Not sure if it's been posted already but Liverpool are interested in Fabio Borini

Borini is a good talent. I only wish we at Chelsea exploited it more.

    :(

John Ruddy is being linked with Aston Villa, and Norwich are lining up Jack Butland as his replacement. I don't where this would leave Shay Given, as WBA are the only team in the PL without a keeper but they are lining up Ben Foster. It could leave Given as second choice at Villa or having to move a league down or go abroad.

    :(

We offered him a good deal, but the agent was greedy

I think Higuain would be outstanding in the EPL.

Last thing Man City need is another top class striker.

Although you could say the same regarding R.Madrid and creative midfielders.

City DO need. They have only Aquergo consistant. Maybe Tevez
They cannot rely on Balo or Dezeko and they know it

While I doubt this will happen QPR want Given.

QPR signed Rob Green today, so they will no longer be interested in Given.

Flamini was released by Milan today.

I wonder will he end up back in France or will an EPL team snap him up?

Or the lad wanted regular first team football as soon as possible?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 443 ✭✭Squelchy

Signings of Ryan Nelson, Andrew Johnson and Robert Green all on frees not hugely inspiring. I refuse to believe Green is a more reliable 'keeper than Kenny.
Anyway, as long as they are replacements for some soon-to-be shifted deadweight then that's not too bad. Need more reinforcements to avoid another season like last.

Andrew Johnson, I believe, only scored 3 league goals last season; a hat-trick against QPR.

No, it was more about the contract

"Negotiations went wrong at Chelsea so we both chose to go away and let the contract expire. At the end of the season they will get some compensation for me as a young player."

But yes, he is seen as one who we should have just paid what he wanted. His workrate and abliity was/is amazing

Fair enough. Still think he wouldn't have got much game time with you's at the present time though and if he did, he'd have probably have been chucked out in a wide position.

Is there a handy list of the latest high(ish) profile European transfers anywhere?

    I think they'll replace Dzeko.

Balotelli, for all his mad cap antics has all the ability in the world.

Aguero, well he doesnt need to be bigged up, he has been excellent.

Tevez, well theres another chin scratcher, does he want to stay or go.

I'd completely disagree with that to be honest. While Green can at times be a bit suspect under crosses, I feel he's a much much better keeper than Kenny. Personally I'm gutted, but not surprised, to see Green go. Gold and Sullivan didn't realise his value to the team until too late.
But he's been an amazing servant for us and I wish him all the best at QPR. I hope Jaaskelainen is an adequate replacement.

    Re:Borini to Liverpool.

    I wouldn't be surprised.
It looks like he won't be at Roma next season, they co-own him with Parma and all the noise from Parma is that Roma aren't interested in buying out their half of the contract and he could go back to Parma for next season (Roma still keeping their 50%).
If that is the case, then I wouldn't be surprised if he left.

He worked with Rodgers the second half of last season at Swansea and was nominated for the clubs player of the year award, Swansea even tried to sign him last summer.

Hmm, Dortmund have signed Schieber from Stuttgart on a undisclosed fee. Honestly not sure what to make of this one.

Also, Mido has signed for err.. Barnsley and Momo Diarra is off to Odense in Denmark.

    I really hate all this co-owning ****e.

    How does that work then?

Do Liverpool have to negotiate separately with both clubs, possibly negotiating a different fee for each half?

I've seen a few instances where 1 team will simply buy the other half of the players rights and then sell on directly, no idea if this is the norm, but it's happened a fair few times.

I agree. He might have stood a better chance if he had been there last season\this season as chelsea are trying harder to get youth in the first team

It's not all that complicated. Parma would buy Roma's 50% and then sell him to Liverpool for twice that amount.

So If Liverpool were paying €10m (About his valuation imho) Parma would buy Roma out for €5m and then sell him to Pool for €10m, it would all be done in the one sitting, it's just a case of lodging one set of forms with the league (parma buying roma out) and then signing the deal with Liverpool.

It's, honestly, not complicated at all.

Football Manager makes it all look complicated but it's not.

Also, tomorrow is the deadline for co-ownerships to be decided or else they go to a blind auction, Neither Roma or Parma will what that so I'd expect it to be sorted this evening as to where he is going, if either club buys the other out, I'd expect him to be sold on.

If they agree to delay it for a year, he won't be moving but could end up back at Parma.

Seaneh, on the Co-ownership deals, is El shaarawy co-owned by AC Milan and is either Genoa or Bari?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

    He was never at Bari.
He came from genoa's youth team.

This season gone Milan co-owned him with Genoa, they traded 50% of Alex Merkel's contract + about €5m for 50% of El Shaarawy's contract.

About a week ago they did a straight swap with Genoa, they got all of Merke and Milan got all of El Shaarawy.

Milan and Genoa have a weird relationship though.

Yesterday they loaned us Kevin Constant and sold us 50% Francesco Acerbi (who joins Milan).

    Short answer to your questiuon:

Stephen El Shaarawy is 100% an A.C. Milan player (as of about a week ago).

I know it was either Genoa or Bari, I just couldnt rememebr when it was mentioned on ESPN.

Shaarawy's a cracking player IMO, looking forward to see more from him this season.

Yeah, I really have high hopes for him, he's a very modern forward in that he can play out wide, as a striker or as an attaching central midfielder.

I really hope Milan play a front 3 of Him, Ibra and Pato a fair bit as himself and Pato are so quick I think they would put the fear of God in most defences.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,267 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

If Pato can be kept fit and injury free then AC Milan will have plenty of attacking power.

As you said that front three would be something any team would struggle with, Pato and El Shaarawy playing just infront of Ibra.

Also if Cassano and Robhino are kept then thats a formidable strike force to say the least.

All I know is, Schieber scored twice when both sides drew 4:4 in the Westfalenstadion, he is playing on the Barrio's position and apparently, Borussia Dortmund tabled 5.5 Milllion for him. (Source: Sport1.de)
