what causes brown toilets stains?

    My housemates are blaming me for brown toilet stains in the toilet bowl because i don't flush after a piss.

    They want me to pay for the cleaning, but i said my generic piss in no way causes dark brown stains.

    So wtf makes toilets brown?

    Its hardly my piss

    i try removing the brown marks on my toilet by pissing on them. might take a few goes to get rid of a good skid mark

    Pour a good bit of bleach or domestos on there and leave it for a few hours without flushing the toilet. Usually does the trick

    It's from dropping the kids at the pool, a little bleach once in a while will sort that out

    Blast it with zero lime scale.

    Works a treat. use it when the bowl is dry,cos it just dribbles down and wont cling on the sides just after a flush.

    Well it could be one of two things:

    1) You never clean the toilet and are generally filthy.

    or

    2) You've a lot of limescale and/or iron oxide in the water. In which case, you just need to buy one of those 100% Limescale Remover toilet cleaners. Put loads of it onto the toilet and leave over night. Flush and it should be totally gone in the morning.
