How Many Countries Have You Travelled To??

    How many countries have you travelled to througout your life?

    No this is not a pissing contest, I did this on a uk forum and just want to see how irish people compare. My suspicion is that Irish people are better travelled than British people.

    I recognise there was a massive thread on this on where people have travelled. But I'm not so interested in where you've travelled, but how many nations/states/territories you've travelled.

    I've been to 23 states/territories:

    England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic Of Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Spain, San Marino, Faroe Islands, Greece, Estonia, Tunisia, Portugal, Czech Republic, U.A.E, Australia

    I decided not to include the UK as one country this time (although some say it should be), so for the purpose of this poll I'm including states and territories as well (Vatican city counts for example). I included Northern Ireland just for sake of political correctness, not on belief so people can just list 'Ireland' if they want.

    Meh its ok considering I'm only 25 I think, obviously I'd like to be more travelled. How about you guys??

    Not many;

    England, France, Spain, Greece, Croatia, U.S.A. (California), Lanzarote, Italy, Finland - Think that's it.

    So 9?
    I've been to a few of them a few times though.

    10 if you include Northern Ireland.

    Never travelled much (cheap travel wasn't as accessable when I was young enough to roam) :(

    5. Federal Republic of Germany (as it was when I was there)
    6. Isle of Man ?? ( self governing 'Crown Dependancy' & not part of the UK or EU AFAIK).

    Might visit Wales this year!! :rolleyes:

    Tunisia(6 hours on a boat, never actually touched land, dont know if it counts either?)

    So between 11 and 15 either way. Would love to have travelled a bit more, but Im only 21 so hopefully I'll get through them yet! :)

    No they don't. They count as part of Spain. I've listed Spain but only have been to Majorca. :)

    Then you would have to ask whether the other regions in Spain should count separately, particularly places with a unique language such as the Basque Country!

    Northern Ireland (It counts! ... clutching at straws here! :o )
    England (London)
    Wales (just drove through it)
    Scotland (twice)
    France, a few times
    Spain (twice - Barcelona, and around there)
    Italy (Naples and down along the Amalfi Coast)
    Czech Republic (Prague)
    Switzerland (Lausanne, also travelled to Bern, Geneva, a few other places)

    I think that's it. Really have to leave Europe one of these days!
