Well if Rodgers is picked 1 and Foster 2, 3 is my dream slot because of Ray Rice. I reckon Foster may slow down with the loss of Brisiel and Winston.

What do you think? My first mock this year, picking 3 overall:
    Round 1: Ray Rice
    Round 2: Brandon Marshall
    Round 3: Frank Gore
    Round 4: Antonio Gates
    Round 5: Eli Manning
    Round 6: Greg Little
    Round 7: Nate Washington
    Round 8: Doug Baldwin
    Round 9: Mike Williams
    Round 10: Kendall Hunter
    Round 11: Bernard Pierce
    Round 12: Christian Ponder
    Round 13: Chiefs defense
    Round 14: Lance Kendricks
    Round 15: Ryan Succop

This is my team from tonight, not overly happy.

Picked from 10th I think and this is the order they were picked in, didn't bother with a kicker.

    Matthew Stafford
    Julio Jones
    Ahmad Bradshaw
    Stevan Ridley
    Reggie Wayne
    Donald Brown
    Ben Tate
    Santana Moss
    Rueben Randle
    Ryan Williams
    Jermaine Gresham
    Alshon Jeffery
    David Nelson
    Tim Tebow
    Cincinnati Bengals

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭mikemac1

Very similar to last night. I picked 8th

    Jay Cutler 6
    David Garrard 14

    Ryan Matthews 1
    Jamaal Charles 2
    CJ Spiller 7
    Daniel Thomas 10

    Victor Cruz 3
    Torrey Smith 5
    Mario Manningham 8
    Nate Burelson 9
    Danny Amendola 11
    Randall Cobb 13

    Aaron Hernandez 4

    New England D 12

    Ryan Liddell 15

    Like my RB corp
I don't like taking Cruz that high and I don't like Manningham but I took the top rated receiver

Missed out on Ryan Williams Cards RB again, he's rising up the rankings
adrian again snagged him! Why I oughta

Right so heres my team from picking 12th

    QB : Cam Newton (1-12)
    Andrew Luck (7-108)

    RB : Demarco Murray (2-21)
    Beanie Wells (3-44)
    Michael Bush (9-140)
    Delone Carter (13-204)

    WR : Vincent Jackson (4-53)
    Darius Haywerd Bay (6-85)
    Kendall Wright (8-117)
    Brandon Lafell (10-149)
    Mohammed Sanu (12-181)

    TE : Jermichael Finley (6-85)
    Greg Olsen (11-172)

    DEF: Carolina (14-213)

    K : Randy Bullock (15-236)

Happy enough with it. Only picked the panthers d cause their my fave team. I'll be swapping around according to matchups every week :) Actually surprised with the kicker for the Texans who are usually a high scoring team.

Thought it was shocking that guys were selecting defenses in the ninth round !
    Thoughts everyone ?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 16,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭adrian522

Gresham is my only TE so he'll start. Bit of a risk taking stafford first but most of the elite guys had gone by then.

I'd be happy enough with Bradshaw and Ridley as starters.

Matthew, nice team but I'm not sure about gore that early, he'll lose a lot of touches this year and is not being used as much in the passing game.

EDit: Malachy, I like your team too except for Beanie wells who could lose the starting job to williams this year.

Charles is a big reach in the second round if you ask me, he's recovering from a severe injury and the Chiefs are going to be taking their time with his rehab, they signed Peyton Hillis too

Well that would be the only goal. If Allen was the announced backup for week 1 I'd drop Pierce for him, he should be a FA. The Gore pick was because my next pick was 62, and there would be no one good left and I consider him a fairly safe option.

Happy Enough with my draft tonight...
    6rd Big Ben
    9rd Andy Dalton

    3rd Michael Turner
    4rd Shaun Greene
    8rd Pierre Thomas
    10rd LaG Blount

    1rd Andre Johnson
    2rd Greg Jennings
    7rd Sidney Rice
    12rd Brian Quick
    14rd Dexter McCluster

    5rd Vernon Davis
    11rd Tony Moeaki

    13rd Nate Kating

    15rd Washington Def

Not entirely happy with the depth at WR & RB...maybe should have drafted a RB or WR instead of Big Ben in round 6

Good info, I'll know for next time

By any reports I've seen with a good pre-season or within first few weeks of the regular season Ryan Williams will be starter.
Cards are not happy with Wells

I would have faith in Charles, he didn't get too many touches when he had his great 2010 year.

A few risky picks there A_Sober_Paddy?

Blount may lose the starting job, Rice and Johnson are injury risks and I think Turner may struggle this year...

Blount was a panic pick, my board was in tatters. But in saying that I reckon he'll be my 4 choice RB.

With regards injury risks, the closer to season's start hopefully we'll have a better idea of the fitness of those players.

My team in this draft was twice that of any of my FF teams last season

I picked up Finley in rd 5 I think. I could have left it later really. My decision at the time was between him and Fleener and I could have gone either way. Fleener was still around for a good while.

Yeah I took Gates, Eric Weddle thinks he's healthy and even though my memory of him last year was constant injuries he still got nearly 800 yards. Got to have insurance though, and Kendricks could bring that with the return of the Rams offense.

Gonna go Rodgers just cause of Fosters injury last year..

  • Registered Users Posts: 56 ✭✭PacFish

    QBs: RG3 (5-71), Schaub (6-90)
    RBs: Lynch (2-26), Martin (3-39), Hightower (9-135), Hillman (11-167)
WRs: Megatron (1-7), Steve Johnson (4-58), Jon Baldwin (8-122), Randy Moss (10-154), Henderson (13-199)
    TEs: Tamme (7-103), Dickson (12-186)
    K: Scobee (15-231)
    DST: Cardinals (14-218)

Worst team I've drafted in a while. QBs are solid with RG3 a candidate to go crazy.
Megatron and Steve Johnson are both top WRs then I've take gambles on the rest in the hope one pays off.
Tamme should see a decent amount of the ball while Dickson looked good last year.
    My RBs are awful.

