The Battle of the Bridge? Do Barcelona get to keep it if they win?

No, that would obviously be the battle for the bridge.

Messi with a dubious penalty after Busquets dives from a perfect Torres challenge. Perfect.

There is no Bridge near the ground these days, or am I wrong?

Barcelona over the two legs without much bother. I'll say 2-2 tomorrow and 5-1 to Barcelona in the second leg.

5-1 , go away out of that , your dreaming !

I expect a score draw tomorrow night , I hope for a 2-0 for Chelsea

I expect barca to beat us at the Camp Nou by a goal or 2 as we try to chase away goals after the score draw in the first leg .

Im looking forward to it and I know this will prob come back to haunt me but I feel a bit better that Cahill will be manning the back line with JT so I wont have to have my heart in my mouth every time Luiz either tried to play it from the back or put a challenge in , dont get me wrong I think he has come on loads the last few months but still think he is a bit raw and needs to calm it down a Tad .

All this said I think if Raul Meireles plays we will loose, we simply can not afford to be giving the ball away stupidly and Barca will punish us badly if we do.

So who will play? Lampard and Mikel?

It's good to see that Barca fans think getting non-existent penalties and scoring from them is in the good name of the game.

So who will play? Lampard and Mikel?

I would be happier alrite with the lineup from Sunday ,

Essien has lost his pace completely and is stuffed IMO,

Mikel and Lamps would do nicely , the later having upped his game 10 fold since the departure of AVB , he does not have the pace but has a great range of passing and is still decent enough from the set pieces ,

I would like to see Kalou dropped and either Danny or Nando on in his place , Kalou again being very wasteful with the ball which you can not afford to be against Barca.

I would love if Oriel Romeu was available for him , would happily have him there instead of either Lamps or Mikel

As a neutral I hope Chelsea win. Just suppose I like seeing the English teams doing well in Europe. Also, I dislike Barca so that has a baring!

Hard to call tomorrow night. Chelsea couldn't be coming into this game on the back of a better result really. Barca are vulnerable in defence and I see Chesea definitely scoring. Problem is, its hard to see Barca not scoring too. I'll go 2-1 Chelsea

Nothing to do with you particular dislike for the Mighty blue's especially after we stuffed Spurs on Sunday .

Always bewilders me that people would choose to back a team outside of the league they follow ,

I like to see teams from the league I support doing well, which in the past is usually Utd after Chelsea go out but I always hope they will do good , find its keeps more of an interest in the competition for me .

The big question is, who will wave their plastic flag the most? :D Maybe the Chelsea fans will actually sing this time.

    We have been robbed.
Cahill vs Messi just isnt the same!

Just imagine being Cahill though, in December he was playing for Bolton, tomorrow he will be facing Barca
Hows that for living a dream!

Ah they did sing and plenty of signing right to the very end of the game , you must of missed the end of the game with the rest of the Spurs fans ,

Think they were signing "has the fire alarm gone off" as all the Spurs fans hastily rushed from there seats :pac::pac::pac:

Fair play to the club giving out the flags , looks very well at the game and on screen.

Ah that bitterness will always get you in the end ,

Anyway going on tonights evidence , a german team looks a decent shout for a final spot .

I really hope the game goes off without any controversial shouts , have had my fill of them this season , for and against

I was at the game and stayed until the end, pity Chelsea could not sell all their tickets. Anyway sorry is off topic and I will let you get back to discussing tomorrow night's game.

Here'd be my Chelsea lineup if I had been manager: Cech, Cole, Terry, Ivanovic, Bosingwa, Romeu, Mikel, Mata, Ramires, Kalou, Mata, Torres

i like watching teams who play good football, regardless of whether they are in my favourite teams league or not.i find drogba terry and cole a very unsavoury triumverate. they are unscrupulous, lack virtue and have very few redeeming features at all.drogba in particular is an embarrassment as a footballer given his physical dimensions to play acting ratio. cole and terry are just not nice in the way they condct themselves.

hopefully tomorrow is a victory for football and humanity

add in the moments silence antics and my decision seems topical and justified.

I have every plastic flag from my games.
I'll be waving a few tomorrow from the comfort of my sofa

They may be worth something some day!

Singing is for choirs and angels ;)

Win or lose, a lot of teams would love to be going up against them, but only we have earnt the right

Big game for us tomorrow, our 5-1 victory over Spurs was a great warm up for what will be a much more important game tomorrow. I was delighted Spurs fell to bits and were unable to give us a test at Wembley, i really didn't want us wasting to much energy on the F.A Cup

I am sure we will be full of confidence coming off the back of our victory but beating Barca over two legs will be a tough ask but not an impossible one imo.

Boswinga is a massive Liability , worst defender in the squad , if we were stuck on the right mid wing I would not mind him up there but at the back he just switches off .

For me I would go with

    Cech

    Cole , Terry ,Cahill ,Invanovic

    Romeu(Lamps) , Mikel ,Ramieres

    Mata

    Drogba Torres

Whoa whoa whoa, Barca, while they play beautiful football and are amongst the best teams we have have ever seen play, have players that make Drogbas play acting look tame in the extreme and also have some unsavoury characters in their squad too.

I'm not particularly having a go at Barca here but your reasons for hoping for a Barca win seem bizarre Also while it sounded like a sizeable minority during the minutes silence at the weekend, that's what it was, a minority and Chelsea quickly issued a statement condemning it.

Also the "victory for football and humanity" is just hilarious.

have they any who slept with their teammates ex bird and aborted the ensuing pregnancy?
any who allegedly racially abused a black player ?
any who shot a teenager with a pellet gun?

theres a a 6 minute clip of messi getting the **** kicked out of him and not diving for a free. they are no angels (busquets)but they are the most angelic

    .

Minority or not it was disgusting and I was there. How come Spurs fans did not resort to such horrible behaviour? I must admit it sounded pretty loud to me.

    Haha, twelve men, two Mata's!

Wouldn't fancy facing that from a Barça point of view :D

I think pistolpetes11's line-up is most likely looking at Chelsea in recent weeks. Haven't you been using a 4-2-3-1 with Ramires dropping back being link between midfield and attack? Maybe I'm miles off.

    Like:
    Cech
    Ivanovic Cahill Terry Cole
    Lampard Mikel
    Ramires Mata Torres
    Drogba

    ?

Also, I have no idea why people are expecting Barça to win easily.

This thread is going to turn into a nightmare, it's starting already.

It's going to be back and forth b*tching about which player is worse than which and it won't necessarily be Barca or Chelsea fans doing it. People are just going to be posting to try and get a reaction from both sets of supporters.

I'm not denying it was disgusting but that really isn't a reason to hope see a team lose. It's not like Chelsea orchestrated it or condoned it.

Two of those things are off field matters and have nothing to do with football.

As for Terry racially abusing Ferdinand...innocent until proven guilty my friend.

Yupp that is true, but it was Chelsea fans so can understand if people don't want that club to succeed.

i think its enough to want them to lose knowing that those fans who chanted "murderers" at wembley (albeit a minority) are in bad form if they lose.in this case i think the juice is definitely worth the squeeze.

    Possibly rename the thread :

The darkened evil destroyers of the modern day game V guardians of all that is great .

And from speaking to someone who was at the game there was only a small group of ejits who ruined the minutes silence , there was also a lot of noise from people shouting at them to shut up and keep quite.

Mate was 8 rows away from where it started and said there was lots of bother over it, he thought there was going to be an all out brawl.
