The fact that he sniffs after every conversation to the camera slightly disturbs me...

I could be wrong, but reading between the lines it kinda sounds like the car was written-off (unknown reason), impounded, and in the impound, it was found that the tank contained dodge fuel
He crashed it a couple of weeks ago in Donnybrook.

It's not a defense afaik. Being in possession is the crime. Same with drugs.

bollix, how can you possibly know if it's legit fuel or not if coming from a garage?
Not saying its right or wrong. Just how the law sees it.

Well that a problem with the law. I thing I heard of a case where someone was pulled and he had gotten green diesel from a garage without known and it turned out to be true

It's TV3, so I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't paid at all and lured in with promises of free boarding, food and 'exposure'. These are the kind of saps who'd fall for that line too.

I did hear a quote that they were being paid €4,000 per nightclub appearance, but I imagine that those bookings have since dried up. And part of the reason that these reality TV show 'stars' command such high fees is that appearing on these things generally make them unemployable in the 'real world'.

Now they're all 'agented up', so I'd say they'd be paid a decent amount for the new series. But still, that's a decent amount for a TV3 though (I'd guess around €10k for a few weeks filming), and it's easier to spend that on a ratings winner.

Woah, I used way too many 'inverted commas' in that post...

I think I read somewhere that the Geordie Shore crowd were paid anything between £80-100 per day of filming, if the show is shot over 4weeks and we say thats 28 days then thats between £2240 - £2800 for filming for the month.

Handy if you can get it considering your living for free in a house and bills paid.

Doubt the Talifornia crowd are getting paid crazy money for the next series though.

You do realise there is random check points that dip the tank, Customs and Garda are at them. In fact i see them all the time at certain locations.

Your knowledge on this disturbs me....

    I did not know this.

So ... does this mean I cant dip my wick in ya? :pac:

Do you expect him to check the colour of the diesel in the pump before he puts it in his car ?

Not if the station was selling it for roughly the same as others were selling white diesel for.

I don't think you understand the trick. The fuel is sourced cheaper and allows the station to turn a better profit with illegal diesel.

I know Kelly, they didn't get paid anything for the show, they just got paid for promotions for the show. Obviously they had everything paid for, the house was actually massive, there was a massive second sitting room they didn't show on the show. They got paid for doing guest appearances and they were still doing that until about a months ago, I don't know if they still are.

Anyone got a number for him? Want to use him as my regular taxi... not that I order taxis very regularly. Might get a few tips about pumping up the guns.

I think he is the first person I ever heard of getting caught for agri D in dublin.
I know loads of people who use it and have been for the last 20 years.
None of them have ever been dipped. I've never ever seen dipping at any check point i've ever seen either.
The chances of getting caught must be tiny altogether.

There are checkpoints being set up pretty regularly in certain ares of Dublin,They include SW & revenue and of course the Garda, Most commercial vehicles are checked as are taxes and private buses.

I've passed through 5 checkpoints in Dublin in the last 12 months where they've been dipping. All of them were big checkpoints, morning rush hour, and had gardaí, customs and social welfare.

Twice near Cherrywood, once on the south quays heading towards Heuston, and can't remember the other two.

You must be the unluckiest person alive.

I've seen none dipping in 25 years driving in Dublin every morning and evening.

Majority of women don't like the beef cake look. Honestly any time I've seen that guy while flicking through the channels I thought - that guy looks like he is walking around with a pole shoved up his ass :(
