I'm chuffed with 30lbs in 17 weeks :) I look great, I feel great, there's a guy who thinks I look hot... all is good with the world!

I managed to do (not quite deep enough yet) proper form kneeling push ups on Sunday & I am giddy with delight :) 2 months ago wall pushups made me huff & puff!

Paleo products... Cr@p free stock, dry rubs, bulk order spices, coconut Aminos (obviously)

I had to do a Charlie's Angles leg out in the air to stop a gate swinging into a clients wheelchair today. I had a "Holy Drew Barrymore is the same age as me" moment ;)

I second the coconut aminos point. Jerky would be nice, like those paleo kits you hear about on the American websites. Junk-free stock cubes as well.

I took some measurements when I started with EPLF but I lost them :-( I know what my waist was I can check that ;)

Sounds great, and everything takes nicer when someone else cooks for you :)

And we're having this again http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com/2009/06/09/the-best-chicken-you-will-ever-eat-ever/

Had it last night and loved it. The children asked if they could try a bit of mine (they had eaten earlier) and they really liked it and asked if they could have it today! Delighted as my daughter in particular is a very fussy eater-can't believe she liked it considering all the spices on it, but she really did :)

That's cool Sarah, It was too "spicy" for mine, sigh, but I loved it! Did you make the oil too?

I'm not having the sprouts but I'm looking forward to my post W30 treat.

DCD... what are you adding back in, if anything? Was there anything that you missed less/more than you thought?

I must admit that my feelings about diet coke are unchanged. It's not a craving, it's just a "I'd like a diet coke" and it hasn't gone away.

Plan is to continue as I am, I will allow myself occasional wine, good cheese, dark chocolate, but not on a weekly or daily basis. I think what I want to do is stay W30 90-99% of the time and not re-introduce anything as part of my regular diet.
I missed cheese as an ingredient I must say...

I did buy 2 bars of Lindt in Dunnes yesterday as the 30% offer ended today, a sea salt and an 85%, but they remain unopened :)
I'll have a couple (+ ;)) glasses of wine at the launch party I'm going to on Thursday, and maybe even a cocktail sausage!

The " MoFo Meatloaf " was a great success. I made a tasty tomato sauce to go with.

    That looks fab :)

My sweet & spicy apricot glazed pork chops was yummy :)

I'm definitely giving that meatloaf a lash next week! The family picked up the taste for it when we were on holiday in the US in the early 80s (suddenly feel very old!). But as food became more "convenient", we weren't cooking meals from scratch that much any more (except for your typical meat/two veg combo), so I haven't had meatloaf in absolute years. Can't wait :pac:

Those chops look good too. Love the combo of apricot with pork. In fact, I want to look up a paleo friendly apricot stuffing to put in a pork steak for the weekend.

    Thanks for more inspiration ladies!

I cut it in to slices at each rasher. Got 9 slices, there's just enough left for dinner tomorrow if I only have 1 slice. I had 2 tonight, mostly because I forgot to go to shop to buy veg!

Yep, I made the dipping sauce too. Delish! Going to use the rest of it over my lunch salad tomorrow.

Did your kids eat the meatloaf? Always great when you find a winner with everyone.

Yes they did :) ( year old had a full slice & 5 yr old half a slice.
Wouldn't eat the tomato sauce unfortuntely...I gave them half a bread roll too (just cos I had to use them up)...

The pork chops from Everyday Paleo were really good. My husband sauteed a bunch of spinach with onions and garlic to go with it. It was yum, especially after my second kickboxing class. Sore today!

Like the sound of the spinach with onions and garlic Sarahfancy. I have a big bag of spinach so will try that with it for a change.

Dcd-great the kids ate the meatloaf too!

I usually put some red pesto in my lamb meatballs but obviously with doing the Whole30 I didn't want any of the pestos that include cheese. Just thought you guys might be interested in an absolutely delicious one I found which doesn't have any of the usual Grana Padano or whatever added. It's The Happy Pear Sundried Tomato Pesto (made in Greystones)

Ingredients list; sundried tomatoes, olive oil, sprouted almonds, basil, fresh garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt, cayenne pepper

(I wasn't sure what exactly sprouted almonds were so a quick google tells me they are almonds that have been soaked in water to make them softer)

It's fab mixed into the lamb mince mixture before shaping the meatballs. I also add garlic, oregano, a softened onion and an egg.

Mine is in the oven now :)

I took my 1st of the month photos yesterday (I was working in the first of the month) and I can see the difference between Feb 1st & yesterday :) its lovely to see.

I do a once a month underwear shoot to see changes, it's great to see. I am looking fwd to seeing what changes a month of eplf will bring physically.

Dinner tonight is sweet potato, caramelised onion and sausage hash with fried egg. And then I'm going out! And having a drink! I will probably fall over after one glass :D

Listening to Melissa & Dallas of whole9 on primal diet, modern health podcast while I cook.

It was fab. The kids loved it. It's tomorrow dinner too.

I can't wait to see the impact heavy lifting has on my knicker shots ;)

Great, it is a keeper for sure and I was relieved you couldn't taste the almond meal in it.

What mustard did you use? I just have a standard Dijon but is like to try something different next time. I was never a mustard fan but I can see it has it's uses :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,934 ✭✭✭Dotcomdolly

Yeah I used Maille Dijon (and used my egg to rinse out the jar , how frugal!).
Both varities of Frenchs american mustard are on special in Dunnes and have clean ingredinets. I had some of the smooth & spicy one with my hash yesterday & it was very good.

Finally got to the end of this thread! I'm hugely interested in this and am definitely changing my habits. Has anyone read Jillian Michaels Mastering Metabolism? It's a great read and her 'diet' in it is basically the paleo diet except she advises to eat oats and grains. An interesting read nonetheless I was amazed at all the additives in our food, it's a huge eye opener.

Also to add is anyone growing their own from organic seed?
