So I had 36K in coins that i was saving for Ibrahimovic and last night i got to the final of the 6000 coin tournament which i lost. So i got fed up saving and said screw it and splurged it all on packs. First 3 packs i get nothing higher then a 78 player. At this stage i'm thinking oh what a great idea it was wasting all these coins on packs. :rolleyes:

So I decide to go for a 15k jumbo pack to waste my remaining coins. I glance though the list and what do i see but an IF Miccoli.

*cue scene of jubilation*

So the question is what do I do now?

I could keep him, or sell him for 80k-90k go buy the Ibra i had intended and still have 30k left to try my luck with some more packs. Am i crazy to want Ibra this much, is he even that good in UT?

Played against a lad with a full bronze team of randoms with a normal Messi up front the 94 version,must have been some luck if he got it in a pack.
Still beat him cos his chem was dirt

Made up a Championship/Prem team which I really enjoy playing with,got Beckford for fairly cheap,Chap has 92 pace!

I am going to attempt to start trading.

I want to get a positive trade profit anyway. Not something I currently know much about... But I bought a 750 coins bronze pack anyway and have already made 950 from selling 4 cards, so I guess that's a start. :P

It's fairly easy though I'd recommend avoiding Gold players.

Players in general are a bit of a waste, takes a lot of effort to scroll through and the prices can change so quickly(I bought a Gibson for 1k which I'm struggling to sell for 2k even though he was going for 3k+ easy a few weeks ago).
Though you can make 500-1000 off silver players easily enough(or at least could till I concentrated on formations) .

The easiest selling players I encountered were Bronze MLS players.
I was buying them for 150-200 and selling them off again for 600-800.

I'd strongly recommend trading either contracts(though the reward isn't big you can sell them quickly) or some other form of consumables.

I sell 4-3-1-2(pay max 1200) for 2000-2200
4-3-2-1(pay max 2000) for 3300-3500
And if I see a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 I'll bid around the 3200 mark to resell for 4300-4500.
The prices remain constant and I WILL clear them all unlike some players that can take 20+ re-listings.

Advantage for me is I'm usually up at ridicules hours, though in saying that I've often only won 2/3/4 out of 25+ bids in the early hours.
I think I'll have to up my bids a bit more so I can get through them quicker(cut my profit down to make sure I win the bids) but from doing this I now always have a constant stream of 40k+ as I either have a full trade pile to sell or I have the coins.

I'd never recommend using ALL your coins to buy players, should always keep at least 20k to turn over.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take a look at the formation modifiers when I get some more coins. I'm fairly new to Ultimate Team (less than 20 matches) and I only have around 3,000 coins at the moment.

My trade profit was -7,900 when I made my original post and it's now -6,512 so progress is being made at least.

I'm sure I'll get it into a profit soon enough. I actually really enjoy trading too being honest!

I normally buy items to fill my trade pile before I go to bed, usually around 11pm - 12 am. Then put them up for 6 hours and when I wake up the next morning nearly everything's sold. Very handy

Ya thats why I started doing it.

I enjoy being on the app and looking.

I'll only buy a player now when I get to 50k+
I can rule out any 100k+ buys this year as I only really started playing in Feb or so.
You need to hit the ground running early to get those top end players.
Quicker you can build a stack easier it will be to outbid players.

Being honest though my Trade Profit is -276,000.... BUT I've a lot of different teams.
Nearly 4 silver, 3 Gold and bits and pieces of others that I've yet to finish(Bundesliga)
If I was playing from Sept though it would be positive as I'm hitting the point where I don't need many players to finish my squads so all trading profit can be kept.

I try to make my stuff come off after 1pm.
So I start putting them up for 12hours after 12am.
With players though you can lob them all up fairly quickly.
But with repeating formations you need to spread them out a bit more which makes it a tiny bit more hassle.

I'd be lucky to sell 2/3 at a time. But I've found the mark where I can shift them quick while still making 1k-1.5k per card.

Amazing how much more demand there is for the 4-3-1-2s than the 4-3-2-1s.
I sell the latter EASY for the BIN of 3,500 whereas the former will more often go for the min bid of 2000.
Coupling that with the fact that the 4-3-1-2s sell up to 1500 at 4-5am there just isn't as much profit to be had for them.
My bids of 2k for the 4-3-2-1s come in at a MUCH higher rate and theres much more profit.

I was -80K trading (I never bothered to try buy stuff just to make a profit).

I bought a few players for a reasonable price thinking I'd use them, I decided to stick them back up to see if I could make a few coins. I'm back down to -37K trading now. Worst case scenario, I would have been stuck with the players who were people I wanted anyway. Seems like a decent strategy, because any profit is a bonus then, no real risk.

Managed to win that "Best Around" tournament. The formation change worked a treat.

Wondering whether to save up and buy Rooney, or to build a Serie A side around Diego Forlan. Krasic is the only choice at RM though, and I think he only has 3 star skill moves and can't do that Ronaldo chop?

Finally starting buying and selling properly, starting to build a nice amount of coins.

Got rid of my English team, gonna make another with a 4-3-3 instead, love my Italian side, and my Russian side is great crack, altogether, my cbs are awful in the air. Got Samba and Alves(i think). Conceded ab out 3 headers from Agbonlahor last night.

I think forlan is great in the game. Just playing him in the CF position in a 4-4-1-1 and anything within 25 yards of the goal and he will knock it in. He has a wicked long range shot. Not great pace but the long range shot is fantastic in my eyes.

I wouldn't use him as a striker, because I think his 74 pace and lack of strength would mean he'd get caught & outmuscled easily by David 'bastarding' Luiz every time.

I've heard he has an unbelievable long shot, and he has a 5 star weak foot, so both feet are equally lethal. Planning to use him as a CAM, where his lack of pace won't hinder him, and he'll get in a position to fire off shots without having to outpace or outmuscle the defenders.

Basically, I just think he's class in real life and I want to use him in the game.

His long shot is awesome. Anything 25 yards out and he is brilliant. Definitely the Attacking Midfielder or sitting just infront of the midfield 4 in a 4-4-1-1 playing off a striker. Maybe just upgrade his pace every once in awhile

Happy Hour is full of such hope but by the end of it your left with no coins and not a single player of any use! Those player packs are such a waste, none of the players you get have any resale value at all.

Yeah it's too much since you got SIF Micolli only 3 days ago

He's already around 20k, that's less than the price of a player premium pack. Should have just bought him instead lol

Im done with Ultimate Teams so im nearly finished selling off my entire squad from saving them all for the 85 million achievement. So i was abit bored and i aint bought a pack in awhile so i said feck it and bought one.

Ugh Hummels... got him already. Turned out it was the Blue 89 rated Hummels that popped up!

Im totally done with UT so im giving my nephew all my coins. Hopefully Hummels will bring him another 100k + ontop of the 300k coins i have for him.

Yeah I know that was incredibly lucky but i thought i'd get something decent from those player packs. I'm not even talking about an IF player, simply something other then 4 Johan Djourou would have been easier to take.

Gad dam it, i didn't realise he was that price, i simply assumed he'd be crazy expensive like the rest.
