It's good to hear it's not that bad. Just reduced the price on the Tiguan and had a few more calls from DoneDeal so things are looking up. I've also got it on adverts - see sig - but if you need any more info just send me a pm

Doesn't seem a million miles out of the way to be fair, but a lot of people would spend the extra grand or so to get a dealer warranty.

it's a lovely jeep in the right colour and spec. Just becareful when selling something of that high value privately

I'm nearly 100% theres an RS6 on carzone that has had a hair cut, I seem to remember recently it had a 150,000miles. Just a heads up.

Any thoughts on what could be considered a better car would be most appreciated

Buy one of these private, they're worth nothing.

My brother in law had one for 7 years nearly (bought one new in 03 and then in 05).

i still think the facelift (as above) is a nice car, but his 2.0 turbo Gti after it was way better on fuel.

Would a 2 litre not use alot more on fuel and be alot more in insurance and Tax etc? Also with it being a automatic that one is a no goer for myself.

Also the two i posted above, both around the 7k mark, what price should i aim to get them at?

I like the one you posted, except i love the way in the newer model the way the radio is.

I like them! Thats not to say they're not a bad car but for a bit of style and spec, most had sunroof and leather/half leather, you couldnt go far wrong. Wouldnt like to be doing high miles in one due to fuel costs, but my brother in law bought one new in 05, drove 140,000 in and had very little if any bother.

Was looking at a car from a dealer today, advertised as full service history, but on inspection, there was no stamps in the book, but the service print outs were inclosed on the garage headed paper. Print outs were for the same garage/dealer selling the car, and the orriginal dealer which it was sold from when new.

Would this be a concern that the book is not stamped?

Very annoying website, no prices on anything and no reg numbers on anything, would put me off straight away.

What county was the car registered in?

Leitrim. Has had 4 or 5 services, are not printed in the book, but have the headed printouts with with was done enclosed.

Sounds a bit suspect to me but then again it's plausible.

Do a history check on it.

Doesn't say anything about tax or test, and even at that it seems slightly over priced.

if it was tested and came for 2000 it would be a good, reliable buy.

The easiest thing to do is pretend you need a few parts, ring a breakers and see how you get on.

Theres plenty of them around, my uncle has one and never has any hassle.

It isn't fair to be suspicious of all sellers who insist on meeting buyers in public places.

Sellers are unlikely to want absolute strangers visiting their homes - Meeting in a public place is a defence against that.

Hows it going folks, I'm looking for some advice on these cars:
Audi A4
VW Passat
Mondeo
Any advice on what to look out for with these particular models? Or any other cars I should consider? The time has come to replace our ancient toyota corolla. I'm looking for something with plenty of space, and hopefully relatively cheap to tax and insure. My budget would be €5000 at most.
