about him having a dodgy touch was lol. Great to see local lads in the side too.

    Now for Nani

I had more hope of City losing the league than us beating Barca in 2011. Barca are the best club team i have ever seen and it was obvious they were going to tear our midfield to shreds. While i was more optimistic of City struggling to get their first Premier League win. Maybe you had hope but i ha little hope of us beating Barca.

We are rumoured to be interested. Havent seen him play just heard he is a tough tackler. Maybe a bit like De Jong who would add bite to the midfield. Would be interested to hear from anybody who saw him play. He is only 22 and for that price he is worth a punt.

Can you give it a rest with that? Literally nobody said anything even remotely close to that.
