Don't know what Real want with either Modric or Silva, both would be second choice by my reckoning. It will very interesting to see where Higuain goes, he's a cracking player, himself and Messi seem to get on very well (on the pitch) for Argentina, but I suppose there zero chance he'd end up at Barca.

Could see Modric getting plenty of game time at Madrid myself

    Sami----Xabi----
    Ozil
    Luka
    Ronnie
    Benz

    Di Maria has been immense.

Wouldnt go as far as immense, but he has been very good yeah.

There are plenty of games at Madrid, Modric can play in a couple of positions, so can Di Maria for that matter, I am simply demonstrating that there is a place for Modric in that team.

There's also no way I'd move Ozil out of that central position to accommodate Modric.

I could see Jose doing it though (he already does shift him out wide occasionally) :) Luka could fill in as an advanced central player, or one of the deeper two, in that respect I think he would play enough to justify Madrid buying him.

That would open up the window for United to sign Sahin :)

Maybe. But moving Ozil from his best position would be mental imo. Yes he gets shunted to the left occasionally, but his best position is definitely in the centre. He's also a much better player tham Modric for that position. Alonso is also much better than Modric imo. So really he'd be battling with Khedira, who Jose loves and I can't see dropping.

Also, I've never seen the bigfuss over Modric tbh. Decent player? Yes. Worth a massive transfer fee? No, imo.

I agree, I dont see him as a 40million pound player myself, I think he is a very good player, just not as good as a lot of others seem to think. I was beginning to think I was the only one!

Himself and Lahm have been the best full backs in the competition.

For some reason we never seem to take up the ridiculously talented players they sell off though... sneijder, van der vaart for example. Whether they just don't want to sell them to us or what I don't know. But as fans we always seem to see that its a no brainer - sneijder went for about €15 mill and van der vaart from about €10 if I'm not mistaken.

I have no evidence of this but I think if Man United had bid what Spurs did for VDV it would have been rejected.

No way is Di Maria getting dropped/Ozil moving from the no.10

    Modric
    Alonso---
    Di Maria
    Ozil
    Ronaldo
    Higuain/Benzema

With Khedira to play tough games to add a bit of steel, no need for him otherwise.

Modric to RM is a good possibility.. Remember hearing during the season that there's some issue with Di Maria and his contract. On poor wages by comparison to fellow team-mates and RM not interested in re-negotiating his contract at the mo.. He may look to move to get better terms

Yep, my example was just one him to be in the team as I already said, given that Di Maria has been left out and Ozil shifted to the left before. I did mention he could fill in for one of the deeper midfielders also.

Good move, better option than the SPL one team graveyard.

Plus he'll fulfill a boyhood dream of playing with Kevin Davies

Just wondering actually would any teams be interested in picking up Stuart Holdem from Bolton - very good player imo

Had a great Euros, not surprising a decent club has picked him up.

Id guess any team watching him would wanna see at least six months injury free first before they would commit to a move for him, definitely good enough to be a mid table PL player.

Real Madrid have improved midfielder Angel Di Maria's contract by offering him an additional €1 million per year, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
    Don't Miss

The former Benfica man, who arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2010, played a vital role in the team's Liga success last season, and has been rewarded handsomely with a wage increase, taking his income from €2m to €3m per year.

Di Maria is two years into his five-year contract with Los Blancos, and had been expecting a financial improvement in his deal last summer.
“I am anxiously awaiting a response,” the 24-year-old told Radio La Red on June 17 2011. “They promised me that if things went well, I could increase [my basic wage].”
The Rosario-born winger missed 20 games for the Spanish champions last season with injury, but still managed to contribute seven goals and 14 assists to the campaign.

Not a chance of him getting into the Celtic team anyways, not good enough although he'd be handy to have around the dressing room. I rather Celtic be signing the ilk of Markus Henriksen not EPL journeymen.

I'd say he'd get into the team, Celtic are no better than the likes of West Brom or Blackburn.

Can you even name Celtic's 1st choice midfield?

Henriksen is quality. I think Arnesen is chasing him for HSV too but he should choose Celtic. He'll play right away, has European football and seeing the way a move to Germany went for his ex-teammate Skjelbred went wont fill him with confidence.

Yes. And even if I couldn't, Google could. What's your point?
