Krul has of course made mistakes. You just don't see them because his profile is not as high as De Gea's and also because you don't watch every single minute of Newcastle's games like yo do with Manchester United.

That's like going into any thread about worst signings and flops of the year type of threads, and without fail the OP or within first 3 posts a United player will be on list every time.

    EVENFLOW

At this moment in time Krul is a better Keeper than De Gea, Im sure in the long term De Gea will eventually be better but Krul has made Zero mistakes all season ,in fact he's been the best keeper in the league making saves he's had no right to

Seems like a good place to leave this
    retarded comment

ABU till I die. Lol I haven't heard that from someone since I was in Primary School.

How about you head back to the Liverpool thread. There's a massive "battle for somewhere between 7th and 9th" thread that requires your input.

The 100m refrain will be the tabloid line from now until the window closes.

I think Were Un ited to spend £30-40m it would be more than adequate. United as blatter and others pointed out have a very good squad that is more in need of trimming as anything else.

Ideally Owen and Berbatov would be shipped out, Kuszczak I presume will be sold too. The big deal I'd be happiest with would be holding on to Pogba.

Personally despite all the fantasy stuff I'd be happy if United signed players with a lower profile that they are assoicated with in the transfer rumours. One caveat on this would be that at least one centre midfielder HAS to be established world class. Every other position I'd live with relative unknowns. United has done well making big names out of unknowns irrespective of thier transfer fee.

Off the top of my head in recent seasons

    Vidic
    Evra
    Smalling
    Hernandez
    Nani

I understand your point but Evra was a Champions League finalist and regarded as a top left back when he signed. Vidic was well established, he was part of a Serbian team that only conceded 1 goal during the 2006 world cup qualification and he was the most expensive defender in Russia and United were chasing him for 2 or 3 years and he was be chased by alot of teams. They were great value for money and it was United who made world stars out of them but they were far from unknowns.

ok, you've all had your say, but john "bunch of numbers" has been banned since 1am.

    so stop quoting him.

and some wonder why some mods delete stuff when it's been actioned

you don't all have to get your punches in on him because, guess what, it destroys the thread.

i wish people would learn to just report and not rise to it. he'd have been banned even if so many of you didn't respond to him.

I had a dream last night that Fergie was in my kitchen and I told him to look at the Bundesliga for bargains and quality players. I started to name a few players and when I got to Gotze he stopped and told me he had already got the deal done. As you can imagine I was overjoyed until I woke up.

I knew when I posted that people would highlight this stuff. They still were not the de rigeur players that get linked with every team in Europe either. Both came from lesser leagues and neither would have been the first names you'd have mentioned in either national team. Players like Stankovic or Milosovic would have been the star men. France take your pick from ten or fifteen. Granted as you say the Serbian defensive unit was seriously good but was Vidic necessarily the main reason or just another really good cog in an exceptional machine? I think his reputation, like Evra's (up until recently), as a world class player was made at United.

After he confirmed the deal with Gotze, not gonna lie, it became intense.

I love posting this when people make retarded comments about their hatred for United.

It makes their tears feel sweeter when the club invariably bounces back stronger than before from every setback.

Aye, and ye will bounce back and perhaps be title contender's next season, but Utd need to buy buy buy players!

    You'd swear we weren't this year?

I hate to say it yet again, but I have quite a bit of faith in Newcastle. Can't wait till Sunday.

Vidic and Evra were both linked with alot of top teams and since you asked, yes Vidic was the star of that S&M team and Evra was superb in Monacos Champions League run, him and Rothen were one of the most exciting left sided partnerships in the world. And the last part is exactly what I said, I just argued the point they were far from unknown when Utd signed them.

Utd were very much title contender's this year. In fact, Utd were champions, clear with 8 points at one stage if I remember right, and then threw it away with games against Wigan and Everton.

Have as much faith as you want, but no way are City going to throw away the title now that they have been handed it back. Would Utd?

Its easy to say that, but don't forget we had to get back into it as well. City were ahead by, I think it was 5(or was it more??) points, earlier this season, and everyone said it was theirs. They threw it away, then we got back in, and threw it away.

We're level on points, they have 1 fairly tough fixture left, we have none to be honest.

Would have assumed Utd would have beat Wigan and we all know how that turned out. It isn't safe to say there are easy games. Sure, Sunderland and Swansea have nothing at stake, they aren't up for relegation and have no European places to play for, but they will still do their best.

I think at one point City were ahead by 10 points or more?

Very decent chance of Newcastle thinking taking something from City. Anyone who thinks otherwise just isn't thinking logically.

Sure City are favorites but they have struggled badly away from home in 2012 and that's unlikely to change just because 'they won't throw it away again'. Football rarely works like that. There was huge incentive for them to beat Swansea, Stoke and Arsenal away as well but they just couldn't get the job done.

City have L5 D4 on the road
    Newcastle L2 D5 at home.

    Lump on the draw, methinks!

Newcastle lost 3-1 to City last time out. There's not much outside logic to suggest that City, within touching distance of their first League title since 680 AD, will let people let Cisse and Co. do their thang. They bossed the game against Utd the other night for eerily long periods of the game.

Let me ask serious Utd fans this: If Utd weren't in the position that they needed someone like Newcastle to beat City in order to have a chance for the title, would you still be so confident of Newcastle beating them?

They don't need Newcastle to win, a draw is mighty fine. Such a point changes the timbre of your post.

Yes, they've been brilliant this season. And thats why I have confidence in them. Just beat Chelsea last night, beat us when we went up there. Best form in the league at the moment as well.

That was at home, they are a different animal at home.
Their away record this season isn't all that intimidating tbh.
To completely write off Newcastles hopes of getting anything from the game is stupid imo.
They are bang in form, apart from a freakish first half against Wigan they've been ripping it up in the league of late.

I would have said that United had the best form in the league right now, despite being beaten by City...but that's just semantics. Chelsea are all over the place this season though, have been poor I thought, the only redeemable point for them is the Champions League.

That's not to argue that Newcastle are only beating crap, out of form teams. I'd say it is going to be some match on Sunday, both teams going for it. Newcastle for a Champions League spot, City for a possible title. But, with the quality that City can call upon, I just really don't see it.

Tiote and Cabaye will not let City play like Park and Giggs did. In Cissé they have the best striker in the league at the moment. In Ben Arfa they have one of the best wingers in the league.

Their defence is playing very well as well. 5 clean sheets in the last 6 games.

Playing at home with the chance of Champions League football? I'd be confident that they will play well. Maybe not well enough to get anything from the game, but we can always hope. I can't wait for the game.

They have brilliant home form, this is true. Back in 2011, only defeats to Chelsea and West Brom afair. Have they lost at home in 2012?

Just a draw with Sunderland. I think that's the only game they dropped points in.

Park was not good at all in that game but probably shouldn't have been played or played the way he was. Ye missed Fletcher for that game too.
