Reckon I'll be supporting Chelsea after that game a few years ago where they were denied 4 penos. They'll be seriously up for it.
So if Chelsea win the champions league and finish 5th, spurs finish 4th, spurs lose out on a champions league place? That would be funny

I'd love it. I'd savour the UCL victory and spend the next few minutes trolling Spurs fans before getting banned. :p

Really good balanced article on the importance of the referee tonight and also how crappy their lives can become when they make mistakes. Which is really terrible and does make you respect their bravery in refereeing these games.

Over 180 minutes it was an injustice?

    Absolutely, yes it was.

    Yes, "battle":p

Hey, the Anglo-Zanzibar War was also a battle.

Granted, it only lasted 45 minutes, but still :D

I can see a draw tonight, which will give Chelsea and the English press all the hope (and hype) they want.
Only for Chelsea to be humiliated in Camp Nou :)

They forgot Urs Meier who also had to retire for disallowing an england goal. I think The Sun printed his address and phone number after that to encourage abuse.
The guy who sent off rooney for stamping in some portuguese players balls also got plenty of bad press in england.
And they they were 2 perfectly correct decisions from a ref!

    http://www.itv.com/sport/football/championsleague/news/ovrebo-admits-errors-94185/
Tom Henning Ovrebo, referee for Chelsea's 2009 Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, has admitted his mistakes cost Chelsea a place in the final and revealed he still receives death threats.
The Norwegian official, who has retired from the international game, turned down four penalty claims during the second-leg tie at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea lost on away goals courtesy of Andres Iniesta's injury-time strike.
Ovrebo told the Times: "I still get a few death threats but they go straight into the garbage box."
He continued: "I don't take them seriously, although sometimes I wonder about the people who send them.
"Just yesterday I got an email from a Chelsea fan saying he wanted to kill me and my family."
Of his performance in the semi-final three years ago, he added: "Everyone who knows the laws of the game knows I should have done things differently, but that's the life of a referee."

The Sun? Says it all really. Absolute rag.

The same paper we're lambasting Ronaldo for winking towards the sideline after Rooney had stood on Carvalho, brandishing him " The Winker "

I reckon a 2-0 or 3-1 victory for Chelsea. Not necessarily a great lover of Chelsea, quite the opposite in fact, but I reckon they'll be raring to go after the shenanigans that went on the last time the two met. I'd also like to see Barça lose because of their overrated style of play, it's nice to see Barça apologists get hot under the collar.

Really can't wait for this match, still confident Chelsea can take Barca!

Can Barcelona keep the ball on that pitch which is small to the degree they would like? You know it will be intense, small pitch. That for me will decide the outcome of this game.

Chelsea cant lose tonight or the tie whatever the result as we are expected to lose.
I reckon reaching the semi's was the target set by Chelsea, certainly the quarters

    Who expects Chelsea to lose?
The target is surely to win?

I think the vast majority of non Chelsea fans expect them to lose, Chelsea fans will say they expected them to lose to save face, in the off chance they get a result they will claim they knew they could do it.

True, true! But I would say (And other forums bear this out) that most Chelsea fans are realistic enough to think they will lose the tie to Barca, as opposed to the Napoli one which quite a few expected us to win, even from behind. Its not a ready made excuse, its just realistic thinking

Delighted if wrong of course and then I will delete all these "negative" posts! ;)

Yeah I really should have put most there. Not something that is exclusive to Chelsea fans either.

Jokes my man. The chances of us beating 2 of the best 3 teams in Europe to win the UCL is far fetched. We've a better chance of beating ye to 4th out right then of winning the UCL IMO.

Chelsea +1 on PP is 15/8
    Chelsea -1 on PP is 11/1 :o

    worth a sneaky punt?

Don't have the specs but Camp Nou's pitch is only marginally bigger. It's actually the positioning of the cameras at the respective stadia that make the bridge's pitch look significantly smaller when in actual fact it is only marginally so. Still has some bearing though because Barca thrive on any extra bit of space they can get but not near as significant as one might think looking on from tv. :)

Fancy tonight to be very close and wouldnt be surprised to see Chelsea win by something like 2-1. Barca have been relatively poor away from home but have been awesome at home. I would definitely stay away from odds of 3-4 about a Barca win. Chelsea really have nothing to lose so i expect them to attack Barca.

Do you honestly think that a team, who can probably pass the ball between 3-4 players in a 5x5 area will be limited by a smaller pitch ?
