A very quick question. Im going to renew my learners permit. it will be my 2nd lp.

    I need:

2 passport photos signed on the back of each
    My current learners permit
    The fee
    the learners permit form.

    Is there anything else?

Not sure if you know of this forum and apologies if you already are but it is quite helpful.

It is the Learning to Drive forum which deals specifically with people learning to drive. :)

Thats for 3rd LP and so on. Not 2nd renewal.

Cool. I never needed to renew. :pac:

In fact I was lucky in that I only had my Provisional license from a May to September, no 6 month rule back then thankfully!

It's a signed copy of Engel's new album Blood of Saints.

To keep it motors related, I have this in the CD changer in the car :D

Waiting for packages in the post drives me nuts!
I ordered my GF's birthday present online and it has to come from Santa Fe, such a long wait!

    I wish I could drive
    ing related
there and pick it up myself.
She did ask why I didn't just take her on holidays there instead... Good luck! :p

Your Punto is not a HGV.

    Correct.

Are you sure the Punto isn't a Heavy Goods Vehicle there Antares? :D

@Bubble Wrap- bit of light humour never killed anyone, but still Matt Simis is dead right...:P

    Variant on it's occupier perhaps.

I've seen quite a few of them transformed to HGV's by certain larger people. The general dimensions of them remain the same though so I think Bubble Wrap may well be safe. ;)

Should you ever give a car disposal crowd the VLC before they send you a EOL cert?

Come home today for lunch only to find a blue 98/99 caddy parked at the front of my house. It then sped off very fast. Clearly were watching out before, they recognised my car. This is one of the rare times there are no cars in the driveway to the garage, easier access to the stuff at the back. To all around Navan, beware, don't let your guard down. Don't end up making a similar post to this...

I never carried any fat birds in that car, it ain't a HGV :pac:

It might be a good time to get some dags in your yard DGT.

Funniest thing happened today, I was out changing some bulbs in my gf's car and two lads (complete scumbags btw) were tore out of a Passat by a load of Garda, windows and everything were put in! I LOL'ed and continued changing the bulbs. :P

what i'd do is get an electric window switch, a central locking fob, an air con pump, an alloy wheel and a colour coded bump strip, any other extras you can find.

the theives were driving a caddy and VW drivers dont like spec so leaving a few of those items around the perimiter of your grounds would be like using garlic to deter a vampire etc.

Can't see them taking the car off you unless you give them the VLC.

Would a beware of dog sign on the gates do anything?

I generally find that signs saying

"beware of your ma" with a picture of a dog

    work better. :D

The neighbours dogs that bark at everything that moves.... Didn't bark atall

Last dog we had got poisoned, how low does someone have to be to do that

No gates either, as the yard is usually jammed with cars. That's going to change though

Can someone just stroll right into your yard?

Well if he is a thief and intends on stealing from you I'd imagine a dead dog is the least of their worries.

Pretty much. Up until recently there was always someone around the house, no matter what time. And we have caught people having a stroll into the yard when we were here. Now that I'm in full time employment for the next 6 months (down to 4 and a half) there are more occasions where there is no one at the house. The absence of the Merc or any shredding car in the yard gave the signal away that no ones here. Were anticipating it will lead to more opportunists trying to steal our stuff

I'd definitely get a set of gates. It'll be money well spent if it means your keeping out nasty robbers/scumbags

What's a shredding car? Those bastads will be back no doubt, the likes of them are worse than junkies in cities.

That's what were getting as soon as we get the chance. Needs must

Get some CCTV Camera shells as well don't do anything but are a good deterrent. They're usually cheap enough. Put them in obvious spots too.

We have cctv here, linked to a VCR that doesn't work

I really need to invest in some modern monitoring equipment...

I spied some cheap CCTV equipment in Maplin Dundalk yesterday. Was thinking of covering my driveway should somebody with no taste attempt anything on my Avensis. :)

Car for stripping. Parked nearest the garage for quick access to the tools/ cutting equipment etc.

It can be quiet out here at times
