    I agree with Corry there in relation to Ireland's medal count at the Olympics.

    For a country obsessed with sport, our return is quite paltry.

    Especially in the Show Jumping. We are famed for our horses and horsemanship but we are not up to it when it matters.

    Ireland thinks going to the Olympics is an achievement, the London Games sounded like a holiday for many that wanted to go on the B standards. I posted the below earlier in another forum, the 3 medals we won so far will make it look better but yes we badly underachieve at the Olympics.
    • Ireland 23 medals in 24 Games
    • Croatia 27 medals in 11 Games.
    • Latvia 20 medals in 18 Games.
    • Lithuania 16 medals in 14 Games.
    • Portugal 22 medals in 28 Games.
    • Slovenia 22 medals in 12 Games.
