So presumably that means we'll be finding out who's next for Lesnar? I actually think they should give someone like Ziggler a rub and involve him but I can't see that happening :/

Maybe Lesnar will 'break' Jericho's arm next

Lesnar Vs Ziggler? Ziggler would sell that match so hard they'd have a funeral for him on the show the following week.

I'd like to see Lesnar V Barrett.

Only 20 minutes? He's got an extra hour to fill these days.

    Notes from PWInsider

Damien Sandow and Brodus Clay were scheduled for the PPV but pulled for timing reasons.

Hunter's walk to the back was meant to mimic Shawn Michael's retirement walk to the back. WWE are planning a Brock/HHH rematch around Survivor Series.

Heyman has signed a contact extension. His deal supposedly ran out last night.

Orton wasn't on the show as they didn't want to reward him after just coming off suspend and is leaving to film 12 Rounds in a few weeks.

HHH vs Lesnar again? last nites match had me thinking thank god thats over rather than wanting a rematch.

I know they usually do the twitter ****e every PPV but they did a hell of a lot of it last night. Cut down on that and they could have easily gotten another match in. Cut out the music performance and they could have gotten a fairly long match or even a second extra match in. Raw is mostly filler these days, now they are doing it on PPV's too? :(

Brock won't have another match until 'Mania, in my opinion. When the WWE signed him, it was a one year deal, with a specific amount of appearances. This means he can only appear a certain number of times in the year. That is also why he was taken off television between Extreme Rules and the build-up to Summerslam, so they could save his appearances for the build-up to his match at Wrestlemania next year, presumably against the Undertaker. As much as I'd like to see Lesnar vs. Ziggler or Barrett, I don't think it will happen under his current contract. :(

The lowest number rumoured means he should still have about 10 more appearances. If he gets a rematch with Triple H like has been suggested, he'll only need two or three appearances leaving about seven for Wrestlemania. A new feud would only need one or two from Lesnar (minus the actual match) with Heyman doing the rest. Easily doable provided they know what they want for Wrestlemania.

Yeah, that sounds about right actually. The first I heard of the deal stated 24 live appearances but they only used about 8-12 est. so far, so either those details were false OR they want to book him for Survivor Series and Royal Rumble, but I hope they don't waste him on Cena again or even Orton, they should push Ziggler or even have him run over Bryan

Heyman could do the lion's share of the angles on Television.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

If WWE were smart they could film backstage vignettes/angles when brock is at the arena. That way they could have him on TV every week and not half of the time.

That said the sentence "if WWE were smart" could end in a lot of different ways ;)

I can't forsee a Lesnar/Trips re-match myself, nor can I see him against Shawn Michaels. He's got enough dates left for 2 or 3 feuds so hopefully Rock and Undertaker are part of his planned future.

Would WWE have to pay Lesnar though for each "appearance" on Raw? This always interests me in TV shows; does an appearance count as "Actually was in the arena at time of filming" or "Was shown in new footage on the show".

appearances and matches are different though, a number of people including meltzer were reporting that lesnar had only signed on for 3-4 matches total, obviously lesnar isn't working a match at the rumble because both him and rock on the card dilutes the value of both of them working mania

i don't see the value of a hhh/lesnar rematch unless last night did a monster number

One thing ive heard suggested is maybe having Undertaker v Lesnar at SS having Lesnar destroy taker and then a rematch at Wrestlemania which would really make people fear for the streak..

    OR..

HBK v Lesnar at SS which would build up to having HBK v HHH at Wrestlemania as HHH will be annoyed by the constant reminders that HBK is the better man...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭A Primal Nut

Even as someone who enjoyed the rivalry between HHH and Lesnar; I can't see a rematch happening. He has a limited number of dates so they should be used against different opponents. No reason to have a rematch at all and I suspect low Summerslam buys might validate that.

There are so many ways WWE could go with virtually every top superstar over the next few months and up to WrestleMania; and I wouldn't trust anything PWinsider say; they aren't right that often!

i always think they should do this, have someone easily beat taker a couple of months before then when he makes his pre-mania comeback have the person come out. I thought Orton could have done this last year, coming out on raw with an arrogant smirk on takers return to challenge, an "old yeller" storyline if you will.

I also literally have no desire to see more of Brock Lesnar in WWE. what a poor match, i also think it cheapens the hhh/taker II match having hunter give so easily

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 348 ✭✭mikey13

I think Randy will be lucky to be at Mania the way hes going lol I wouldnt mind seing Punk against taker.. people were saying bout Jericho last year fighting taker to prove hes the best in the world why not do same for Punk?

Lots of questions need answering tonight.

1st - I would be seriously annoyed to see Brock v Rock considering neither of them are really on the roster. WWE doesn't need what would be one of the biggest matches of the past 10 years not featuring a properly rostered wrestler.

2nd - Seamus vs Alberto needs to end, now. ADR can bring back a bit of prestige to a mid-card title and Seamus needs to be slightly altered. It was cool when he was the rogue that wasn't scared of a fight, now he is John Cena. Would like to see Bryan and Orton involved in a feud for it perhaps.

3rd - Jericho. Wonder how they'll write him off, maybe a Brock ambush for some reason? Or a Case vs Career match?

4th - Not into Punk and Cena again unless Heyman gets in with Punk like he is rumored to

A feud between Bryan and Rey please!!

Sheamus needs to develop some sort of character depth pretty sharpish too, also needs to make his promos a bit more understandable and more free flowing. He hasn't really improved much on that front since he's been in WWE.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

What you're describing is a mid-carder! Someone with potential but needs seasoning to find and grow into his character. That shouldn't describe a 3-time world champion but sadly it does.

Could describe 95% of the roster too. Sheamus has had good matches as champion but his storylines have just sucked its like wwe put the tea boy writing them.

Yeah, didn't really go anywhere but I still enjoyed that. Good to see Lesnar being made out to be a proper beast off the back of an actual win.

Needed someone to come out and do a back and forth there, Heyman is gold on the mic but he is better with banter.

If it ends with Lesnar impaling Lawler on a pole it'd justify it.

My theory is that hbk will waffle on about how lesnar is bad for wwe and only one man that can stop him is the undertaker
