I actually really liked this weeks episode.
The case was good and I thought the English guys character was a nice addition.

Beckett and Lanie's conversation was good as we don't normally get any in depth talks with Beckett, bar those with Castle, and it definitely sets it up for putting her in the position to express her feelings to him.
I like that they still have Castle sticking to his guns for now. I mean he is being a bit childish, but that's Castle's character. It also brought back some of his humour, the hotel infiltration plan was classic. The last while he'd been more serious.

Overall I think it was a well written episode, and probably one of my favourites from the season so far. Roll on next week

I liked the episode but was frustrated by it. So worried it will jump the shark into Bones territory.

Really enjoyed this weeks episode. It was just a great, fun episode.
Adam Baldwin was really good as Slaughter I thought, his character was well written. It was funny seeing the role reversal with him bossing around Nathan :D
The bit where he's talking about Alexis being barely legal and Castle reacting was great.
And when they're back in the precinct
after Castle thinks Slaughter killed the contact
    good laughs there.

Also, I can't be the only one thinking that Castle playing with the doll and monster toys is a homage to Wash?

Hopefully this episode means something will happen now
with Beckett and Castle since they both seemed to have realisations that they shouldn't give up.

    Only disappointing part was
the killer being Glitch's dad. It just didn't fit right for me. I actually thought they were gonna have it being Slaughter.

Edit: What's the story for spoilers? I just tagged stuff here in case, but I assume once the Ep has aired there's no need for them?

Yeah, I enjoyed this episode. Adam Baldwin is always good for a few laughs.

Who was the other woman at the morgue? She was quite nice! ;)

Good shout. That seems obvious now. Actually, I was surprised there were not more Firefly references.

The thread title should probably be amended to say US pace. Then spoilers would be alright.

Well, Castle was wearing a brown coat. Also, if you want to be obtuse, there was a fight in a bar.

I thought it was good but not great. Baldwin was basically playing the same character as in Firefly.

I enjoyed the last episode. The case itself was secondary to teh characters and for once I didnt really care because the to and fro was so much fun. Castle getting blackmailed by Ryan and Espisito, the reaction back in the precinct when the undercover guy came in and all of Castle vs Slaughter interaction.

Loved the little refs (hell yes on the dolls = wash). The show was fun! Something it hasnt been for a while.

    Can't believe there's only 2 episodes left :'(

    This.

All the jokes and laughs came so easily this episode. The last one was good as well actually. Some of the earlier ones felt a bit forced. I actually put it down to the new characters spicing up the last two. Creates a bit more of a dynamic while things were immobile with Beckett and Castle.

Yeah, only 2 episodes left, and just when it's getting back on form. I really hope it ends well.

    WARNING! MAJOR FINALE SPOILERS
So as you know Michael Ausiello is currently running a blind item about a sensational hook up between a will they/won't duo on one of the big network shows. I think from the get go most peoples money was on either Castle/Beckett or Damon/Elena. Well Ausiello just did a twitter Q&A, and when asked if both the characters were human he replied YES! Then he favourited a tweet asking if it was Castle & Beckett. Oh sweet Jesus, the finale is going to kill me.

According to Wikipedia, episode 22 is on tonight. Not sure why it skipped a week TBH.

There was no new episode last week. One tonight and the finale next week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

Promo for the finale is out. Oh. My. God. So many emotions. Not gonna post it cuz it's a little spoiler heavy, and I'm actually regretting watching it now, but soooooo good. So, so good.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

"Undead again" was hysterical. I haven't laughed this hard at a Castle episode in such a long time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,345 ✭✭✭Somnus

Yep, Undead Again was a really class episode. Loads of laughs.

Kinda debating whether to watch the promo for the finale... I want to, but at the same time don't wanna spoil it for myself. But at least your reaction DeWitt gives me the impression it should be good!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

I was reacting to the Canadian promo there. And dang, even though I swore I wouldn't watch the US promo I just did, and it's 10 x more awesome/spoilery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,721 ✭✭✭Otacon

Good episode last night. As has been said, there were a lot of laughs. However, the drug and the way they got the confession were weak.

Still, I like the position Castle and Beckett's relationship is now in. Should be a good finale.

Out on Monday as far as I know.

