Reading through this thread and the whole Primal thing sounds very interesting. I'd like to give it a shot but I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago. Would the high fat content affect me differently?

Im into my second week of Paleo eating. Now its not perfect yet but Im getting there. I think it takes a while to get used to as its a whole new way of eating and thinking about food.

But Im definately finding that Im not as bloated as I was and I havent got the uncomfortable full feeling where you cant move - pasta & carbs really are addictive!

Im still having milk in my tea/coffee but stopped eating cheese/yoghurts and having cereal for breakfast. Im having protein shakes with berries and flax oil for breakfast. I still cant face actually cooking in the morning - but one step at a time.

I started training last weeks for the dublin city marathon in october (17 weeks to go!) and I've bought the Paleo for athletes book. I havent lost anything on the scales yet but Ive definately lost the bloat on the stomach & i feel a bit smaller all in only 8-9 days! I think my friends think im nuts though as they have seen me do mad diets before - this is one Ill be doing longterm though!
Hope ye are all doing well - keep the recipes coming!

This thread has been a mind of info for me, thank u all. I've slowly introduced a more paleo diet over the past 6.5 weeks, removing bit by bit... I'm now on day 4 of Whole 30...

It's not easy, but getting better... I've ordered it starts with food but decided to start the 30days without it, just using the website to guide me.

I didn't realise how addicted to sugar I WAS, was not in a good mood yesterday!

Going to stick with it, despite the weird looks from colleagues when I take out my breakfasts in the morning... :). Very excited about the book arriving!

Recipe from whole9 forum I have to share, SO SO good

This is one of my favorite dishes but is normally made with brown sugar and wine. I picked up some chicken thighs and legs at a farmers market last week and wasn't sure what to do with them until I realized I could make this favorite Paleo-friendly! It turned out AMAZING. I served mine over cauliflower mashed, but it would also be great over any veggie.

2.5 lbs chicken thighs & legs
1 clove of garlic, peeled and chopped
    1/8 cup dried oregano
coarse salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup pitted and chopped dates
    1/4 cup spanish green olives
1/4 cup capers with a bit of juice

    1. Preheat oven to 350
    2. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients except for the chicken
    3. Place chicken in a baking dish and cover with the combined ingredients (make sure the fatty side is facing up)
    4. Bake for 1 hour, basting frequently with pan juices
When done, serve over mashed cauliflower and add lots of the pan juices

Here's a quick question for all ye paleo folk:)

I've been off dairy, grains, legumes and the likes for a few months now..the only thing vice I've left to cut out of my diet is chocolate...and tbh just havent had the motivation to do it .......yet! Have to big myself up before I do that...confessed chocoholic here!

Anyways, I used to find that a yoghurt always settled my stomach after a big meal. Just wondering does anyone have any ideas of something i could use to settle my stomach instead?

    Also..any paleo friendly icepop recipes?

    Please and thank you!:)

Yeh, I actually already tried it and to no avail:( I always get a craving for something full of dairy after a big meal eg. milk, yoghurt, cottage cheese right after a meal...strange!!

To all the fellow fitness and Paleo enthusiasts (particularly running),

    Best post-workout foods and drinks?
I used to have chocolate milk and some tuna/salmon sambos!

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if post cardio is the same as post weight-training?
But basically lean protien, little to no fat, and some carbs. So for example some baked chicken breast & sweet potato.

Is your kindle linked to amazon.com? Just change the URL to .com

I got around the not available to Ireland by changing my address on my amazon ac to a uk one. You just have to be careful to choose correct address when ordering a real delivery.