TO, was that on auto draft? Wouldn't be mad about Best or Williams to be honest.

I don't think I'll be around tonight so feel free to boot 4thandforever if space is needed.

If not I'll try setting a draft board and see what sort of team I end up with.

What do you think of this team? It wad my first effort with a auction draft. The number indicates the amount spent on each player.
    Total budget was 200

    QB Matthew Stafford 52
    RB Ahmad Bradshaw 18
    RB Isaac Redman 9
    WR A.J. Green 31
    WR Steve Johnson 15
    TE Jimmy Graham 36

    BE Kevin Smith 1
    BE Mario Manningham 1
    BE Jacob Tamme 1
    BE Ryan Williams 1
    BE Kendall Wright 1

Maclin at 15 bucks would be sensational value imo, you did very well on that one. Would be a nice team to enter a league with - but no backup QB?

You spent way too much money and if you get injuries you are fooked. My biggest mistake playing auction leagues for the first time was doing the same thing. Auction leagues are won by guys who are able to dabble on the free agency because they didn't blow their budget in the draft. If we get another NFL season like last season the odds suggest that you will run into roster problems. Food for thought :D

Do you keep unspent money for FA?

This my second attempt, this time determined not to blow the budget too early:

    QB Eli Manning 29
    RB Steven Jackson 21
    RB Ahmad Bradshaw 18
    WR Hakeem Nicks 32
    WR Brandon Lloyd 13
    TE Jermichael Finley 6
    FLEX Roy Helu 14
    D/ST 49ers D/ST 1
    K David Akers 1
    BE BenJarvus Green-Ellis 13
    BE Steve Johnson 15
    BE Doug Martin 6
    BE Michael Bush 8
    BE Aaron Hernandez 4
    BE Doug Baldwin 1
    BE Donald Brown 2
    Total: 184
    Remaining: 16

Brady went for 47, might have been a better option than Manning. I still have no backup QB, tohugh I have to say I enjoy the Auction format, just need to come up with a decent strategy.

Depends on the league but for the most part yup. Some leagues give you an extra 100m but it all depends on the GM who created. Anyone who knows FF will make you spend your left over cash to make it more competitive. It then punishes those idiots who drive up prices in the auction.

    Picking 2nd overall tonight.

    6(95). Jay Cutler

    1(2). LeSean McCoy
    4(63). Stevan Ridley
    7(98). Ben Tate
    11(162). Daniel Thomas

    2(31). Brandon Marshall
    3(34). Jordy Nelson
    5(66). Eric Decker
    8(127). Jon Baldwin
    12(191). Jerome Simpson
    13(194). Randall Cobb

    9(130). Kyle Rudolph
    10(159). Jermaine Gresham

    14(223). Robbie Gould

    15(226). Minnesota Vikings Def/ST

So I completely forgot to draft a backup QB, but anyway. Would be happy with that depth, and while the Vikings Def/ST might look dodgy, I always play that on a week to week basis from waivers, and with Harvin on special teams and the Jaguars in Week 1, I think Vikings are a good pick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Here's my draft for today (picking 11 of course), most don't need explaining except for Mendenhall, who is a depth pick, and I wouldn't be using him before week 10 anyway hopefully. Vincent Brown and Eddie Royal are 2 players, one of whom I fancy to break out because Rivers is throwing to them.

    1. Rob Gronkowski
    2. DeMarco Murray
    3. Fred Jackson
    4. Philip Rivers
    5. Antonio Brown
    6. Darrius Heyward-Bey
    7. Mike Williams
    8. Sebastien Janikowski
    9. Donald Brown
    10. Rashard Mendenhall
    11. Brandon LaFell
    12. Christian Ponder
    13. Panthers defense
    14. Vincent Brown
    15. Eddie Royal

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

I don't understand the point of not drafting a defense and kicker with your two last picks. If you draft all position players then your going to have to drop 2 for the week anyway.

Brady went for 47, might have been a better option than Manning. I still have no backup QB, tohugh I have to say I enjoy the Auction format, just need to come up with a decent strategy.

Getting Lloyd, Finley, Hernandez and Martin for 29 bucks is very good going. How many teams are in these mocks you're doing?

I think they are 12 team leagues but there are always a few on auto pick.

    1. PICK 12 Chris Johnson RB - TEN
I don't think he'll come back but clearly you do.
    2. PICK 21 Trent Richardson RB - CLE
    Nice pick.
    3. PICK 44 Brandon Lloyd WR - NE
    4. PICK 53 Vernon Davis TE - SF
    Ditto.
    5. PICK 76 Kenny Britt WR - TEN
    No need to say anything.
    6. PICK 85 James Starks RB - GB
A starter at RB, good depth at 85.
    8. PICK 117 Andrew Luck QB - IND
I wouldn't want him starting, I don't think Chuck Pagano will give him enough opportunities.
    9. PICK 140 Doug Baldwin WR - SEA
    10.PICK 149 Greg Olsen TE - CAR
    2 great picks.
    11.PICK 172 Alex Smith QB - SF
    12.PICK 181 Steve Breaston WR - KC
    13.PICK 204 Lamar Miller RB - MIA
    14.PICK 213 Josh Scobee K - JAC
    15.PICK 236 Cincinnati Bengals DEF
    Meh.
