I'm going to keep a eye out for Aussie hurdle runner Michelle Jenneke after seeing her warm up routine(well worth a look on youtube) on a MMA site last week, the same site that had a vid of Mario Balotelli saying he'd of been a UFC fighter if he never made it in football.

What did Trevor Nelson say? I was too preoccupied with last years WWE video game to watch. Sure anything he does nowadays will always be a step down from The Lick on MTV!!

Jaysus I can't remember, I think he said "as she looks on proudly":P
Some of it was dull and quite smug and Jude is a song I need not hear ever again but it actually wasn't that bad of a cermony.

Hey Jude by The Beatles you mean? Sure that gets wheeled out at all of these sort of things. That doesn't sound like a major blunder by Trevor, what was he supposed to say sure?

I don't know what's worse. The fact that I have a Cher Lloyd song stuck in my head or the fact that I know the words :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,167 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Well surely you only know the words of it because it's stuck in your head, why were you watching?

I fink boards is going to be making a switch from vBulletin to standing on their own feet, so this could be the first change needed to move towards that.

Will anybody be watching the amateur wrestling in the Olympics? I'm interested to know whether the modern PW fan actually enjoys the sport of wrestling in a pure unadulterated form.

I watched the Judo today, quite enjoyed it but doubt it'd be for everyone. Watched a lot more of the swimming than I thought I would. The female Brazilian volleyball team were on eurosport too, the words shucky ducky quack quack came to mind. Nothing else on today except Liverpool vs Spurs which was terrible. Still All Ireland Hurling Quarters on tomorrow can't wait.

Anyone see the archery and the gold medal match?

Last two Italian chaps needed 18 to beat the Americans. The first chap hit an 8 which meant the last guy needed to hit a 10 to win it. Massive pressure on it and the guy hit the 10. I let out a big cheer. Never thought I'd be gripped by archery. Give them entrance music and they might rival the darts.

I saw that actually, fair play to your man for holding his nerve after the first guy hit 8. I'm always delighted to see the USA beaten in anything. :D

So far I've just been amazed that the Americans have surnames like Dwyer and Donahue ha.

Finally getting to see Batman today. Can't wait to click that batman topic once I get home :P

Amazingly, I've only had one very slight thing spoiled on me, so I'm going in blind as to what happens, its quality, etc.

Where you going to see it? What do you expect? How much do you know of Batmans past (comics, etc)? Will you be getting nachos or popcorn? :D

Balbriggan cinema (avoid the Drogheda ones like the plague since...well, you're likely to catch the plague there).

Honestly, I wasn't as overawed with the last two as most others seemed to be, but I'll wait and discuss that once I see it and can post in the main thread. I'm going in with low expectations as I do with most movies, so as not to be disappointed.

I know enough to classify me as more than a casual but less than a hardcore fan. I have a good few of the essential comics, watched the shows as a kid, but I wouldn't be able to list off all the different Robins, for example.

Popcorn, obviously. :P Bag of cheesy popcorn, some maltesers thrown into the bag and a 500ml bottle of Lucozade. What I have every time I go to the cinema.

I hate people who mix chocolate and popcorn.

And that would only be the start of it!

That's probably a perfect viewer for this whole trilogy. Know enough of the story to be given a different backstory/outcome but not bitch and moan about it like some hardcore fans seem to.

Cold popcorn with choc? Does that not defeat the purpose of putting the chocolate in and letting it melt?

On the topic of chocolate and popcorn, everyone try that new cadburys choco-popcorn! Its amazing.

There should be special segregated areas in cinemas for people who want to eat cheesy popcorn. Jesus... the smell....

Boo to you. I love me my cold popcorn and maltesers mix. Its nothing to do with melting. I just love the textures.

Balbriggan cinema tends to be empty when I go. I also make sure I sit way off by my own. it tends to be others who come sit near me (like sheep; I don't get why people do that in the cinema. Tonnes of free chairs and everyone groups together). If people decide to sit near me, they can't complain about the smell and if they do, they can move :P

I once took this chick to the cinema who did this. I was disgusted with her. Told her I'll be back in a minute i need the jax. She is probably still waiting for me.