I haven't read that link bpb101 posted. I watched the promo and it's spoiler ridden enough!!
Will save the rest for the actual episode. It's feature length right? I thought I heard that a while back, so that's pretty awesome

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,283 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I stopped watching promos for all series as they usually contain spoilers. And hate it when reviews refer to those promos.

But as for this week's episode, they take their laser tag seriously with Alexis repelling from the ceiling

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,827 ✭✭✭bpb101

the link i posted is only the promo.
Didn't hear anything about feature length . Do you mean a hour and a half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Skinfull

Feature length castle finale? I'm in! WOO!

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have said that. I looked the ep up on IMDB and it only says the normal length.

I could have sworn reading it was gonna be a double length one a while back. I must have been wrong though.

Sorry for getting peoples hopes up!!

It may not have been perfect, but it was a good end to the season. Spoilers below

Beckett's whole revelation as she was about to fall was good. I was expecting her to get the guy, it was a nice development that she decides to let it go and live instead.
I also really liked the fallout from keeping it secret. I'm glad it wasn't a simple forgive and forget by Gates. Esposito is not happy with Ryan. That will make it interesting to see what happens in the next series, if it gets picked up.

My main gripe with it was how they found the killer. Super secret and untraceable for most of the series, but then he doesn't think to check for cameras in the church or about the GPS in the rental car. Bit of a glaring oversight in my opinion.

Still, it will definitely be cool to see where it goes in the next series now that Castle and Beckett are together. The twist that the bad guys are gonna be after her again was unexpected. I thought they were gonna just leave that part of the story alone from now on.

Beckett: PI has to happen next season.

Think of how much fun it would be for Castle to play the old Gum Shoe Hard Boiled Pi

And Ryan will be promoted to Beckett's position, but they'll team up for EVERY case.

    Oh I hope that happens!

Haha, that would be class. Don't think it'll happen though. Most likely Beckett will realise that even if she ignores her mothers case, she lives for putting scumbags in jail :P She'll return to the force I'm sure. But don't get me wrong, your suggestion would be a great change!

    Well ...
A tense episode to say the lease!

I don't know where to begin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Skinfull

Really enjoyed the ep. Shoddy casework aside, the character interactions were great and I dont just mean the obvious. Espisito and Ryan, taking different routes and not just following each other round like lap dogs.

But Beckett and Castle... at the end... how he didn't just take her back, because she was kissing him! I liked how he pushed her away (twice) and wanted to know what happened. Also the up close shot of Castle just before he kisses her, the lightning and the eyes! LOL Brillaint.

One thing... the shooter... Helo! When he was being punched, the way he just kinda kept looking at her, without defending himself... I always knew he was a Cylon!

I really liked where they were kissing towards the end and it showed the bullet mark

What I think we will see next season is smiths (the grey hair guy that has that package ) body turn up
I was generally supprised to see the last scene after b & c kissing

I can't wait to see how the plot tickens

    Ryan and Espisito
I liked how they called each other by their name to show they were talking to each others as friends rather than co- workers

Can't wait to see what happens
Unlike last season we don't know what will happen
Last year we knew she would live

Agree with this completely. Made a nice change. And I also liked how it was Ryan that saved her. Castle didn't cave and take his calls. That would have been prett cliche. So it was nice to see that Ryan had decided to get backup himself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Skinfull

Yeah. That was a HUGE development for Ryan. He's not just a sidekick, he actually stood alone in this episode. Well done. Cant wait to see MOAR!!!

Nathan as Rick was great in the scene when he tells Beckett he loves her and if she cared at all for him she would stop and as a huge Caskett shipper loved the ending :)

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 6,672 Mod ✭✭✭✭pinkypinky

    That was awesome!

It was very noticeable that everyone was using first names in the that episode. Also, totally did not expect that scene after THE SCENE. Really liked how he wasn't just all over her immediately. Take that Bones. That's how you do it. On camera!:D

I don't know what it was, but I didn't think that scene had the level of emotional weight I was expecting. The season 3 finale was way more powerful than this one. When Castle is in the apartment and trying to convince her to stop looking (much like in this finale) it just seemed more sincere or something.

Could just be that I wacthed all the othe series in a row, and this is the first one where I was waiting between episodes. That damages the flow a bit. I
I'll have to rewatch them all together now that it's finished.

+1 that's the only thing I could think of watching that scene... Fúcking Helo, always suspected he was one of the final five!
