Never said Savic was on par with Agger, and I said there was not alot seperating Lescott or Agger but I would choose Lescott over him for his versatility. ;)

He can play left centre half and right centre half?

You admit you would chose Lescott over Agger and you actually put Agger as a third or fourth choice centre back at City alongside Savic.
    That's just bollocks talk

3rd choice. Mancini said the same. 'That's just bollocks talk... in your opinion'. But what would Mancini know

Where is this quote where Mancini says Agger would be third choice?

Unless Jose blocks the move I think he'll end up at Arsenal now.
Champions League is a big draw now and exposure in the Champions league for the player.

Will put up the exact quote when I get it, but he said it in the interview where he touted Utd as favourites.

In the meantime this link will have to do cover for Komapny and Lescott

Cover behind 2 players would imply 3rd choice :D

So says a local newspaper journo.

I am looking for the quote where Mancini says if he signs Agger he will be third choice as you stated.

You may calm down with your snide responses, there is no need for it.

As I said, I will post the actual quote when I come across it. Until then I'll leave you rebute 'local newspaper journos'.

I'd say on last season's form, he's right.

Agger was imperious as ever last season.

Lescott is better than he gets credit for, but Agger is on a different level altogether.

Agger was excellent last season in a poor performing team. Lescott played an excellent support to a monster season for Kompany so is often overlooked and carrying criticism for his first season at City where so much was expected of him.

Problem is Lescott is 30 this year, and Savic is too far off stepping up, he needs to be eased into the team. Therefore we have a big gap occuring at the back. Since we weren't succesful in securing Thiago Silva, and no other top centre half available, Agger was targeted as ideal cover for the pairing of Lescott and Kompany. Who else is near good enough that's available? Hangeland maybe? Agger is better.

I want to see a real world class defender, who can compliment Kompany to join. I just don't think Agger offers that replacement.

I think a better target for City would be Dede, I'd say he'd be a great partner for Kompany in a few seasons and would be a fantastic backup while he develops.

Don't know anything about the lad as I've not seen him. There were alot of rumours about a bid for Hummels pre the Euros but I don't think anything came of it.

Speaking of the Germans, still ragin we let go of Boateng. He would be ideal for us.

Dede is probably the best defender in south america, only just turned 24, pretty quick, good footballer, kinda reminds me of Thiago Silva, Milan were linked to him, but the way this summer is going, I don't see it happening.

Perfect partner for Kompany in that he's a sweeper/covering type CB.

    City's Ferdinand to Vompany (Vidic)

Never really watch the South American leagues so always stumped when a bunch of talent is recruited in Europe.

How much are City willing to pay for Agger?

Think they up to about £17m, but Liverpool have valued him at £27. Marwood however is reluctant to allow big money transfers unless absolutely necessary so I don't think City will go any higher. Was surprised they santioned the Rodwell move tbh.
