Sending my wheels off to Lepsons in Kent tomorrow, exciting stuff!
How come your not using a Irish wheel repair centre? Wont the courier be costly?

    fair enough!

Just sent some wheels (gti 18"monza diamond cut) to collins engineering in Bray. I heard some mixed reviews about them but they did my bro's recently (same wheels), very impressed with the finish (and I'm picky!) , like new.

Amateur question but if you don't ask you'll never know:

If you send your wheels off to be re-furbed will they be returned sans wobblies? I.e. if you have a slight buckle in your wheel do they sort this out too?

Depends on what you ask for/ what kind of refurbishment.

    it's all reflected in price.

Basically because Lepsons are the best in the UK & Ireland, no question. I need them diamond cut too, and whilst Collins do offer this service, i'd rather Lepsons do it as i've seen my wheels refurbed by them and they look better than new.
M-Parallels are very difficult to get right. I can also get them shipped there and back for €96. Which works out the same.

Cheers LM. I'm on 18's with a 245/45/18 front and I've a shimmy at the 55mph mark (which is normal speed to experience shimmy with imbalance). Recently got part worns fitted but the shimmy is still there after balancing. Not unusual for 7er's with big rims / small tyres.

How much a corner for the refurb including shipping and does this include sorting out any buckles?

They're doing them for £69 ex VAT a corner. That's removal of tyre, complete refurb of rim, respray of whole wheel with diamond cutting of face and lip, lacquer, new valves, tyre reinstall and balanced.

I can ship to UK for €12 ex VAT per wheel.

Prices are going up from June so get in quick. Oh and not sure about buckles, i'd say your problem is discs and/or suspension components.

I got a quote from wheel wizards before to get my wheels polished. They said they would not be re laquered because of a stone chipped the surface then water would get it and make it flake. Which is the right or wrong thing to do as that place in Bray insisted on this step when i rang for quotes.
