I think I'm giving up the drink

I've been two solid days at it and I don't see the point any more. Yeah I really enjoy it but I'm sick of being sick, really.
I wouldnt mind at all but when I drink fairly heavily, I really get ****ed up and can't 'perform' as well as usual which really annoys me. I could be as sick as a dog and be ok with it, but if I can't get it up when I want to, that's when I draw the line.
A few ofmy friends don't drink but they have a bad rep for being boring so I'm reluctant to join them. I could lighten up but I'm a fairly heavy drinker so it's goin to be a change to say the least.

    Wtf to do?:pac:

Drinking is complete waste of time and money, I see people constantly in trouble over it, falling out with friends or family...what is the point really?

Hit the gym if you're stressed and eat healthy, you'll feel and look like a new man.

Best of luck. If your friends don't like it, get new ones.

Last night I was a fool and jumped the bar and stole some random statue! Cleared the jump perfectly. Nobody saw anything and everything was perfect. I was a hero.

Coming back over was another story though. Lets just say my ass took one for the team and I landed with a bang!
    Not my proudest moment tbh:o

I think I should really cool down on the drink for a while at least!

It's not your fault you got arse-raped, regardless of how much you drank.

I had a two week session the last while and was drinking fairly heavily. And was before that also after a breakup. I stopped on Wednesday and the following two days were the worst ever. It was complete alcohol withdrawal. That's when I decided to draw the line, for a while anyway. I still had tremors in my hands yesterday morning. Was out Friday, Saturday and Sunday with no drink and back in to work today feeling all the better for it.

I'm not saying I'll never drink again but fcuk me I am never going through that again! Was a real eye opener!!

    Everything in moderation, including moderation.
I had an an amazing chilled out weekend, a beer in the afternoon while the kids played in the sun, then 2 or 3 more beers with my wife in the garden after the kids went to bed.

The alcohol was an enhancement to the relaxation, as opposed to the raison d'etre, a side dressing rather than the main course.
Moderation goes out the window occasionally, weddings, stag nights, concerts and the like. Nothing wrong with that either, but found it every weekend would not be my cup of tea any more

Not everyone who drinks falls out with family & friends over booze.

It is actually possible to enjoy alcohol without it having any adverse effects on your life. In fact, when enjoyed properly, it can add to the enjoyment of a healthy social life.

And it's also possible to combine moderate use of alcohol with a healthy diet.

There's no need to turn into a gym rat to live a healthy life.

I'd say everyone is feeling it today.
A small bit of sunshine and the whole country goes buck ape on the sauce.
Nest weeekend, if the weather holds will be a killer.

OP sounds like a college student after every night out. Oh I'm dying, I would give up drinking but I'll become a dry ****, Forget about this, goes out and repeat.
Have a friend that doesn't drink and hes up for anything. Saw him after a bad exam with a double vodka in front of him was the only time I saw him drink

    This.

Smug epistles on the merits of not drinking are usually as tedious as constant tales of drinking excess.

I'd start off with vodka redbulls and the drunker I get, the more I move onto double JD and cokes, shots, Jäger bombs and even pints of cider.

I'm really surprised the mix hasn't turned my stomach by now:confused:

Instead of givin it up completely I should prob sort out what I drink instead.
