Mr Kennedy was a blonde too and he lost his brief case to a Canadian.

But that canadian wasn't a middle aged musician who has left 2/3 times already.
Aaaand now he's fired....remember the days when fans used to care about these stips, well now they don't.

I thought that was an excellent ending to Raw. Got me very interested in Night of Champions.

Anyone else giggle when the Rock vs Cena ad popped up there. Best in the World indeed.

There has to be some awesome really gratingly corporate/flat out wrong things Jerry has said even this year, but he won't put over the WWE Champion. That's wonderful! :pac:

Even though John was doing his pandering/Christian Rock motivational speech, serious Cena is so much better than comedy Cena.

Punk's reasoning for turning heel does feel like somewhat like Bret's frustrations with America in 97. Of course it's not anywhere near that, but he's going towards the fans have changed/turning on him, he's not getting his dues/respect despite everything he's done, which is the core of Bret's heel turn.

They screwed up with Jericho and Ziggler. That stipulation (MITB contract Vs Jericho's contract) should have been the Summerslam match, and it should have been something Ziggler suggested (eg Jericho challenges Ziggler for the briefcase, Ziggler agrees on condition that Jericho leaves WWE if he loses)

Would have made Ziggler look stronger and more heelish.

Why do they keep doing things like this?

    There I said it!!

I couldnt stand the thaught of staying up to watch it and i fastforwarded most of it :(

the lesnar intro was good but should of hinted at some sort of future fued,

HBKs video did nothing but make it look like HHH has actually retired which we all know isnt the case HOPEFULLY.. this is setting up HHH v HBK...

I dont mind Punk v Cena aslong as the stipulation is added that if Punk beats Cena at NoC Cena cant challenge for the title again aslong as Punk is champion and we get the new belt :D

    Decent Raw,was AJ overkill though.

    Kane burying Ryder was hilarious.

If they put the same amount of effort into a 2hr show again it would probably be pretty good because I dont think it was a bad show overall but with 3 hours every Raw I think people are generally happy for it to be over when it ends cos they have had enough.

I'm sure they would have still crammed the two hours as full of filler and left out some of the good stuff but id still wager a 2hr Raw including Lesnar/Heyman's opening, Jericho/Ziggler contract vs contract & The CM Punk/Cena segment plus Danielson in the ring and HBK the mic as some point would have gotten very good reviews.

Listening to Review-a-wai, they say Kelly Kelly had a prominent position in the graphic for "Diva's Battle Royal up next!" and then wasn't actually in the match :S

Yeah she was pretty much front and centre afair.

Kelly was front and center, Beth just behind her. When that graphic came up I counted out of curiosity and there were nine divas. Came back with seven in the ring so I assumed the last two would get actual entrances. Nope. Kelly and Beth didnt bother showing up :pac:

Really shows how bad the Diva's division has gotten in recent years. Probably less than two years ago you'd have at least four or five people who could put on a good match. Last night there was only Natalya. The booking was still crap but we had the potential of a decent match then.

Is Big Show babyface again? Having him squash obvious heel Otunga was a bit pointless if he isnt. Its no wonder he doesnt have any momentum, he keeps fcuking turning one way or the other! Make up your minds!

In a similar tone, they have made a complete and utter bollocks of the Del Rio and Sheamus feud. The babyface is playing the heel role while the heel is now playing the sympathetic babyface who keeps getting screwed over. Makes no sense.

The Lesnar and Hayman opening was good but I dont get why Brock didnt announce he was leaving there and then. He doesnt seem like the kind of guy who uses Tout.

All I can say is thank fcuk for YouTube. It would be painfully having to sit through shows like that live.

I thought it was a good show. If a little long. Opened and closed well. Got another Ziggler v Jericho match and I agree that the match stips should have been for the summerslam match.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,970 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

    Oh yeah...

"Hey Otunga! Thanks for actually getting some mainstream press of the right kind, and getting yourself in a bigger movie than our typical star. Now go lose to Show in 10 seconds!"

That'll teach him for trying to get mainstream exposure....

I thought about that but I guess it would have been too obvious that Ziggler would have won. Ok, it was obvious tonight, but tonight it was just another match on RAW. Yesterday was one of the biggest matches on a top 4 PPV.

The first half of the show really around A.J. It's nice to have longer matches but some of the promos really dragged on - especially HBK's and Cena's. Get to the point ffs.

I loved the banter between Sheamus and Cole. It's that kind of banter that could make Sheamus a popular character.

Nice buildup to Night of Champions main event. This really feels like THE Cena-Punk showdown!

Watched the opening and noticed some entrances are so different without the pyro. Like when Lesnar comes out then does that whole thing where he just brings his arms down in front of him, you expect a pyro.

For the Divas batle royale, I noticed the lack of Beth. And it looked like they were told "Right wrap this up and get out of the ring" because it went from no one getting eliminated to everyone going out quickly. So will Layla or Kaitlyn be the hell in this match? Looked like Layla had the heelish "Aw crap" look instead of the usual face look.

Three things I thought watching Otunga's bit with AJ:
    1. He looks whiter
    2. Halle Berry's hit hard times if she's in a WWE movie. Was before I found out the movie wasn't a WWE movie.
    3. That coffee cup makes me think of the "coffee" cup in Cabin in the Woods

So is Ryder getting an IC title shot, since isn't that how these tag matches usually work? People who are feuding teaming with others who are feuding.

Doubt it. The idea was Kane and Bryan teaming with people they've had issues with. Miz was obvious but I wouldnt have thought Ryder was quite so obvious. However, when you seen how the match played out it became obvious why he was in there. I'll be very surprised if he gets anything out of it.

He was in there because of Kane throwing him off of the stage back in February when he was trying to make John Cena "embrace the hate." They had a feud for months, that was just brought up occasionally, like when Randy Orton got an assist from him at Extreme Rules.

I'd argue it was to give Jericho a PPV win before he left again. I don't think he won once on PPV since he returned (at least not that I remember).
