What's the gameplay side of Shogun 2 like? I'm a Rome pro and hated Empire, which one is it closer to? I really hate the Warscape engine :(. It's just so unmoddable!

I did not played empire or Rome.

Though I can honestly say that shogun 2 is a pimped out shogun 1. In a good way. It really feels like shogun 1. It's simplyer and more straight forward. Still huge game though.
Like I said: get ssd if you plan playing shogun 2. Loading game and restarting battles takes forever. I can't remember when the last time I have seen such huge loading times!!!
I guess it's lucky I have an SSD then :D

    I've played (each to varying degrees) shogun, mtw/viking invasion, rome/barbarian invasion/alexander, mtw2/kingdoms, & empire.

Didn't really enjoy empire that much and didn't play it that much. That was partly due to it running so poorly on my old rig at the time it came out. I guess I'll give it a go again, on my brand spanking new pc though :D

I probably played shogun1, mtw1 & rome more than the others though.
Always loved the risk-style gameplay on the strategic map that was present on shogun1 & mtw1 before they changed it for rome though.

I got this great app Package Buddy on android. Its for man-babies (like me) who keep checking tracking websites waiting for their order. It notifies you when the status of your order changes. Also I approached the Post lady like a big creep this morning asking if she had two big boxes. Not going to be able to concentrate at work knowing that my order is sitting at home!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,924 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

Came back home and found a pice of paper: "sorry, you were not at home, soap we could not deliver your package, you can collect it from post office from 16:00"

    ****. 2 more hours!!! :d

you sure it doesn't say from 16:00 next business day?

never had a package note like that where I didn't have to wait a full day to pick it up

Nope. It says today. Happened to me before. Allways pick it up same day, but from the hours mentioned on paper.

I'm going for Payday the heist & Harley Quinn's Revenge (for today :D), But when i go to buy HQ Revenge, I get this error@

'Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy a game that requires ownership of another game you do not currently own. Please correct the error and try again'

I own the retail box version, is there anyway I can add to steam so I can get around this?

For people looking at Payday: The Heist, it's $4.99 on amazon.com
    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-40814Y-The-Heist1-Download/dp/B005QF1OSG/

After conversion charges, it should still be 50c or so cheaper. Activates on steam, BTW.

Open the steam client, click the games tab, and then 'Activate a game on steam'

Pop in the CD key that came with the game (assuming it had one) and it should work for you.

Just been looking at how I'm going to install the hr-02 cooler. One of the screws securing the heatsink to the plate can only be screwed in by access through the hole running through the top of the heatsink. Guess I'll need to grab myself a longer screwdriver, like 7 or 8" long shaft tomorrow.

Just a quick one (don't shoot!): Is Half-Life any good? Yes I've never played it, but am hoping to rectify that very very soon. I can pick up the HL complete collection (all HL games and expansions) for €18.99 on Steam.

So, is it worth it? Is HL 1 any good or should I just buy HL 2 along with episode 1 and 2?

    Decisions Decisions :o.

I played them years after they came out too and they are well worth it. Unbeliveable atmosphere in those games that has stayed with me.

Emm I think I got spare hl2 and team fortress collection which has hl episodes too in my steam gifts/items. If you want I can give them to you ( need to check first if I still got it)

Hl1 was great back in the day, but now it will be a bit dated. Hl2 still look and plays good. If your pc is very high spec them get HD mod. Good games, classics at this stage

    Google "cinematic mod for hl2"

I don't know which version is out ATM, I don't even think my pc wil be able to handle it too.

Some games like HL1 one would be good on less powerful machines like laptops without 3D cards. Do they have Shogun 1? Loved that.

If you can then try to finish hl1, then opposing force and then blue shift. The whole incident will be shown from 3 perspective which is very cool. Them play hl2 as you will be way more attached to characters.

I'm going to play HL1: Source, would that be ok? I presume it'd still be as good as the original, just with updated graphics.

Opposing force first, and then blue shift, or does it really matter?

    HL 1 is 30% downloaded :D.
