I snorkelled for the first time over to Innishfree island today--what an awesome morning.Have taken a friends advice and ordered a rubberised camera bag from Overboard for the future http://www.over-board.co.uk/waterproof-technology-cases.html
Saw schools of hundreds of biggish fish, eels and crabs and seals. Before we hit the water I caught couple quick shots of some oystercatchers.Bit skittish so couldn't get too close-only had little Panasonic lumix with me.I do have a Canon 30D for macro work on my meteorites and must get to grips with longer lenses for the birds.

yes Mark--you can still see couple of fledgling downy feathers up at his head. These littluns are spooked by the sparrowhawks, crows and seagulls that frequent the area. This seems to cause the panic flying into the glass though they oftimes survive

From yesterday in the garden. Whats the second one?

    bt1.jpg

    dunno1.jpg

He/she was at the same spot a second earlier with a mouth full of food for youngsters. There's a meadow behind that fence and there's plenty of activity in it.

    Hi,

The second photo is a female Reed Bunting....not many people would have these in their garden!

@WUL, nice shot of the Spotted Flycatcher, they seem to be back in higher numbers this year in their usuall spot at LB,

Wheatear taken at Kilbride Military Camp yesterday during weapons fire, didn't bother him at all, and yes, he got the bug on the branch, I missed the shot
