The latest script is in the first post. Make sure you copy the lot of it - not just part of it. It works fine in opera.

Looks a bit 'meh'. I think I'll wait until a Service Pack when they realised the metro was a bit of a disaster for desktops, and they patch in extra options to return it to normal. :pac:

There's one or two new features that are improved - most notably the copy system - but not worth upgrading from 7, I think. I'm not sure I'd even go for it on a new system where the choice is 7 or 8.

7 was a quite a well done OS and didn't need waiting for service packs as it was pretty much a very cleaned up Vista.

8 undoubtedly needs some revision as it's not even natural to use aside from getting used to the interface.

robocopy for all your copying needs!, have tried the dev build of 8 and really didn't like it, its so horribly unintuitive, it really is just a tablet OS.
Maybe I'll give it another shot at some point, but I don't see myself moving off 7 for it unless it changes from it's current iteration.

Jesus Fluffy Thanks that was some effort to go to on my account sorry!

I remember now its a popup window - I'm not getting that for some reason I'll have to see why - could be a popup blocker?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Fluffy88

CamTasia is a great little video maker thingy, very little effort required.

It's not a popup window so that won't be it, not really sure what it could be.
Have you tried it with any other of the sites to see does it work on them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,224 ✭✭✭Procrastastudy

Does the same thing on Dabs - black square no wee window. Very odd! Sorry its obviously something my end.

Yeah I'll have to look into it a little more when I get home.
    It's quite strange.

    Your using Firefox? Latest version?

Happy to report that I got my Logilink wireless card working thanks to sarz91. The card comes with a PCI bracket that isn't the right length and had to be bent back to let it plug in all the way - me being a complete noob didn't realize that it needs to 'click' in. That means my build was a resounding success! May just have to reapply some thermal paste using pea method. Would the Thermal paste I got with my Macho be ok to use 7 days after my build or would it be all hardened up (its not sealed. also Ive no idea if it hardens up or not!).

Pretty sure 1 out of the 3 outputs has to be displayport.

Has to be an active display port connector or adapter.

just remembered. 2312hm does not have hdmi. fail on my side :o

it has a fullsize display port and 680 has a full size display port too. so i just need a displayport cable?

Sorry are we talking nVidia here?

If so I've not a clue - I thought you needed two cards for three displays under nVidia.

670/680 do multymonitor setups on one card.

my 680 has a full size displayPort, 2312hm has full size too. i dont know how is it better to do now and where to get such cable. komplett is useless when it comes to cables.

I'd have two on DVI and one on DP if thats possible - having one monitor on MiniDP to VGA didn't work for me but that was an AMD set up.

    Peats have DP port cables.

Do the monitors still have to be identical in nVidia setups?

did they ever needed to be? as long as all of them same resolution there should not be any problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Fluffy88

With nVidia you don't need to use Displayport at all, so what ever connections your card has you can use any three of them.

With AMD you need to use one DP.
I know this as of this evening while listening to a podcast on my journey home, how lucky :)

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-surround-system-requirements.html

Note any 3 digital connectors in single card mode - I think your VGA needs changing :(

Ah its only for 3D surround sorry! (Identical monitors)

    GeForce GTX 680 Single-GPU Surround

The GTX 680 allows three Surround monitors to run simultaneously through the GTX 680’s two DVI connectors, single HDMI connector and single DisplayPort connector.

Any combination of connectors and monitors is A-OK in 2D Surround, though in 3D Vision Surround the two DVI connectors and single DisplayPort connector must be utilized, and users must have three matching 3D Vision monitors. Furthermore, the 3D Vision monitor connected to the DisplayPort requires a DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter if the monitor lacks native DisplayPort compatibility. You can purchase adapters from the NVIDIA Online Store and Club 3D. Users wishing to avoid this additional purchase should turn their attention to the BenQ XL2420T and BenQ XL2420TX NVIDIA 3D Vision LightBoost monitors, the first to feature built-in DisplayPort connectors that support 3D.

Hmmm seems they need to share "common timings".

Can you do me a favour Shadow? When you get this set up can you see if it stretches the image like eyefinity does on the side monitors. I'm really not sure I like it.

well if my VGA monitor wont work with this then its off for now. buying one 185eu monitor is not that hard, but no way i can buy 2 of these now + 30eu display adapter :(. it will have to wait so :(

No DVI on the VGA bad boy? What is it out of interest? I think all the displays have to be the same size resolution at least.

its oldish LG w2243s. its 1080p, but has only VGA. i always used it as a secondary monitor, so it never bothered me.
now looks like it will bite me in the arse. :(

So seems dabs did change their website hence the script wasn't working on dabs, that should be fixed now.
But I have no idea why it's not working for you GCD on hwvs.

Could you try using this script.
...snip....
When you run it if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there should be some text.
Copy and paste it for me. Maybe do it in a PM just so we don't clog up this thread.

I'm only replying here as I've just realised what it is. I'm so sorry Fluffy!

Because I have a eyefinity setup my resolution is 5184 x 1050 - the window your script is generating it popping up way, way over to the right of the visible area. Which, of course, I couldn't see because I have it resized to fit on one monitor.

    I do apologise, profusely!

haha, I may take a look at that some time, anyone want to lead me a few monitors and a couple of GPU's??? :P

Hosted a lan yesterday, mate brought his full tower over. When I saw it the first thing I did was take it out to the garden table and get out the airgun. The CPU cooler wasnt just dusty, it had a mass of dust all around the base of the fan in the fins, a complete block. How the f@ck it didnt go on fire I dont know. It saddens me to see good computers so abused, he hadnt cleaned it since he got it five years ago.

Lads. Harddrives. I need them. I only have 350GB left. I also have about the same to be downloaded from steam.

Where the hell do I get decent size drives on the cheap now?
