I'd start off with vodka redbulls and the drunker I get, the more I move onto double JD and cokes, shots, Jäger bombs and even pints of cider.

I'm really surprised the mix hasn't turned my stomach by now:confused:

Instead of givin it up completely I should prob sort out what I drink instead.

That's not drinking, that's fcukin' reckless...no offence
I'm shocked think I need a stiff drink...

    This.

Smug epistles on the merits of not drinking are usually as tedious as constant tales of drinking excess.

What's smug about it? The OP says he has a drinking problem and it's affecting his life. I don't think "drink moderately" is going to be much help to him tbh.

I'm a very moderate drinker but I'm not sure how that would help the OP.

It is really just the hangover the next day that puts me off drinking. I feel like it is just the biggest waste of a day ever :/

Tomorrow marks my 100th day sober! And yes it does mean I'm better than you

I feel sorry for people who can't enjoy alcohol responsibly and have to give it up altogether.

    Now that's smug!

I'm 18! How would I have a drinking problem that's effecting my life? It's not btw. I just need to cool down a bit.
Until I go to London next month I'll take it easy.

lol you didn't say that in the OP did you? I'm not sure why started this thread at all if you have it figured out already.

If Wompa who wrote post 16 had a problem with alcohol, then I think he has every right to be smug!
(I have no idea if he does or not though)

I'm at least 5 or 6 months without alcohol, and 4 without cigarettes, due to the small child in my belly.
I haven't a problem with alcohol though, so I don't feel particularly smug about it!
Like I'd like a drink in the garden in the sun, but I'm not that bothered.
Smoking on the other hand - I'm feckin wonderful to have given up ;)

Right. So it was just a bit of an attention seeking thing, this thread? Check me out, I'm a party animal ?

    Impressive.

My 18 year old sister has a serious drinking problem, that has nearly killed her more times than I can count at this stage.

Selfish little bastard, keeping everything for himself.

It's not that. Last night I was slightly sick and drunk and I was seriously thinking what's the point. We all go out to get loaded and then we're all ****ed later on.
It can get past the point of being enjoyable because you're so out of it.

I wonder if I would enjoy the night more if I wasn't drinking? (at least I would remember more of it anyway!) but when everyone's getting drunk and your sober and lookin out for them, it's a bit of a pain.

OP - you've got a lot to learn if this is your outlook on life.

I'm paraphrasing slightly but you seem to be saying "Aaaugh, I feel crap. I had too much to drink for the last few days, I felt crap for the last few days, I feel crap now. It's not worth it. Oh, wait, it's better than having actual friends. Bring on the drink."

I didn't mean the OP. I meant generally, in these discussions.

    How about other drugs?

Do you feel sorry for people who can't enjoy cocaine or heroin responsibly and decide to stop?

Believe it or not, it is possible to live a perfectly happy life without the need to use pleasure inducing drugs, not that there's anything wrong with using them.

Ah, that epiphony moment experienced during a fourth pint of Heinken. "..this really does taste like dirty dishwater"

    Is that it?

No! I'm remembering more as the day goes on and I was letting way too much slip!

I had fallen flat on my ass the night before and last night night I stupidly brought up the fact that I got hit on by a guy earlier. I don't know why I said it.
Needless to say the ass jokes where coming hard and fast:rolleyes:

Worst thing is, my blind drunk friend told her mom I was gay joking and then her mom told her dad....... It's a bit of a disaster atm.

It was a funny night though.
