As usual, mine is long spent before I receive it! Will you let me know when you receive yours? It would make sense that you get yours before I get mine.
    Thanks!

They normally take a few weeks to come throught, you mightn't get it for at least another fortnight.

    So 280 scripts, 4.80 per script, 1 day conference, I'd say I won't clear 800euro!

It'll hardly be worth it in a couple of years time!

agree 100% with you there doc
i usually do work with them mid-year as well but have to my husband, this year was the last year -- so not worth it the last couple of years - just did it out of habit last year i suppose - won't be doing it next year -- a lot of work at a busy time in school anyway for a much reduced payment in recent years ..
has anyone had problems with the wrong level in their bundles this year? i have and apparently wasn' the only one from my conference either ... was wondering was there a lot of new superintendent's this year? are the more experienced people just not doing it anymore cos it's not worth their while?

62% ( assuming you have a FT job) is what you will lose after taxes are taken. I'm not gonna be killed working(only correcting FL) but I'd imagine unless you are correcting something like English (yes much harder but so much more worth it financially) you will be wondering whether to continue on with it.

I haven't had a problem with my script levels

    €4.80 per script????

I'm getting €9.72 for OL LC Bio.

Will pick up about 330 scripts tomorrow.

I moved SRCOP & tax credits to the SEC so I'll see some of the money.

How long does it take you to correct a script?

And what does HL biology get per script?

no, different rates for different exams. some papers take a lot more work than others.

    It depends.
Sometimes takes an hour, sometimes 10 seconds depending on how much/little is written.

HL Bio is about €13.50 I think

Remember reading something here last year about someone correcting maths that got a 1200 advance payment. By the time they had finished and taxes etc taken they actually owed the SEC money

I received €900 advance today. I'm correcting JC Higher Maths and conference was on 20th June. Never too busy to spend money:-)

Considering its 4.80 for JCFL that's fairly sh*t. I won't be in any hurry to move up. How long would it take you to correct one?

I think if you can get more Ord Level papers, ie nearly 500, then it's worthwhile staying at Ord level as you can get so quick at them. The big drawback with higher level is they do not write on test paper. However this will change with project maths.

At the moment it's safe to say on average I am correcting six an hour. So ten minutes a script. However, the revisions are a nightmare because you need to locate question or part of questions in the answer booklet and that takes forever.

I found Ord level so easy but I do think it's worth the hassle at higher level To be able to progress to leaving cert in a few years.

Suppose it depends on the subject, level and fee per script. Also for teachers without full-time hours it might be more worthwhile for experience and you get to keep more of your money.

    What are you correcting?

Correcting JC Spanish 5.81 a paper.

Still no advance? 2 full weeks waiting now, so much for 'within 5 days of the conclusion of the conference'.. I wonder how they'd be if I was late with grades?!

Cutbacks are starting to show now. Thre were probably retirements in the SEC and they are starting to show their effects now

That sounds a bit mad. I'm getting 7.77 for OL JC Religion. There's a journal with it, but that's little to no effort really.
