Not happy that Martinez is being interviewed, massive gamble and one the club can't afford to make. Although, they will look like geniuses if he gets the job and is a success

Come back to me in 9 months and tell me giving KK one more year was a bad decision.

I like Martinez, i like Rogers.......as men and managers.

Is this the type of ambition you expected LFC to have?.

Top class stuff, let the good times roll.

    **** OFF FSG

Rogers and Martinez? **** off. We're ****ed now. No time afforded, owners and pending manager can get the **** out of this club. Arghh

The last few weeks ive had 'feelins' in my 'waters' that these boys dont have a clue what they are at.

Its like absolute panic stations within the club, several positions stand unoccupied and not a man on this earth can tell me who these lads are getting advice off.

For your sake, Martinez' sake and this forum's sake, don't start proclaiming it's the end of the world or whatever if Martinez is appointed, until he is actially shown up.

    Suggestion noted and disregarded.

Hopefully its just one of many interviews that are gonna happen with a few managers.......................hopefully.

On Martinez, does anyone know his contract situation at Wigan?

I don't know where you belong, but my record at calling things in advance around Liverpool managerial changes during the past couple of years is much better than yours. So back in your box yeah?

I think FSG will be disappointed that Dave Whelan has spoken to the media about Roberto Martinez. Hopefully they will interview a few possible managers. Martinez is a good manager but will be a big step up for him.

This is deeply concerning. Honeymoon period definitely over now.

This screams of FSG wanting a coach, not necessarily a yes man but someone who knows their place.

A top class DOF will no doubt follow and be responsible for delivering players to Martinez to work with.

They got him on a 3 year deal in 2009, he then signed a one year contract extension last Summer after interest from Villa.

    So one year to run.

Seems understandable to me. If getting Martinez in as manager is a measure of FSG's ambition people have every right to be pissed. He's done nothing in football management. Crazy if it's true.

    Neither did Pep Guardiola...

For the record, there's a man at Norwich id take in a heartbeat over Martinez or Rogers.

Also, for the record, Ian Ayre should not have his current job.

Any Wigan players worth bringing with him?

Found his interview earlier very unimpressive tbh.

    Calm Down lads.

When Hodgson got the job there were 5 or 6 candidates. I'm fully expecting a few more names to given serious consideration.

As for who's advising FSG - David Dein and Brian Barwick are the only names I'm aware of in recent times.

    Next week:

    Official Liverpool F.C Club Statement

Following an extensive and exhaustive search in which a number of excellent and experienced candidates were formally interviewed, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Rafael Benitez as Liverpool manager.

Despite some initial reservations regarding the re-appointing of another club legend, it became clear to us during the interview process that Rafa was a cool dude who knew his shit, had great facial hair, a collection of sharp suits and a glowing tan (unlike Martin O'Neill - P.S **** off Martin).

Blah blah blah list of honours Rafa has won. Blah blah blah well liked in the city.
Something about his wife and kids.

We look forward to working with Rafa and forging a positive working relationship that will allow Liverpool Football Club to once again prosper.

    P.P.S, lol Martin, **** off.

    Yours,
    Henry+Linda, xo

    McCarthy if he was cheap.

Diame is on a free and could be better cover for Lucas than Spearing.

As Wigan manager, Martinez has won 34 of 127 games. I'd love to know what FSG are smoking.

    Paul Tomkins ‏@paul_tomkins

As far as I'm aware the Director of Football is already identified and presumably involved in interview process. #LFC

The ineterviews won't take place til next week I'd say.
What are the chances of a new DOF sitiing in on the interviews by then?
    Txiki Begiristain perhaps?
