The most anticipated game of the past couple of years?

You what?! No way in hell!

Perhaps as more details come out, but they REALLY need to up their game from GTA 4... the game simply wasn't fun!

Am I the only one who taught Gta 4 was class lol ? I started playing it again last month after a solid year or 2 break.

Have to say I really appreciated it when I started playing it again, just the free roam online can be a good laugh.

I only play FIFA and cod so going back to Gta was a breath of fresh air tbh. The graphics are stunning IMO.

I hated it the first time but loved it the second time. Try it again and I reckon you'll enjoy it a lot more. I think expectations were impossibly high the first time.

C'mon guys. Jeez. Clearly the screens and accompanying text are fake.

As if Rockstar would post information on their own website. Clearly the site was hacked and the fakes put up without them knowing.

This forum; I despair, I really do.

    :pac:

Ah, no, seriously, it looks pretty good, alright. First thing I noticed (and it's a negative, unfortunately) is that the city really lacks anything to set it apart from IV in the arial view (people were complaining for years about the "concrete jungle" and how boring it was, though I personally never minded it, and I love IV) but the thing i noticed that bugged me a little is the lack of cars on the road.

I know it's not an actual finished gameplay screen, but my biggest issue with IV was the severe lack of traffic.

The second screen looks amazing, and is a step in the right direction. Fairly Vice City-ish. Nice, colourful and relaxing, almost.

The quick "Q+A" (if you could call it that) doesn't make up for the "shut up talking about it or we'll ban you!" attitude they'd adopted on the site over the last while, though. Still majorly looking forward to the game, and we all know it'll be an amazing one, but my opinion of R* is still pretty low.

I'm a strong believer that IV go far more flack than it deserved, because people wanted another San Andreas, and when R* decided to go down a different route the man-babies got cwanky. :pac: :pac:

Anyway, screens look good, but we didn't get anything really new from them tbh.

I would tend to agree with a previous poster who said this "it'll be a while yet" sounds like a bluff to me. I expect something more substantial at Gamescom.

Grand Theft Auto fans are very impatient. Rockstar constantly get flack from everyone who wants the game to come out this year. The two screens were to only keep the trolls happy for a bit.

I think they'll show something at Gamescom and the release will be in 2013 for sure. I think GTA V will be one of the last big games on this gen of consoles. Watch Dogs looks to be a Grand Theft Auto competitor of some sort.

All that being said, the screens are amazing and there is an obvious improvement on the universe since IV.

If they didn't want impatient fans then they should STOP MAKING SO MANY FRICKIN' EPIC GAMES!:mad::mad::pac::pac::pac:

Nah, I think Watch Dogs is going down the more Sci-Fi route. (not that that's a bad thing, just I can see many GTA fans choosing it over V)

Compared to their last games, the fans have increased in vast numbers and are demanding more. When IV was released, GTA V was being mentioned. Not that more fans is a bad thing.

Yeah I know what you mean. Personally, I'm happy to wait as long as it takes. It's better this way then to have it Guitar Hero'd into the ground.

Of course. One thing about Rockstar, they don't care if their game isn't ready for Gamescom and the likes. They'll only bring out the game once it's 110% finished. The longer the wait, the more everyone will appreciate.

if it looks like this im not interested
for a start the first pic doesnt look massive no bigger that iv and its all city and ill admit the second pic looks good but not up to everyone's expectations

    ZOMG them graphics look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anything thinks that the game will look anything like that on current gen consoles then you're just plain stupid. Look at those smooth lines. Consoles don't do anti aliasing remember.

Can someone tell me why they believe the game world to be huge based on those pics? I know theres a way of telling but explain it

    From the above link:
“Hey guys hope everything is good over there in Rockstar. Just a question referring to GTA 4, the game was brilliant and I really enjoyed and still do, but what disappointed me was the lack of planes and jets... Can you tell me why you didn't include them, I'm sure you have a very valid reason?” – via Mouthoff

The city was simply too small for effective and enjoyable flying. It was the first time we made a high definition open world, and it was a massive amount of work to make something on that scale – we simply could not make an environment big enough for planes to work properly. Fear not, they are returning in what is our biggest open world game to date.

Bigger than San Andreas....OMFG. Come on release date!

    Seriously?
How big are your expectations, can i ask?

Also, its quite evident to anyone who clicked the link in my post they aren't fake. (Hence why they have gotten a place in the thread title)

    Could be the PC version.

Woke up this morning, and, still in a near-comatose state while barely having my eyes open, thought to myself "feck it, I'll get up and have a game of GTA V" (then I obviously quickly realised it's not out).

Still though, this morning (for no apparent reason) I had a bit of an urge to play it. Was actually momentarily annoyed that I didn't have it to hand.

First time I've felt that way in about 8 months. The mind is a strange thing at times.

For the sake of it can we throw up a poll speculating on the release date ?

    Something like :

    • Nov-Jan
    • Feb-Apr
    • May-Jul
    • Aug-Oct

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 816 ✭✭✭Opinicus

I was in a Gamestop today and they actually had a shelf of GTA V boxes saying "Reserve Now, Release Mar 2013". FFS

Would be better to start a new thread with that poll. Keep this one for news rather than speculation IMO.
