    http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2012/aug/21/tony-scott-suicide-footage

someone recorded footage of Tony Scott jumping off the bridge and now they're trying to flog it to de'media

I don't know if I would, like I might... I dunno, it's like when you drive by a bad accident, you shouldn't look but you usually end up having a peek.
It's like that film/doc from a few years ago about the suicides off the Golden Gate bridge, I think I watched about 2 minutes of it before I'd had enough, it was just too sad.

Mods, can you add a question mark to the title? Opps

If it was part of a sensitive documentary on suicide maybe, but if it was some shock porn on some entertainment programme no. The fact these ghouls are trying to sell to the highest bidder just makes it very very shabby.

After all the horrifying gore the internet has exposed me to over the years I would consider myself desensitized enough to masturbate to it.
This is not a proud boast [unzips].

I tried to watch the bridge before. Had to stop after about 10/15 minutes mainly because I felt incredibly uneasy about how they were speaking of people close to them who jumped, more so then the clips of people jumping.

I'd never want to see anything showing someone dying regardless of the circumstances since though. The very thought of such a clip being sold off is rather heartless, IMO. Particularly to mass media who can end up playing it through a few times. It's not needed at all.

Whats the rating on it? Is it better than Top Gun as I was goinf to watch that.

It was only a matter of time before a famous person was caught on camera killing themselves. What sort of person tries to sell this stuff to the news. Bloody Americans money mad no respect all them videos should be deleted and never seen by anyone outside of the family or investigators

    No, no I wouldn't.

A clearly distressed and disturbed man tumbling to his death wouldn't appeal to me tbh.
    Maybe I'm just weird though.

    Great documentary

Neither would I. The voyeuristic nature of some people today has gone a step too far imo.

After watching '3guys, 1 hammer' (if you haven't seen it, DON'T!) i reckon that a bridge jump would be easy watching. The internet is a dark place!

I've watched some suicide vids out of morbid curiousity. It's very very sad to see normal looking people just jump over the side of a bridge.

It's happened before and more graphically. Back in the 70's a US politician shot himself in the head at a press conference. Fcuking awful.

What's more sad is not footage of Scott jumping to his death but of the person flogging this footage off and looking to make a profit.

Nah, it just doesn't feel right, watching a person in terrible mental anguish, ending their life in such a tragic way.

I read an article once about people who had jumped from some bridge (i think it was the golden gate, but it was a good while back so i'm not sure) and survived - every one of them changed their mind the very second they jumped. I think very few people actually want to die when it comes right down to the nitty gritty. It's very sad.

I don't know about that - is this not basically what sky news or cnn and their ilk does? News is big business.

They do, and it doesn't make them any better for fighting against each other to be the one who secures the footage first.

Regardless what happens, this footage will likely wind up on the web anyways.

Someone showed me this once. It's not pleasant, I was quite disturbed after watching it.

IT's a video of 2 guys from the Ukraine (i think) who kill a guy in the woods with a hammer. They then take a screwdriver to his eyes and abdomen.
I can skin and gut a rabbit without blinking an eye, but watching that video was horribly disturbing.

As far as I know, it's on youtube, which I was kinda surprised by.

It's a video of three guys murdering another one with a hammer. I had to turn it off, it's up there with those videos of people being beheaded by terrorists. Definitely not recommended.

Yeah it's on youtube. Didn't think they allowed that kinda stuff.

What would you have to gain from watching something like that though seriously. Anyone who would watch it has issues imo. It must be awful for his family knowing that his last moments come at a price. If the person who took the footage has any morals he'd delete it but since he taped it to start with he's shown no care for the family left behind mourning the loss of a loved one.

For anyone considering watching that 3 guys 1 hammer video, do yourself a favour and dont, youll regret it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,690 ✭✭✭The Davestator

If you think about this a little differently - what if the guy selling the video is facing serious financial problems and thinking of suicide himself.

This video will ease his problems and could save his life.

(he's probably just an asshole though)
