I really can't stand text speak.I have to say though if I was Treacys hotel I would have kept it Private...

They were spot on to do it in public, she maligns their good name => they give her the true story and the she looks even more of an idiot.

I would have said the hotel should have kept it private only then the only public statement on it would have been from her and people might have believed her story and taken the hotels silence as guilt.

Wonder did the Groom get to get in first or did he have to settle for sloppy seconds (or 3rds/4ths etc.)

Had to read the story 3 times before it actually sank in. Why cant people write in English !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,154 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

I didn't think people actually wrote like that unless they were texting. Is she so busy at being a full time mother that she doesn't have the time to type out "this", so she has to write "dis"? Surely holding down a button to get a "2" takes as long to do as just typing "to"

    2 main reasons I'd say:

    1. They're stupid.
    2. They think by writing in that way that they are somehow cool and "with it".

The reaction is worse than her 'crime' of being a poor speller and being gullible enough to believe her fiancée, tbh. Who said, "She's made her bed?" Seriously?! You do realise what you're essentially saying is, "I think she deserves to feel miserable and humiliated, as well as having her wedding day potentially ruined, because she's a poor speller."

I hope that some of the smart arses who think ripping into her entire life now are caught out in a low moment to be openly ridiculed. Ireland's a small country, and she's got to keep living after we all stop laughing.

The hotel are worse for starting all of this, though. They could have easily alluded to the incident without revealing all. In a professional environment, no matter how much you want to run down the customer, you should still always bite your tongue.

But it's the Internet and it's Ireland, where safety in numbers/anonymity and an inherent need to 'get' someone lead to this absolute ****e...

She made a very public and poorly-researched complaint against the hotel. She put her hands out to be slapped IMHO. It's not her fault her fiance acted the bollox, but its her fault for tearing into the hotel having just taken his word as gospel.

Yeah, you're right. Doing something like that does mean you deserve the entire nation mocking you, raiding your Facebook page and even ripping into your children. I mean, I'm sure nobody on Facebook, Twitter or boards has ever made a mistake that misguided, so they're fully entitled to mock her.

Sorry to be the buzzkill, but I hate when the Internet gets all high and mighty like this. I said before that Internet justice is like punishing 'looking for attention' with gang rape. It's pathetic and I'm sure any one person here could easily be made a show of with enough digging through their closet. Well congrats lads, if/when it happens to you, now you can't complain that you didn't deserve it.

Rules were broken in the hotel therefore hotel were legally within their rights. I wouldnt give their deposit bank under any circumstances after all that trouble that was caused.

There are a few places to drink until 2am there!

Tbh this carry on has nothing on what went on in that hotel when it was 'Breens' nightclub, you could get in the door by giving one particular bouncer 20p :pac:

I remember that, skip queue & give the bouncer some cash, viola you get in like a VIP.

Fair play to the hotel for putting out that reply in public, the guys acted the bollix & deserved to lose their deposits plus a lot of explaining needs to be done to girlfriends etc. as to who yer one was that ended up in the room (how much did she cost?? )

The complainant comes across as a complete tool,I've seen similar on FB & the text speak is common, personally I hate it,use English folks-it's not that hard.

Why did she even write this here anyway. Her boyfriends and mates were in the wrong. Why come here to get humiliated more? She must be some clown

    arragh boo-hoo to her.

Why was she complaining about it in the first place? If anyone is going to complain it should be the stag or the best man & not the busy-body interfering fiancee who wasn't there and clearly hadn't a clue what went on.

She decided to start it by defaming a hotel in the open. She threatened to smear their good name among her friends and go to the media with her story about that hotel taking their customers' money and provide no service in return.
The fact is that the form she chose makes her look like an idiot. Her written communication is poor and looks like a bad imitation of a gangsta rapper.
She decided to wrongly accuse and threaten a hotel in times when good name means everything and where venues are doing their best to keep a loyal base of customers. They defended their good name in a very polite and decent way.
She has to bear responsibility for her own actions.

To be fair she posted it on Facebook so was asking for a response to be given in public, she did so without knowing the full story, so she needs to take this up with her fiance if she is feeling stupid now. Her spelling and grammar wont have helped her case in any way to actually write a letter of complaint like this is appalling and the height of ignorance. The Hotel asked her on more than one occasion to provide her details to them in private so they could deal with the issue the proper way, she refused this so the Hotel had no other option.

If she was worried about the publics perception of her she would have learned to write and spell properly and she would have gotten the full story from her fiance. She put it on Facebook to publicly slate the Hotel, however, it turned out she was in the wrong or at least the lads on the Stag Party.

The hotel explained what happened and thier stance on it, they gave the details of the night in a public forum as this was requested by the girl. If her or her fiance look bad as a result well they are the ones to blame.

Nowhere in the hotel's response does it imply that the stag was doing anything untoward with the female non guest. Most likely it was one of the lads on the stag that had her back there.

I dont have a problem with people laughing at her now, as she opened herself up for it with her ridiculous complaint and even more ridiculous spelling. She is obviously a Chav.

Scumbag behaviour (by her and the stag party) should be ridiculed. As someone said earlier, fair play to the hotel for sticking up for themselves instead of pandering to people like this.
And if her wedding day is potentially ruined, why are you blaming the hotel and not the actions of the husband and his mates? They're the ones that brought the girl back to the room, set off the fire alarm, ruined a load of other guests nights threatened staff in front of everyone and had the police called twice on them. No, not their fault at all, nor yer ones who ignored requests to take her post down and she continuted to make accusations about the hotel. No, it was the hotel that was completely unreasonable here

This stuff, genuinely, makes me angry. This isn't some reality TV schmo or the like who's put herself up for public scrutiny and possible humiliation. This is an Average Joe who has to deal with the problems and limitations that we all do. Yet the Internet doesn't make that distinction when its bored and looking for a thing to click, point and, then, laugh. It's pathetic.

She has to bear responsibility for her own actions.

And here's one way of handling that professionally:
I am deeply sorry that you feel that way, however I believe you have been misled by the true events of the night. I would be willing to provide you with a full explanation and CCTV evidence to back that up if you would be willing to pursue this further. However, rest assured, that we were fully within our legal rights to decline the deposit and delivered our best service on the night in question, despite several problems with the party in question.

Job done. If she asks, in public, what the problems were specifically, THEN they can reveal all.

But the Internet doesn't want this. Why? Not because of the BS "Fair play to them!" plaudits they laud upon the hotel. Because they're bored and, truth be told, a little low on themselves and could use a gee up of being able to mock and laugh at somebody else.

And, as bad as her attempt at spelling was, that's just as sad.

He should have booked the Maryland, much cheaper by all accounts

The hotel he stayed in is fairly high class, they don't like messers in there at all.
